Definitely a good idea to get rid of those limiters. They don't really help the suspension, only bring the ride height up but don't allow the suspension to work the way it should. You have yours set up just right, great video as always.
Thanks bro, I did not like those things the minute I saw them lol Fixing the suspension springs to get rid of the limiters was a must and I had to share to help those that don't know this yet.
No problem my friend. Always happy to help out and hope you can find some of my videos useful since you seem to already have some solid experience with RC Cars 👍
@@AirToGroundRCFPV thanks for compliment I actually entered this hobby less then a year ago, but I like to get my hands on the "putty", and with the awesome channels like yours I have been learning a lot thats for sure. See you soon, Ricardo
Current model (v3) comes with friction shocks!! And they are wltoy k zed seris size shocks!! Tiny mods needed for swap. Tiny wood screw and washer to hold em on! Top side usually 🙌🏾
I saw those, definitely seems like an improvement over the old version style. Some people say they are a little too stiff though but I haven't tried them yet. I will be making my own suspension system for front and back anyway so it doesn't matter to me but it's good they have that optional upgrade now.
@@AirToGroundRCFPV They are indeed a little stiff, better than the original in my opinion. I took them apart and cleaned up the plastic material and it was a slight improvement.
@@wasaB. That's good to know and maybe switching to weaker springs of the same size could help as well like the springs from a wltoys k969/989 could work possibly.
Great video! I just one for my son! We ran it as it came with no adjustments! We took it to the park and ran it over concrete! After a few bumps, the rear tires are making a weird noise! Do you have any idea what it could be or any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
That's awesome man, I hope you and your son are having a lot of fun with it. I haven't driven mine on hard concrete yet so it's hard to tell. Maybe you knocked something loose? Check the dog bones from the back wheels to the differential and make sure they are not bent, loose or broken. Check the top and bottom swing arms for cracks and make sure they move freely. Check the little suspension spring to make sure thats ok as well. Make sure the wheels aren't coming loose where the screw holds them on. Hopefully you don't need to open up the gear box to see if the gears and differential are moving freely, it's possible that some debris got in there but that's all I can really guess at the moment bud, I hope you can figure it out. Just do a process of elimination to narrow down what it could be.
wow, I wish they would sell it like this! Its the perfect stance im looking for! Can you still buy the older version or are the ones that are sold all the new versions? Saw one for 40 Euro inc. shipping. And are the gears replacable or is the car trash if they got eaten up?
From what I can tell the older versions are still available especially on AliExpress but there are a bunch of sellers selling different ones so look around and do your best to choose which one you want. The plastic gears are not too bad and if you do wear them down they are replaceable so no worries. I will drop a few videos in the next few weeks on replacing those gears with metal ones so those videos will give you better idea on how to replace them if you ever need to. You don't have to swap out to metal gears if you don't want but it's a good idea if you drive yours around a lot and beat it up then it might be a good idea for more durability especially if you plan to put a brushless motor on at some point I would recommend upgrading to metal. I will eventually switch out to a brushless setup in the future after I beat up the stock brushed motor first.
That's a good question, I didn't have that issue so I haven't really looked into it. Check the manual or online for the binding process. If there isn't any info try contacting the seller to see if they can get the info to rebind from LDRC.
@@flt842 Yea stock gyro is built into the board, the old black electronics board versions had pretty bad internal gyro. Newer version with red electronics board are better but still not that great. The cheapest and best option everyone is going with is the DasMikro V5 gyro. It's tried and true and has the best performance to price ratio. You can try to add your own gyro if you want from a heli or plane or something, that's your call.
Looks suspicious 😂 That torsion spring looks like chrome plated spring steel, just like a paperclip. Kinda sus 😮 So, It can be made from stainless steel, or more thicker parerclip 😂
Yea it's basically a glorified paper clip. I'll be swapping out to my own custom shocks soon and some models are already coming with shocks installed now instead of the spring.
