One thing I learn today is "birth of Country Music" is the state of Tennessee. Like I thought maybe it was California, Texas or Montana. North-east of Tennessee just fit perfectly for country culture.
My wife and I are trying to figure out where in NE TN we want to move. These videos have been very helpful. We are currently living on Long Island and can't wait to move.
Visting the area would be very helpful if you haven't visited before. If you decide to head down this way, we would be happy to meet with you. Feel free to email me with questions stefamorr@gmail.com
Thank you for doing this in depth video on Bristol, there is just not much out there to learn about the area and I am truly interested in looking at houses in that part of Tennessee. I am planning on moving down there is 2025 and could not be more excited to be able to watch every video that you both post for all of us! Thank you, again!! 😊
Thank you for the thoughtful comment and watching our UA-cam channel. We enjoyed making this video. We always learn something new about our own backyard!
One of the best videos I've seen of Bristol so far. After visitig Bristol back in April, my wife and I made the decision to move out there at the begining of next year and we couldn't be more excited.
My wife and I lived in Johnson City and then Bristol, VA back in the early 2000's. We never explored Kingsport back then because of the pervasive chemical smell (from the Eastman plant) that was all over the town. When asked "What's that smell", the locals called it the "smell of money". I'd be curious if this is still the case for current residents.

During race season, how noisy is the speedway? Are there areas of Bristol to live without experiencing car noise and traffic congestion during race days?
Is crime an issue here? We just returned from a trip exploring the Tri-Cities and Bristol really spoke to us. But, after reading the crime statistics, I'm a bit worried. Should I be? We loved Steele Creek Park and the neighborhoods you mentioned by the golf course.
The landfill was not an issue for all of Bristol. I would suggest you Google the latest reports on it. They have been working on mitigation. We have worked with multiple buyers that have purchased homes in Bristol and have no issues relating to the landfill.
@@LivinginJohnsonCityTennessee the two homes I'm looking at require a disclosure to be signed re the landfill. Bristol Tennessee just sued Bristol Virginia. The stretch from The Beast covers a 22 mile radius! These are the reasons I'm hesitant. I was hoping someone from there would prove otherwise.
Compared to other similar towns in the state, Bristol does have a fairly low cost of living. But that also means wages are low. With the addition of the Hard Rock Casino, the property values/cost of living will surely increase. Also don't forget about the landfill on the Virginia side that continually stinks up the entire town. Yes, they are attempting to resolve it but it took a battle and an act of congress to get the city to shut it down. I've lived in Bristol since the early 90s and honestly, it's just ok. There are many good places to eat, a decent amount of shopping and some nice little parks. It is a fairly low crime area and mostly quiet, other than all the loud trucks with giant flags and no exhaust everywhere... I could go into more detail about the pros and cons of Bristol as a resident, but this comment is long enough. Well produced video though!
There’s over 20 fantastic towns to live in here in Northeast Tennessee. We are here to help people decide which one is right for them. I have personally lived in four NE TN towns and found great things about each of them!

Check out the landfill before buying any thing in this town.
Same thing for my wife and I. Can’t wait to get out of Long Island. Can’t decide where to settle .

What about the landfill, has that been rectified?
Another great video! Thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching!
What is being done about the landfill?? Can you give us an update?
If you you do an internet search under Bristol landfill you will find several articles about the progress being made.
Looks good
Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!
What about the problem dump across the state line?
Google Bristol, VA landfill and you will see the progress that has been made with it.
DONT MOVE HERE! Lava drips from the sky... the dead come back alive... and demons roam the street!
Dude I feel that..
😂😂😂😂😂
And we aren't tolerant of liberals and their destructive policies!
Sounds like the demons may be interesting. See ya soon. 😂😂
If I live in a great city, that's exactly what i would say to keep outsiders out. Thanks for letting me know it's a great city!

What area in NE TN has the best mountain views &/or hiking access? And does Bristol have the same MTN views as Kingsport?
@@selena2250 Every area has Mountain View’s. Some areas have sweeping views and some areas are more situated in the mountains.
Is there 4 seasons in Bristol? What is the crime rate? What is the average home cost?
Yes, hospital info would be good too
Of course it has 4 seasons

During race season, how noisy is the speedway? Are there areas of Bristol to live without experiencing car noise and traffic congestion during race days?
There are plenty of areas to live that are not near the raceway. The big races are only a few days a year.
If you don't like cars, motorbikes, and guns don't come here.
@@Andrew-cq3hy I don't mind any of those. I don't like persistent noise.

Is there any rural living in Bristol area?
Yes, every town in this area has rural living.
Be sure to check out the landfill just outside of town before buying. You will probably smell it when you visit.
I found a couple of homes in the area but am really scared of the horror stories regarding the landfill/The Beast! :(

Visit before you move. You can smell the dump. Big problem. Not yet solved.

Seriously though, I always thought that it was just one Bristol and not two.
There is a Bristol Tennessee and a Bristol Virginia. Each are run independently of each other.
