3:29 mistake here. Engine oil never get more viscous when temperature increases. In 10W 30, it's works as a 10 weight oil in zero Celsius and in high temperatures it works as 30 weight oil. It doesn't mean viscosity is increased. Viscosity is always decrease with temperature in engine oils.
yes it is what i have said. that is the beauty of engine oil compared to other liquids. You’re absolutely right-engine oil does get thinner as the temperature increases, but multi-grade oils like 10W-30 are designed to perform consistently across different temperatures. Changing intervals are depend on the oil grade, driving pattern, and road condition. Ex: 0w-20 Fully synthetic can run up to 10,000Km range if you are driving only on Expressways with constant speed. If you're idling, at slow speeds, or on short trips then you need to change it at half of the distance around 5000Km. Those things are clearly mentioned on the vehicle's service manual or oil can.

I have hijet minivan. During service without knowing i have used 10w30 instead user manual 5w30 oil. Is it will effect for engine. Can i use it until next serivce.thank you

හරිම ලස්සනට ප්‍රසන්ටේෂන් එක කරනවා, මගේ ළඟ තියෙන ටොයිටා හයිබ්‍රිඩ් axio NKE165 , 2015 year කාර් එකක්. ඒක දැනට කිලෝ මීටර් 105000 දුවලා තියෙනවා, මම යූස් කරන්නේ toyota 0w20 synthetic එන්ජින් oill. මෙම එන්ජින් oil එක වෙනස් කරන්නෙ කොපමණ කිලෝමීටර ගණනක් ගියහම ද, එක් කෙනෙක් කියනවා කිලෝමීටර පන්දාහෙන් කියලා, තව කෙනෙක් කියනවා කිලෝමීටර් දහ දාහෙන් කියලා. මේකෙ ඇත්ත තත්ත්වය මොකක්ද. කොපමණ කලකින්ද. 0w 20 එක10w 30 ග්‍රේඩ් එක වෙනස් කරන්න ඕන කොපමණ කලකින්ද. Could you advise on the Gear Oil change interval on Axio Hybrid car. In owners manual says it should be 90,000Km but the Agent recommends to change that each 40,000Km. The current Mileage is 62,000Km. What's the correct interval to change that you suggest?

The cold temperature viscosity (left-hand number) is calibrated at -17.8 C°, and the hot temperature viscosity(right-hand number) is calibrated at 100C°. In Sri Lanka, you don't have to worry about cold temperature viscosity (left-hand number), As in Sir Lanka, the ambient temperature never drops to -17.8C° or even closer to that number. However, always go by the manufacturer's specifications for selecting the oil and oil change intervals (refer to the owner's manual of the vehicle).
