@@carlybeam6310 I know!! I wish more of this would happen. So many beauty YTers say “tutorials don’t get views” but I have a hard time seeing that. Especially when comparing people like Alexandra! She’s booming and doing amazing.
@@chelsearose7655 I think it's because a lot of influencers don't have the professional beauty background she does. Working with pat McGrath I feel has given her an edge as to why certain make up techniques work and others don't and what we may be doing with it that isn't proper application or a proper look for eye shape etc. Explaining why it will flatter your face/skin type is so much more helpful for me than just "we're doing a halo eye"

I’m always fascinated with how well you apply and blend BOTH eyes. I’m left handed and whenever I cross over to my right eye, things can get wonky and I don’t know why because it shouldn’t be that awkward.
I have the same problem. One eye always looks better than the other 😂 I think that may be due to the angle which I hold my brush with though
A trick I have picked up on is do your eye that you're less confident with first THEN as you do each eye, mirroring becomes easier because the second eye is the one you're more confident with
Something I was trained to do as a MUA is to start on the weaker side first. It’s a lot easier to make your strong side match your weaker one than it is to do the opposite.

That flick with the brush for removing glitter particles is a great tip too. I usually use tape, but the brush seems so much easier.

Love the light background! Your eyes just pop! I literally just bought this Dior pallet specifically for eyeshadow (a couple colors). Anxious to see the path to the final look I saw on IG. What a great tip with the loose powder. Seems like an obvious trick now...duh...
Oh no just wanted to give you a heads up Robert Welsh did a video on how much he HATED the Dior eyeshadow because it would not budge or blend from where he placed it. I'm sorry to pass the bad news to you but I would wanna know myself! Sorry love! Hope this helps
@@maiganmattson5836 Thanks for the heads up. I'm actually using the face palate from Dior, not eyeshadows, but will check out his video in case I find it helpful.

@@maiganmattson5836 If it's the video where he was using a Dior holiday 2020 eyeshadow quint, the formula performs poorly bc for some reason Dior's limited edition eyeshadows aren't manufactured in the same place as their permanent line so the quality isnt consistent

Your control with the brush...I envy it. I cannot for the life of me do what you do, especially when I'm looking in the mirror. I end up just swiping back and forth in and around my crease, with mixed results half the time. Maybe I just need more practice! But ugh...I feel completely unable to get my brush to move the way I want it.

This crease powder + buffing method is basically what I do, as well. It's great to see someone really spell it out and explain how it works. I'll have to try that trick with using a light veil of powder and the brush bristles to flick off excess sparkles. :)
I love how you went on with doing eyeshadow despite peely lids, I get that often but all over the face since I've got psoriasis/eczema and get really insecure when it shows

Didn't know about the setting spray on the brush to keep shimmers in put! Good tip. Hopefully it'll work using my benefit setting spray because it doesn't help transfer proof my makeup for when I'm wearing a mask 😒

Whole face makeup to look younger for us mature women (I'm in my 50s) It's so easy to have the appearance of more lines wrinkles after applying makeup. Love powders, not liquids or creams, so harder to not have those wrinkles soak up makeup quick. My new thing is avoid wrinkle & under eye area. Truly looks better on me if I leave those crow feet alone. Please do a video on creating youthfulness when you're older! Great idea from commenter below. Alex have you tried Instree 50+ Hyalaronic Watery Gel sunscreen?
I wear sunscreen 365 days a year and cannot tolerate pilling. It is a fast absorbing gel and does not ever pill. I have recommended it to so many people who absolutely love it! It's non greasy and so light. My son is 6 years old and its all he will wear on his face also! I think you'll love it and find it better than your ulta especially for your eyes and very hydrating also. I hope you try it and love it like me... I was so relieved to find a solution and in Australia we are spoilt for choice but I found this Korean one far superior. Its unbeatable 🤩🌞

Suggestion: How to do eyes before the base .. how do you apply the liquids (foundation / concealer) to get it to merge completely with the eye makeup?
