Interesting bullet. Hadn’t heard of north fork before. Looks like it performed well👍🏻

Yup, North Fork makes outstanding bullets!
Their 0.411" 300gr is insanely effective through my 405 WCF - on elk it's been incredible. I've also used their 308 and 257 with fantastic results.

My absolute favorite rifle of all time. I am going to own an original one day, hopefully.

That's a very nice lever action. I have a Big Horn Armory .500 S@W Spike driver model 89 carbine lever action. It has become my favorite " big pissed off animal stopper". The 740gr. bullets, produce too much recoil. I cast my own 500gr. bullets, which will stop anything that walks,or crawls. It an absolute fantastic lever action carbine. It better be, with a cost in the area of $5.500!!!!

That is expensive , I thought about getting one, maybe one day I will, but at that price, I can get a Turnbull 1886 in 50-110 WCF, One of my viewers got one, he shot a 400 grain solid brass bullet all the way to an elephant head.
Out of curiosity, what kind of velocity do you get with a 500 grain bullet?

@@Leverguns50 I load my 500gr. hard casts, with 29gr. of Hodgdon Lil 'Gun powder. I'm averaging around 1.500 fps. It's also a very accurate load. For just plinking and deer sized game. I like 500 Special loads. The 500 Special,is more than enough for deer at reasonable ranges. I shoot 370gr. hard casts. The recoil is so much less than 500gr. max. .500 magnum loads. .500 Special loads, are really fun to shoot and I don't get a sore and bruised shoulder. 😁

That's amazing performance. I'd feel confident in bear country with a few of those Norfolk bullets followed by heavy, wide meplat solids. I wonder how these big rounds compare to similar performing European and British dangerous game rounds ? .375 h and h has caparable numbers to that .45/90. 300 grain bullets at 2550-2650. The .375 has A LOT of penetration capability. Think .270 Winchester, with double the bullet weight. 89-170 grains vs 180-350 grains, at the same velocity and similar bullet drop. I watched a
300 grain bonded split the tread on 5 tires side by side, go through a 55 gallon drum full of sand, brick and glass and rainwater , go through three adult hard wood trees and kept going into the backstop. My first shot was memorable lol
    .

4,502 ft/lbs that was one Healthy *Smack!* reminds me of 50BMG how it flipped that hard. I like using the tree stick
