I've seen him at a small venue, so we were really close to him. Front row. The entire show it felt like he was personally talking to me. He has that effect on people
Every comedy club I've ever been to, the starting comics made me feel like I was being fed material.. whereas when the headliner comes up, it doesn't feel like a bit at all, it just feels like they're having a chat with the audience. A pro makes it look so easy too.

Bear this in mind about Jim, he's one of the hardest working stand-ups in the business. It's ALWAYS worth going and seeing him live, he's always got new bits. He doesn't do the same act for 15 years like a lot of guys who I won't mention. He's one of the best and I say that will all objectivity. I have nothing but respect for Jim and appreciate his respect for his paying audience, he never takes us for granted.
Jim lives about 15 miles from me so he does a lot of last minute shows at the local comedy club The Stress Factory. We go every single chance we get and you are correct....His act never gets old. He always has new bits and stories. And he is a hell of a nice, down to earth guy.
Jim Bruer isn't the typical standup with "bits"...he literally looks at the world, all of it, as something that is ultimately funny because he just is a "laugh at it" medicine man. And we all need that medicine every day.
LONG LIVE PAINT!! LMAO!! For those who don't get it I strongly suggest you check the video of Jim talking about his experience in the paint department at Sears! I literally had tears in my eyes I was laughing so much!
Right? I mean I have been out of middle school for nearly 35 years and I still felt a sudden twinge of "oh crap Mrs Anderson is gonna make me stand in the corner again"
Tyler He could tell me about his trip to the gas station and I would be rolling on the floor. I think he stays out of the limelight so he never gets to the next level. I’m with you though he is one of the few that literally kills me.

you don't notice on the good ones. The blue comedy is a shortcut to stardom. Jim is too good for that. I love too that he is self-effacing. Like all the time he gets "are you high?" and he says "no this is just the way my face looks" and continues like nothing. He is just truly a fun and genial guy who is acutely observant.
Men have to be amazing to tolerate being intentionally provoked on a daily basis by the one aspect of life we were deceived into believing would make life worth living.
I can't believe I am just finding out how funny and brilliant of a comedian that Jim is. This skit was so relevant to me after 25 years of Marriage, really great stuff. His Slayer fans skit is great too.
Jim is just his authentic self and naturally tells hilarious stories of his own real life experiences which emphasizes the real time he spends by creating a way to share with the world and laughing himself while keeping us all in stitched and wise learning. I'd be surprised if he even has a script, shocked in fact. He is the real deal and it rarely can get any funnier. Love you Mr. Bruer sir, for sharing yourself, your excellent awareness that laughter is much better than regrets or resenting through seeing the comedy in yourself that so many can sadly and easily miss while we journey through it all in life just the same ways, nothing new under the Sun and along came Jim and were thankful of having you brother If you gotta cry do so laughing and watch is heal the soul better than anything else on earth could hold a candle to.

The funny thing is this is great marriage advice. A good husband and a man knows when to put aside petty pride and anger and care enough to really understand their wives feelings.
Such an underrated comic. His delivery is probly the most natural ive ever heard. I love it when you cant really differ whats material or whats just winging it lol this dude is probly so fun to party with
Why-o-why doesn't this video have a million views! This is one of the best jokes/funny stories I've heard in a long, LONG time! Good on you, Mr. Breuer. I'm immediately forwarding this to my brother & his wife so they can understand what it means to be a Marriage Warrior.
This guy is not just funny but truly wise...... His comedy is deep I love it! but even better its because of his strong relationships that take it to a personal level that we can relate with.
He handles the few chatterers without “ruining” their liquored fun before getting on with this very funny marital story we all can relate to. Good stuff from Jim….always.
Jesus said I'd rather you go into the inner most room of your house to speak to God than to be like the hypocrite that prays in extravagant words Infront of others to be seen as righteous. Paul also talked about not using many extravagant words in prayer for God knows the desires of your heart. You got it right Jim. You're the man dude, love your work
Yes praise the Lord indeed, watching from the navy seal combat base and yes some don’t come home. Let’s give thanks for some gave but some gave all and Jesus gave all to us first
I don't think I've ever seen a bad or even a "meh" bit from Jim Breuer. He always kills. On a side note. I don't know why. I know it's probably just me... but for some odd reason that logo for the comedy club behind him really makes me want to dig out my old original Nintendo game system. 😉
When I was a in College at UF, we had a pep rally called "Gator Growl" that used to bring in comedians for a portion of the show. In 2001 we got to see Daniel Tosh and Dave Attell open up for Jim Breuer. In 2000, we had the late great Mitch Hedberg. But none of them could compare to an unkown comedian we had in 1998 my freshman year known as Dave Chapelle. Crazy!
You've always been a great comedian; great writing & material. Hottest blue eyes in the biz. You look like my first crush, who also was cursed/blessed w the stoner blazed-,eyes. He's underrated because he loves what he's doing. This guy probably just goes out to comedy clubs to preform and have a good time, he probably gives a shit less about the money. Go Bruer!

I wish I would have seen this before I lost my wife and two girls. But by the time it was over it was too late to heal. Too many words, neither willing to take it on the cheek. Now I've missed everything, and haven't seen my girls in 4 years, my oldest being 2 and youngest 1 at the time. Divorce following a move across the country. In the end I'd rather be wrong when I know I'm right a thousand times just to be apart of my girls life. Real wisdom here. Sometimes it's not about being right, it's about being happy.
All this marraige humor really puts my wife in the mood. Thanks Jim.
Watching this at night as my wife is snoring loud AF next to me and I’m gonna give her a kiss
Before smothering her with a pillow 😆

Jim has such a laid back style that you forget he is actually doing "stand up" it is like he is the funny guy at the party that people gather around.

That's how he started out: class clown.
Well….. you can tell he’s that funny guy.
