that pass by Yamamoto was amazing, passed it perfectly on the inside of the player which allowed McDavid to get a huge jump on the D and make this amazing play. Great play!
That and McDavid faking outside then cutting back inside forcing Durzi to take a penalty. Great play start to finish.
Not an oilers fan but I can recognize how special Mcdavid is. All you oilers fans are so lucky to be able to watch him every game! Dude does it all he's relentless. Brilliant pass by Yamamoto there to start it all also...tossed it to the only place it would work hoping Mcdavid could react in time. And of course he could. Huge effort by Mcdavid...he had the jam tonight.

actually since it's a blink and you'll miss it moment ill forgive you for missing it but the brilliant pass to start it all was McDavids behind the back in midair no look pass to Yamamoto to start the breakout. no big deal.

McDavid's pass is just a reaction and knowing where teammates are. Yamamoto's pass was counterintuitively cheeky because it used the defender's momentum to place the puck opposite of the flow like a back shoulder throw.
Unlike Matthews and Marner, McDavid is becoming a real leader who can and will carry his team over the hump.
Marner did everything he could. Guy playing First line. First PP and First PK. Can't blame Marner for the series.

Durzi was too busy crying to the refs (which worked for the first 6 games) but McDavid is strictly work and hustle and it paid off here!

He was getting the penalty for hooking. He thought the penalty had been called already and was complaining. I guess he didn't realize the play was still on for a second.

Really have no clue why people say or ever said McDavid is a no-show in the playoffs. He was easily the deciding factor in this series and you can tell how badly he wants to win by the he plays and celebrates.
Going into the series he was above a point per game in the playoffs. Issue is that the Oilers depth was hot garbage, and since we didn’t get out of the first round the past few years haters went “McDavid doesn’t show up in the playoffs”. Only difference is this year he literally put 17 players on his back and DRAGGED us into the second round

He is probably the best offensive player I've ever seen. He skates SO FAST and can stop on a dime. He's 3 steps above everyone on D. They just can't defend him. It's like trying to catch a rabbit and he is just fiercly looking to put the puck in the net by any means necessary.

McDavid is in a league of his own. He's destroying Matthews everytime they face-off. Last season was proof of that, same conference, almost 30 points diff between M97 and M34.

Looking back, and thinking about how big this goal was, not just for the Oilers fan, but to Connor personally. I mean think about it. The year before, his team got swept by the Jets despite being the better team for a good chunk of that series. The year before that, COVID broke up the season, and Edmonton lost to a Chicago team that really shouldn't have been in the playoff conversation. So this was HUGE for him, huge for the team, and huge for the fanbase.
Oilers made Canada proud. Their play was polar opposite of Leafs.

Disappointed that the Kings lost the series having two chances to end it. Having said that, McDavid is something else. He is a once in a generation talent. Wish that the Kings had someone like him. He seemed to be playing every other shift. Amazing.

This series was nuts I don’t think people are giving the Kings enough credit after game 1 I said this is going 7 and when the kings took the series lead people made fun of Edmonton saying they are loosing to a weak Kings team. The Kings played amazing why it went too 7 give them some credit.

No one player regardless of skill can win by themselves.
