I’m the opposite! Burnt Orange, warm shades, yellow etc flatter me really well but I can’t wear cool pinks or whites

A good tip when using knit is to iron a narrow strip of interfacing on the edge, then overlock over this and then sew the hems into the overlock. If you cut your interlining on a false biais it helps keep some of the stretch. This way the hems and shoulder seams lie flat. I've been sewing for over 50 years and have made my own mistakes along the way too. Also for good amounts of fabric I sometimes buy old duvet covers and bedsheets. I recently bought a childs bed sheet covered in ducks to make a fun summer blouse.
I am not into sewing quite yet but there's something beautiful about creating something you can be proud of and I take note that more creation is necessary in my life. Thank you for this realization, your wardrobe that you created is absolutely beautiful.

What a great productive year you’ve had. I’m cheering you on from Japan as I knit the last bits of the cropped lace jumper. (And by knit, I mostly mean unpick, as I have the concentration span of a gnat, and the lace rows are almost all done twice!) All the best for 2021!

UA-cam showed me your channel at the right time in my life. I am planning to also work on a patterns and do similar styles and colors of my clothes for 2021, I feel what I want to wear is so expensive at the stores I will be wasting my ability o sew and money by buying rather than making them.

I LOVED that you said that, after hanging all the pieces you made over 2020, you just sat and stared at them. It's what I do when I've finished a piece of Art ... or a project, or a collection of things. In 2020 I made cards (boxes and boxes). There is some crazy satisfaction that comes from creativity ... from seeing something that was just an idea ... that you then BIRTH ... that you turn into reality. I LOVED seeing all your pieces. They are BEAUTIFUL and really special. And they carry this energy of love ... of how you felt making them ... they carry that energy. Brava!!

Wow no one I know sews anymore including my 91 year old mother in law who is a wonderful seamstress. All of your wardrobe is beautiful and the colors are wonderful. You will have to sew for others to keep your love of sewing going.

Could you possibly do a video on how to sew a milkmaid top? I haven’t been able to find a video on how to do it that I like and that I can easily follow along with.
Your creations look so lovely, feminine and comfortable. I used to sew all my clothes as a teenager. It was necessary for me to save money but I did enjoy getting a new outfit once it was done.
This is all amazing! I can’t read a pattern or make clothing YET! But seeing you hack thrifted clothing sure is inspiring. My hubby bought me a super nice overlock for Christmas to go with the sewing machine I’ve had for 25 years and an really nice heavy duty sewing machine that I picked up at a thrift store for $8 USD. I couldn’t hardly believe when I found it and got it home and it was in perfect working condition and a value of approximately $400 USD.
The styles, the patterns, the colors... its just perfect. It makes me want to start making my own wardrobe based on this right away!

I haven't made anything this year, but I did thrift a nice chunk of my summer dresses(cause gewd lawd was it hot this year oof). They're in another room on a rack and whenever I pass by it, I wish it wasn't cold atm so I can wear them again 💙

Just found this video the day my sewing machine is due to arrive to start my sewing journey, I LOVE your style, it’s so similar to the stuff I love, will definitely be getting the Hazel pattern from you first and trying it out, and the wrap dress at another point, beautiful!!!
Your video just popped up on my feed here on youtube. Your style is very similar to what I made in 70s. And coloring. Ive not tried shirring although ive been sewing for 55 years. A lot of my sewing involved thrifted clothing and now committed to it in past 10 years or so at age 65 now. I’m very glad many young people are sewing now. Funny I’m in southern Calif. but my parents Scottish born outside of Glasgow. They moved and sister and I born in England. Moved against to Vancouver Canada when I was about 3, then to USA when I was 9. I feel homesick for all the accents I heard. I’m the oldest now of the clan on all sides. I will definitely look at your other videos for techniques. Oh, in typing while watching. It’s very hard to sew knits on the cross grain. I dont have a serger so I most often add a bias binding ive made from other materials. I cut it vertically from tshirt tops. Good quality knits. Buy mens tees for this or junior lace T-shirt’s. The more stable knit helps the original knit not to warm when hemming. If you had leftover of that knit material you could do same cut a binding in opposite stretch direction and use as a hem binding or stretch lace hem tape. I dont have anywhere to wear more fancy clothing to now that I’m retire and we moved more rural ranch. But I STILL upcycle even my most of casual clothing. Even ranch rural and old age doesnt have to mean looking bad. I remake mens T-shirt’s to look more feminine too.

Lovely clothes, so happy to see comfortable classic looks. I also sewed many clothes and it was fun and enjoyed wearing something different than what the other girls wore.
The craziest coincidence is that I have both of the McCalls patterns you showed! Got them for 25 cents at my thrift store :) Now I’m excited to use them after seeing all the lovely clothes you made!
The best thing about this wardrobe is comfort and its not like other girls having completely revealing or shiny shimery glittery cloathes. This is a bit like the 1960s fashion. I would wish to wear these.😍😉

I used to wear tops or sweaters/jumpers over dresses so the skirt would flow more loosely over my (big) hips...a flow-y hack for my pear shape...love your dresses and your channel
