This channel has been such a help to me. I've been redecorating the hallway/landing going from wallpaper to paint including walls/doors/skirts/spindles. My head had fallen off a bit at the scale of the job I thought I had and I thought I had to iron out every little imperfection which 1set me back but I came across this channel and I finally finish it tomorrow and it looks great. "Progress and not perfection" 😆
@Michael . Thankyou for your support my freind, i am so pleased the videos have helped, enjoy the moment when you have finished, and reflect on the journey that got you to the finish, well done. Thankyou for the kind comment. Always remember progress not perfection. lol
Thank god I found your channel. Your no nonsense, professional and friendly approach has given me confidence on embarking decorating my new (older) home. Bought all the gear you've recommended and Watched most of your videos. Thank you so much!
@@AlfGuitar i just flash up the walls with emulsion, just make sure it is dusted down well, even wipe the filler patches with a damp cloth before flashing up, if you are painting dry wall or new plaster, then you must water down the paint.
@@Inexteriors it’s old plaster, shall I just fill straight on to it then spot prime once sanded and dusted? Also what is flashing up sorry I know it sounds silly but I’m new lol
Hello, I'm a first-time decorator and I've removed wallpaper but found that there was a coat of brown/copper paint underneath which has come away in patches. How do I clean this up? Does it get scraped off? Do I just sand it off? I would like to clean this wall up to apply lining paper and then new wallpaper. Any advice is appreciated.
@@Inexteriors Thank you. I didn't get notification of your reply for some reason. I've just been watching your "How to sand walls" video and that's also helpful. I am going to give the wallpaper a miss and just go with lining paper then a fresh coat of paint...
you say perfection doesn't exist, but this channel is perfect for me right now. ha
@Aaron Sandford . lol .Thankyou.
Loving your videos Stephen. You don't make a meal of it, just a good job. Now to crack on 😊

Thankyou.
Hi Steven worth investing in dustless sander setup won’t look back cuts prep time in half keeps mess to minimum and does a far superior job !
I might look into one bud.
Took the words out of my mouth!
@@jamiepadginton8186 I might do lol.
Would you water down the paint to spot prime?
I never have on filler, you could if you want to.
@@Inexteriors if I wanted to finish a room a quicker, could I use BS123 primer to prime the bare plaster patches?
@@Inexteriors or would I be okay just filling, sanding and then spot prime with regular emulsion?
