In the description of the video I outline all the equipment I used and how it was set up. If you need help with your set up still then message me. I'll walk you through it
The launchpad is connected to the pc via USB while the volca is hooked up to an audioninterface with a midi out plug. The launchpad sends midi patterns to the volca for it to play. This means that a sequence can be a long as your computer can handle rather than the 1 bar on the volca. The launchpad is also sending audio effect automation to ableton.
What is the setup here? Is the launchpad sequencing the actual sample parts? Triggering patterns stored on the sample? I'm interested in using a launchpad to sequence drum parts and basically use the volca as the sound engine, but I've heard that is tricky sometimes as each part uses its own midi channel or something
The set up that I'm using here is with a pc with a daw (im using ableton in this video). From here you'll need an audio interface with midi in/out. Plug a midi cable in the midi out on the interface then into the midi in on the volca. Then plug the volca into your audio interface to be able to capture the sound. The launchpad can just be plugged into your computer. The idea of the setup is to sequence on your daw while still getting the sound of the volca. With this you can make as a pattern as many bars as you want rather than just 1 bar on the volca. It is true that the vsample has every track on a different midi track. To overcome this, load up a midi track in ableton. Then put a drum rack on that track. On the first 10 cells of the drum rack put an external instrument plug in. Then change the midi track on all of them from 1-10. With this youll be able to finger drum with the launchpad and even activate sequences that get sent to the volca. I do not know how to set this up on other daws though. Hope this helps.
There's a computer with ableton running to record the audio. It also gives information to the launchpad. The left hand side of the launchpad is sending sequences to the vsample while the right side is for processing effects.
Happy to have found your channel. Nice description and answers to viewers questions. It helped me out loads. Thx :-)
Going to get midi cable today. Cool track!
Sweet. Hooking it up to a daw definitely helps get around some of the limitations. Sometimes you need more than 16 steps lol
OMG you are the volca sample master! want to know how to do that!

Great!!!! does the launchpad goes through the sample???

Nothing else? No computer?
