- This video is about taking a kid fishing for the first time, and tips for how to take a kid fishing. Learning how to fish can be challenging and frustrating, and some kids will give up on it after a couple of trips where they don't catch anything. There are many things that you can do to ensure their success on their first fishing trip.

Very solid tips. It is so important to make yourself fully available to helping kids learn and keeping it fun for them. It will go much better if you go in with the mindset that today's fishing trip is about kids fishing, or you'll end up frustrated trying to fish yourself and then the kids pick up on your frustration... been there done that.
Agreed
Don’t know why this made me cry maybe because my dad was in deployment when I was younger but I have a fine young lady who wants to learn how to fish and I can catch bass all day but I don’t know how to help someone else catch bass and this helped a lot cheers
Great - glad you enjoyed it. Good luck to the young lady!
Best, concise, no filler, cover all the basics video I've seen on having an adult or parent prepare and teach a kid to fish, and enjoy the experience.
Thanks so much - I appreciate it and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Great tips, wish I came buy this video when I was teaching my twins how to fish. Would have made things more memorable from the beginning.
Thanks for the feedback!
Fishing with Nat - this video also helps adults,as grown men can be more inpatient than kids🤣😅👈
Very true
These are great tips. And a great channel. I grew up out west fishing mostly cats, trout, and heading up through Oregon fishing the salmon and steelhead seasonal runs. I moved to Wisconsin about 20 years ago and I'm finally learning how to fish out here as it's extremely different than the rivers and streams I'm used to out west. More so I'm trying to get my 13 year old daughter interested at the same and it's harder not knowing Midwest fishing myself much yet. So thank you for everything you're doing out here, I'm finding it all very helpful.
Thanks for the comments and hello from Central Wisconsin!
@@FishingwithNat oh nice you're in the central zone. I'm in the Waupaca area. Definitely some fishing opportunity here.
@@Recon_19D3x Yep - the Chain is nice but really busy on weekends. Plenty of other small lakes near Waupaca/Amherst.
Wow.. Very very nice.. Amazing fishing trip.. Success and Good job. 👍🙏
Thank you - I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, i like your all videos 👍👍 from Indonesia
Thanks for the comment and good luck fishing!
Man, I remember when my dad took me fishing for the first time (or the first time that I remember), I used his rod and reel, both really fancy and an inline spinner, man I tangled that mono (so many birds nests on a reel) so many times that day because pike were biting like crazy and I was hot headed and not listening to his advices. Fun day!
Sometimes a kid has to learn the hard way instead of listening to Mom or Dad!
Good input! Show them how much fun it can be, then gradually show them the intricates. 👍
You got it. Thanks for the comment.
great advice, thanks for sharing it
Of course. Thanks for the feedback.
Great advice Nat...the world would definitely be a better place with more fishermen.
Thanks
Not rlly lol
Good Video Friend, I'm doing that with Great Nephew now, he has a vest he wears All the Time, took him to pro shop, 7 ft phenix feather Bass Rod, Diawa Fuego, 12 lb. Izorline braid , nice Flouro top shot, A Good Solid Set up. Ready to Go ! Can't Wait
Wow, you got him all set up! Good luck to you both!
Ty!!
Thank you for watching
Naked reel? Thanks again 😊
I don't like closed reels (spincast). I get kids started on open spinning reels right away.
Rule 101 u can't fish while u doing so 😂😆😂

It's definitely best to focus on the kid learning how to fish and not try to fish yourself.
