For those who want to know, this incredible piece of music is Handel's harp concerto opus 4, number 6, usually played with an orchestra. But, no one can complain about the soloist. He joins the ranks of the famous artists like Granjany and Laskine.
I appreciate how nicely you hit those little 32nd notes or grace notes or whatever they are in the first movement, if I had my way they'd be like that all over the piece, but then your hand would probably burst into flames halfway through the concerto so it's probably for the best that Handel peppered them in sparingly.
beautiful playing!!! listening to this makes me want to practice more!!! 0:00 1st movement 3:11 2nd movement 7:52 cadenza 11:08 3rd movement i’m studying this piece right now and i’ve had a hard time finding a recording of just the harp without any accompaniment with the grandjany cadenza the time stamps are just so i can find each section easier :)
Thanks! Yes, I've seen Amy Turk, plus there are several other excellent performances of the Toccata and Fugue on UA-cam (ua-cam.com/video/EHy5l1n0HLE/v-deo.html for example). Fun piece! I played my own transcription as part of this same concert and am working on music video of it - soon!
Beautiful Performance! It could've been nice if you had an orchestra accompanying you, and it's a shame that NOT to many men play harp nowadays. Speaking of that, I would please like to request another Harp Tuesday Video on why not too many men play harps rather than too many girls. I don't want this to upset you, but it's kind of true.
Soooo. Beautiful!!! I Can Only Imagine. What. It Could Have. Sounded. Like. With an. Orchestra. To. Accompany. Him!!! Hence the Word. Concerto. IF You. Catch. My. Drift?!!! Helloooooow!!!!!!!
is there a Camac dealer in Canada? I live in Ontario and am looking for a large size lever harp, either L&H or Salvi or Cama, any help would be appreciated
No Camac dealer in Canada, unfortunately. I bought my Camac lever harp from the Virginia Harp center - they do ship to Canada. I know Andrew Chan is in Ontario and is a dealer for both Salvi and L&H, I believe... You might get in touch with him!
You play concert so beautiful 😊

The Hollie Witch Now I get it. And did the Harp started out as a Baroque Triple Harp?
Here is a really interesting BBC documentary hosted by Catrin Finch that discusses harps. ua-cam.com/video/I_ImURf8KUE/v-deo.html

@@JoshLayne that is surprising since they are a French company and most of Canada is bilingual
What pedal harp do you play?
A Lyon and Healy Style 30
Any one noticed his hands? Beautiful as woman's hands.
