Totally defeated the mood he had built up with Comfortably Numb (my 1st time hearing this version which was superb) by twinning it with a wedding reception Dad dancing Brick in the Wall but hey ho...

I saw him in San Francisco this tour. This version caught everyone offguard. some dont like it some do. To me, the somber tone sst the mood. this wasnt going to be a PINK FLOYD HITS show. This had a personal touch/story, and yes political opinions. BUT, nevertheless, I found this arrangement stunning, mournful, and beautiful. It was a mood setter and a message. Hope he comes around 1 last time before calling it quits

This was an okay concert, us and them was okay too, but The wall was by far my favorite. This is not a Drill was my 8th Rodger Waters/PinkFloyd concert. We hold the tickets for 2 years!
Its worth a nod that he needs a host of backup singers to match the single angelic voice of gilmour 👍🏻 All these years later roger still clinging to the wall to fill his pockets.
Well means he wrote most of the wall, he's entitled to fill his pockets. The concert is not JUST the wall, IF you listen to the WHOLE concert. Is Gilmour filling his pockets with The Endless River? Gilmour uses backing singers too, and calling Gilmours voice "angelic" is a bit OTT.

As for not having listened to Floyd, I've got 95% of all their releases, (including ALL of their albums), I'm only missing a couple of 45's. So before sprouting off, try checking out ppls channels. Now I'll go and listen to something of Floyd, but not Meddle, maybe something before Gilmour even joined......
@@blacksabbathmatters Just thought I'd let you know, I got the box set of DSOTM 50th anniversary (deluxe) today..... that makes my Pink Floyd collection total of 280, either on vinyl (mainly), or cd's including THREE versions of Meddle! Still not hearing any angelic voices tho.
I suggest you listen to his Lockdown version...... Gilmour's NOT on that, but its an excellent version, AND by the way it's GILMOUR, I think you'll find that Gilmore was a murderer.
Rogers version of Comfortably Numb used in his shows is absolute torture to listen to. To take an iconic song and alter and manipulate it so badly was such a letdown. Some of the music played was unrecognizable, out of key, off tempo and just a mediocre effort from his backup band. Saw his MSG 8/30/22 show
Unfortunately Roger is so far up his own arse that just a parody of the olden days. They all are, Nick Mason has all the t-shirts, gig stuff in his basement, we did once get a few old ones to auction for charity. Off the guy who looks after his cars, Nick to sell on or two and solve world poverty. I threw all my Floyd stuff into the Bristol channel
That’s exactly why he wrote The Wall, because arsehole letting off fireworks and shouting out the names of their favourite songs in the middle of playing. But of course, if Sir David of GilArse had done this you would all be on his guitarcock like Blackpool rock.
This is a poor example of a iconic song, he will for ever be in the shadow of David Gilmore, and all the arms in the air and swearing is in very poor taste. He should retire, please stop touring.
Every body is different, but personally I like this version. Has something mythic. Class.

This is very creative and in my humble opinion should be taken for what it is. Roger Waters is well entitled to interpret the song as he wishes.
