Great review! I have this bike and just wanted to let you know that the brakes require a "break-in" period. After a couple hundred miles, they set in rather nicely. One other thing that was left out was the vents on the leg moldings. There are vents that you can open to help alleviate some of the engine heat, but that is only effective when you are moving. In an urban environment you spend a lot of time stopping and starting, so the heat can build up then, but again, nothing that can't be handled.
Love the video. I traded my 2015 Indian Chief Vintage in on this model and colour. Absolutely love the Roadmaster. I personally think the brakes are fine and have stopped the bike very quickly when needed. Power is sufficient although I am getting the 116 ci upgrade but only because it was a deal with the bike..saved $7k with it thrown in....cant wait for the instal
Ha! Nice review. I'm one of those lucky folks who gets to live stateside where it's nice and warm, like, California. It's kind of smoky r/n but in summer it gets warm. Fun fact: bikes in CA are allowed to lane split partly so that the engines on the air-cooled bikes don't overheat. Come and visit us next year, take a ride from LA to Grand Canyon or something.
I love my 2017 Roadmaster. I have stage 1 and Indian's stage 2 with a tuner and it's perfect. Mine is the Burgundy Metalic with tan seats that I swapped for.
I test rode a 2016 Roadmaster. Handling is amazing for the size of the bike. Been offered good deal on brand new one which I am seriously thinking about!
I test rode the Indian Springfield today. I liked it and didn't notice the brakes were under performing but I agree the power was not quite as much as I thought it would be although was plenty for me. Living in Southern California, you can't get crazy anyway. It was plenty warm today but I did not notice the heat off the motor as much as I do with my Kawasaki Vulcan 1700. Good review...thank you.
I just went to Indian for their demo ride weekend yesterday..2nd time I've gone. I really like the look of all their bikes, more so than Harleys. Once I get the money, the Scout Bobber will be mine lol
Yes overall a good boost, I got even better throttle response when I added a tune via FuelMoto PVCX, crazy throttle response. I'm sure you could get more with bigger cams or the big bore kit, but I am happy. It's potent, but these baggers aren;t race bikes, but dang peppy. Love mine
i guess im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a way to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my login password. I would love any tips you can give me.
@Maddox Callum thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and im trying it out atm. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Awesome review and well done for doing another Indian motorcycle. I wonder if the dealership let you on the classic F1 Norton if they got one. That be another awesome review or a really classic Norton cafe racer or the Triumph Norton mix Triton. You never know they might say yes, can but dream. If you ever get the chance of trying a suzuki RGV GAMMA V4 500cc two stroke that put the cat amongst the pigeons. Yamaha version was RD V4 500 YPVS LC. Both V4 engines really really nutter bikes noisy vibration oily smoking even for being 30yrs old really quick. Why do i love harley Davidson motorcycles because of those reasons bags of character. You might be able to inform your generation of these classic two stroke motorcycles which where banned for being too much fun and maybe a little bit dangerous. Just had to mention that because you do brilliant reviews and vlogs just wondering what your generation think and compare on the motorcycles your dad's or grandads rode. Motonewbs classicycle view. Great work hope you enjoying your new job.
Seem 2018 sound like my 2017 limited without the cat on stock pipes. I like how they move the controllers closer to your thumbs. 2017 is quite a bit of reach on some function.
Hey you're actually getting good at this....glad I stuck around.,😂Beautiful bike just way out of my budget range. I'd be interested to know what you consider "warm weather". Cheers
I sat in a 2016 model recently and the clutch was very stiff - is that a problem generally? I really want one but slightly worried about dealership back up and getting lumbered with something I can't sell on.
LOLOL just had the best idea - have 37 gallons worth of 3d printed gas tanks fitted into the paniers(storage bags) and hook them up the main fuel tank somehow lol, go for a 3,000 mile ride hahahah
Why not? There is a new 2012 on ebay right now. If you looked you would be able to find new 2017's all across the country. Wasn't too awful long ago that my own local Indian dealer was waiting for a large Vic order from the factory.
Yes it's very nice but no one points out that both the handle bar control cases are made of plastic. Why Polaris, Why. Design with some good metal that is chromed and charge me more if you have to but plastic.....really? Also, the rear passenger floorboards not only go up or down in three positions but they will also cant one bolt hole like on the Victory's.

I just got my Roadmaster 2018 Thunder Black seven days ago.
I agree all you said after my first 1000 km.
This will be a brilliant season.

Thanks Motonewbrider - love your reviews. as for the new sound for 2018 it sounds like they just tuned it to the key of Harley

I have a 17 Roadmaster, I test road a 116 Chieftain that was cool, though I have stage 1 & 2 on mine
@@kevinb.3528 were the stage 1 & 2 upgrades a significant power/acceleration change?

I think the Dark horse is a better look for you!
I'd like one but would Stage 1 it as you said 😎💪👍
Love that bike,
Dude! Your on the wrong side of the road.... Just kidding. Great bike love the details of it.
No more red kill switch button...yahoo. What I love about an Indian motorcycle is that it's not a Harley.

Great review.. #twodigbysoneindian
monster bike
They should have called it Routemaster! As big as a bus!
My husbands 6 ft 5 320 lbs he thinks it is too small lol.
Try victory cross country next time
sure, he'll hop back in time a few years and find a new Victory Touring from 2017 and give it a go in 2019!

I own Victory and a 2017 Indian Roadmaster. The handlebar control cases are NOT plastic.
If only Harley had these extra features on their tourers
Well now..... this is rather treasonous.
That music has a pulse that gives me headache. Good video otherwise.
Superbe vidéo ! et Superbe bécane ! pour info rejoignez nous sur www.IndianRevival.com le forum 100% Indian motorcycle
I do not know why panniers sounds gay rather than saddle bags and trunk.
Horrible camera movement
Too much yap and not enough brap. You talk waaay too much. You just never, ever give it a break. Very irritating, couldn't take anymore. Toodles.
Another gay guy in a motorcycle 🏍️ from england or australia
well made bike but IMO :ugly.
Wrong beautiful bike.
