Hey guys! Thank you for watching!
Yesterday we tried Ramadan for the first time.
I have studied a lot about Ramadan and have made many mistakes.
First of all, I did not know that the duration of the fast varies from day to day.
Second, I did not shop enough, not knowing that Malaysians do their evening shopping early.
Next time we'll work these things out and have a perfect Ramadan!

Let me share a tips for beginner, the more you drink water during sahur, your body will flushed out more water..its enough to drink 2 to 3 glass instead a full botled of water.. First 3 days you will feel like out of energy, fatigue and so on but its normal even for a muslim who fasting ever year since our body need time to adapt drastic changes and after that fasting will become much easier..keep it up!

It is okay to make a mistake. As a first timer you have done great. Still got plenty of days and you guys can improve.
Here is my opinion: During Sahur, you can eat whatever you want. Either rice or other than that instead of only Kurma(Dates).
This is because everyone is different. My family usually during Sahur will having a rice and some side dishes. But the preparation needs to be alert with the time (if want to cook).
Or you can just take away from any stalls or mamak. And later during sahur, just re-heat it and eat.
Hope this help. Anyway, I'm proud of you guys already 👍👍

In addition for iftar (berbuka puasa), I suggest you guys to go to the bazaar ramadhan starting from 4.30 pm and above (before iftar time start) because there are so many type of foods and drinks that you guys can buy and try.
Some of stalls would close at 7 pm, according to the quantity of food or drink they sell.
If their products have run out, they will continue to close their stalls to continue breaking their fast.
Happy Ramadhan Days Nobu Shun Poko n Kouji 💚

You can eat more food for sahur, not only kurma.
But don’t eat too much, because it’s not good for your body during the day.
And before the sunset, prepare food with you at least 30 minutes earlier, so when it’s time for berbuka, you can drink & eat right away.

For Sahur, try to take things that will keep you full like oats, wholemeal bread, mixed nuts and milk. Can also add honey to your drinks. Also we usually eat leftovers from the night before as well.
As for iftar, our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) usually iftar with kurma and water first. Food comes later. But don't overeat too much at one go! Good luck!

Don't literally take only eat kurma guys! 😂. Eat any other things that can give more energy, even nasi Briyani also okay, as long as u can eat in early morning.
Drink lots of water starting after berbuka puasa till sahur.
Kurma is sunnah, means, we follow what our prophet did to get extra rewards also, there is goodness in that, surely.
Do something to divert your focus from hunger. Maybe check on internet what food you are going to buy today.
Last but not least, it is fasting, not feasting. We have almost 30days of bazar Ramadhan, so, don't buy every thing in one day. Tomorrow also can eat
    All the best!

    1. Do start ur fast before the morning prayer call. U can check the daily prayer timetable online.
    2. The "buka puasa" will start when you hear the prayer call at dusk, it's around 7.23 if you're in Kuala Lumpur.
    3. The ramadan food bazaar will open as early as 2pm. Come early but if you wish to join the crowd, try visit the food bazaar at around 4pm. Most companies would release their muslim staff to go home earlier throughout ramadan so they can prepare the "buka puasa" at home or anywhere they wish to have it.

Bazar ramadhan open around 4 and above and end during berbuka time. Hopefully next time you will enjoy your puasa properly. its okay to do mistakes on the first try. if u had no idea try your best to ask local malaysian friends. most of them are willing to help

  • @nurul.nijuku
    @nurul.nijuku 2 роки тому +8

For sahur, like everyone said, it's really encouraged to eat meals (like you have for lunch or dinner) so your energy will last longer. You can cook up rice before going to bed (maybe like 11 pm) so when you wake up around 5-5.30am, you can heat up the rice and then just cook a simple dish to eat with rice. A very simple one would be fried egg with soy sauces. 😆 Some people prefer to cook everything before going to bed and put the foods in the fridge, so they can just heat up the foods when they wake up 30 minutes before sahur ends.
Eating kurma is like a side dish, to be a booster for more energy. But of course you can eat more than 3 pieces if you want. It's not a mandatory to eat just 3 pieces. It's just that our Prophet Muhammad loves to eat it in odd quantity (like 3,5,7,...)

U need to go to Bazar Ramadhan early, around 4.30 - 6.00. Usually we tapau/takeaway the food to eat at home. U go after 7, most seller already get ready to go home or ready to break fasting 😁

The safest is to buy food for your iftar way before breakfasting time, around 6pm to 7pm, but if you wanna avoid high traffic before 5pm would be the best.

We tend to feel the time for iftar is long when there’s nothing to do. So maybe by having plans to go outside or doing something can help you kill time and spend the day even more productively while waiting for the iftar😆 tbh i feel like the time flies faster when i have schedules compared to when I’m at home all the time. Goodluck nobu shun poko!🌸

Bazaar Ramadan is from 4pm-7pm. People start buying foods for iftar as early as 4pm. Better luck next time Nobu, Shun, Poko and Kouji. You can eat more food and drink more water during sahur, so that you won't feel too hungry or too thirsty during puasa throughout the day. All the best😊 Selamat berpuasa!

One of the so many things Ramadan make us learn, is the appreciation of the blesses in our lives, the bless that we can drink water, we can eat any delicious food we want at any time, the bless of health & the good life we live! Some people can't drink clean water nor eat good food because they live in bad environment & poverty! Or they cannot eat because they're sick! Allah wants us to feel those in need & feel the bless in our lives & thank him for it. You guys felt how precious water & food is 😊 going through Ramadan will definitely change your whole perspective of life! Alhamdulellah ( thanks to Allah) that we have Ramadan! Also good luck for the rest days! 💪💪 I'm supporting you from afar! 😆 👍👍❤️

When berbuka puasa, start with atleast 1 dates, best with 3 dates for fast energy then drink sweet warm drink like Teh-O (at least 1 cup) to avoid energy drained. Then only eat the rest.

Next time if you wanted to go to Ramadhan Bazaar go around 4pm-5pm, between that time you can find plenty of food. Dont go from 6.30pm onward, most of the stall finish.
For your sahur, you can take any heavy food. Eat kurma/dates during breaking fast before taking heavy meal.

Btw i feel sympathy seeing you guys only ate "dates" and drink water for your breakfast(sahur) .. after this if u fasting again make sure to eat rice or atleast instnt noodles too ..u can also drink milk and fried/boil some egg so u can feel less hungry

Nobu ..., the dates and milk are supposed to be eaten when you break fast ( buka puasa). Meaning at 7.30pm, when you can eat, you should eat 3 dates and some milk or water first, then after 30mins, you can eat your dinner. When you get up at 5.30am , you can eat rice or noodles and any food. Only stop eating and start the fast ( puasa ) at 6.06am. You can go buy or start to prepare the food for dinner when you can eat at 7.30pm. This is why most of the stalls food had finished and sold out. Muslims will buy them abit earlier , then only eat them at 7.30pm.

It's amazing how you guys are actively participating and learning about ramadan and fasting. For sahur, you can also eat bread, rice, some protein etc so that your body have more source of energy especially since you guys are beginner. It depends on how much you need basically but don't eat too much or drink too much during sahur and during berbuka. Semasa berbuka, boleh juga makan sikit-sikit, maksudnya, makan dates (kurma) and drink water first, and eat a little bit of food, rest for 10 minutes or so, and eat again. It can help your body to get used to food again after 1 day of fasting~ The key is to eat moderately to avoid upset stomach and lethargy. I hope you'll have a good experience and become healthier!

in the morning when you get up, pay attention to the time ... it is allowed to eat breakfast as usual, including water to hold and rehydrate your body ... there are no restrictions on what you can or cannot eat is up to you, what you like and what your body needs. but generally we eat light so as not to feel heavy all day...
