- This is a close look at the Seiko Pepsi Turtle SRP779.
Thanks to Starbuy.com.au for loaning us this watch. If you are interested then please visit them here: www.starbuy.co...
Don't forget to mention that you saw the watch on my channel, Talking Watches.
Peace!
I really love your reviews of Starbuy's watches. I've bought a Seiko Prospex from them and the service is top notch.
Glad you like them!
@@TheWatchChannelAU I bought the SRPC44P9 (Gold Turtle) from Starbuy last month, and now am seriously thinking about buying the SRP779 based on your review. That classic divers look is simply awesome!!
I've worn my with the original seiko metal strap and the non metal One, and it's comfortable either way due to the brilliant case design.
Interesting piece. Keep up the good work. Regards.
I bought the SRP775 and been smiling since then.
Congratulations, me too smiling all the way. I got mine 4 years ago...my daily Watch, it still shines and is built like a titanium tank. Eat your heart out Rolex!
Very nice! Do you still enjoy wearing your 775?
great looking watch!
These are very comfortable to wear specially with that silicone strap.
Nice review. Just bought one of these from star buy based on your review. Great watch!
Nice one!
Thinking to buy this one and I tried on yesterday in Myers.
I like that website. Best prices you can have.
Other one is Gline watches. They are the wholesaler too.
Thanks for the info!
I just bought this great watch!
Good choice!
I have a ok watch collection..I am yet to see any watch on planet earth that can match the Seiko Turtle for beauty of design! Not Rolex or anyone else comes even close!
Wrist shot dude!
I'm lusting a pepsi for summer ! :)
Debating this of the 009
Though if I went this model, it would be on leather... looks too bulky on bracelet
Geez, leather on A dive watch....have fun at the beach with that leather band
does anyone know, if black dial color matches the srp777 (black bezel) ? I think would be nice to change bezel from time to time, to have both color variants :D
Boban Strainovic That's exactly what I want to know too!
@@rucksackrules2266 Pretty sure both 777 & 779 dials are the same.
Seiko srp779 prospex or Seiko PADI Prospex PADI? What should i buy?
In all honesty mate, whichever you actually prefer. I was going to do a video on this topic. Alway buy what you like. What others like is their choice but never be swayed by someone else's opinion. At the end of the day it's your opinion and choice that matters because you have to wear it on your wrist. Good luck mate :)
I had the same dilemma. In the end I went with the 779, not the padi. The clean dial, the more classic look, not as much flash, and minus the orange minute hand (the minute hand was the kicker...that orange just looked off and too much for me). Glad I made the choice as this is my every day wear, and every time I've gone into stores and held the Padi in hand next to the 779 my choice is affirmed...for me it was definitely the right choice. And perhaps with the 779 discontinued now there's a chance it might hold it's value a bit more--considering the limited time it was produced and that it was the least popular model vs the 777, 775, 773.
I always have loved these, just too big for my wrist.
Jlcast997 have you actually tried one on? They wear really small, much more like a 40mm.
The lug to lug is extremely short. Wears very small indeed and no protruding crown makes it feel even smaller.
When I read 45 mm I was like this’ll never work on me. While at a watch store, I noticed a nice Pepsi Seiko, so asked the seller to try it on. I tried it on and it fit perfectly, and asked what the watch was, he said it’s the Turtle. I was like impossible, the turtle is a 45mm, he said yes but it wears smaller, I bought it right away and it’s been on my wrist ever sinfen
