i remember when the bridge was built to help guests avoid the pirates queue. now it's regularly part of the pirates queue! so much for that idea.
On a particularly busy day at the Park about 13/14 years ago, the wheelchair line was up to the top of that bridge!

I would love to see a portion of the new HM queue right along the railroad tracks so you could catch a glimpse of the train while in line, possibly while in the green canopy area. Properly fenced off but easy enough to wave to passengers.

Enchant keys were back last week in the park on the 7th, I was there Sunday too, The 15th was the all the new image keys that people just purchased plus Sunday was booked up a lot of people went Monday
Going for my birthday the first week of March. Can't wait!!!!!
My wife and I went on Friday and didn’t rush. Went pretty late afternoon. Didn’t know our enchant key didn’t work at the normal parking lot until the last second. We’re newly magic keyed and learning. Loved the tree house. Great views up there. Water cups not working. Went on pirates and it felt WAY too bright in there. And it all just felt off like the old charm was lacking from all the little changes they made. Got on in like 20 min. And it was really busy. Popped over to DCA and it was super crowded there too but it’s Friday. Hoping to see smaller crowds on a Thursday. We also somehow managed to be get on the tram right during the night’s fireworks and were so happy we were already leaving and didn’t have to deal with that mass exodus 😂
Last year Th/Fr were the busiest days on average. Since most people can't afford to go on weekends.
We had passes for a year before we knew about parking discounts. 😂 Most don't know- it's not a good gauge for keybolder crowds. My husband and I wouldn't go to Toy Story since last time it was a LONG walk to the bus, long wait for the bus, no bathroom, then we had to go through security at the busier gate. Not cool. We would *consider* it if it's was totally free by even then...if they still have no actual bathrooms we would say no.
Idk if you knew you can get some special popcorn buckets as a Key holder! Idk if they still have $1 popcorn refills while you have it, last year they did that for a month. ❤ 🍿 🎈
There are bathrooms at Toy Story. They are in the building that is sort of on the other side of a row of trees near the bus loading area. You can find them! I did! 🤗

If they use the left side for LL and the right side for standby, they could load LL at the front boats and standby at the rear without having to mix in anywhere. Then mix DAS riders with mobility devices in from the unload dock as normal and it wouldn’t really muck things up. Keeping my fingers crossed this is what they do.
i htink that is what they're doing and I also think this is better than mixing them at some point. keeps both queues moving.
This is my hope. You’ll halve the capacity of the standby line, but at least you won’t get stuck in a line that doesn’t move.
If they do this, they can still utilize a mix point at the dock. They can always stop the standby line and load both boats from the LL queue if it gets too backed up. And if the LL queue empties out, they will obviously load both boats from the standby queue. @@FreshBakedDisney
The train announcement, bell, chug chug chug, and main street loop is GOLDEN!
I love taking the Disneyland Rail Road to get somewhere, but taking it a whole loop around first so you make sure you see the Dinosaurs, e.g. took it from Main Street to the Tomorrowland depot for the Monorail, so 1 2/3rds trips around

Very interesting point about the enchant key holders, maybe it’s just me but my gf and I go every Tuesday evening, and we never seem to run into any crowds. It will be interesting to see if enchant key holders start utilizing the new availability.
My husband and I have Magic Keys and we don't park at Toy Story, the discount isn't worth it. Do they even have bathrooms??? I also don't like entering at that side of the park, and the parking being uncovered all adds up. It think passholders should get discounted parking no matter the parking lot.
I think we would consider Toy Story if it was free. Even then not used to having to stop at fast food place to use bathroom.
I think using parking as a gauge for how many key holders are there is not solid

I rode the fire truck down main street at night during Christmas and it was the most magical things I have ever experienced.
Plazza inn brought back the Cobb Salad, its one of my favorite Park Lunches!! The Chicken Dinner is the best Park dinner in my opinion, i wish i could make chicken that good 😋

The line for Pirates moves fast!
I was at pirates when this was filmed. The left side queue was VIP and ambulatory DAS. From check point to boat was about 2 minute wait with 40 minutes on the board.
I'm surprised David didn't comment on it, right around 24:25 in the video there are some posts in the left queue covered in green. Those look like the right size/position for the barcode scanners for lightning lane

I can confirm, my wife was there on Monday with my son who has a DAS pass, only accessible DAS holders enter through the back on Pirate's. All others, as usual, enter through the Genie plus lane. Thus the left lane at Pirate's.

I know what you mean about that exhale. A friend of mine (who would have loved your channel if she were still alive) used to also make note of it. She said that it wasn't until that involuntary sigh that you were actually "there." I think I agree. I've noticed it ever since.

Do you think they increased the number of reservations available? SoCal Disney Dad was there in Tuesday the 16th and he said it was super packed that day as well, which seems interesting for technically off season.

Enchant keys were back as of January 7th. Maybe it was all the Imagine key holders?
Going to Disneyland next week for one day, what is the best day (slowest) to be able to experience the park as much as I can
David, I was there yesterday and the Pirates queue was back to normal style. Far left was DAS, right side had two lanes just like before. I went left, and unfortunately that's the side that mixes with DAS people, so I had to wait an additional 5-10 minutes longer than people in the right lane. What you saw could've been a one day only thing.

The most frustrating aspect of Pirates being on genie+ is that Disney will probably find a reason to redo the pirates line too after all this is done with Splash and Haunted
Disney can't cuz the space for it is just not there, and if they dif it would ruin the walkways abd the flow of guest traffic in New Orleans and edge of Adventureland
They just refurbed it not long ago. I miss the part of the line that stretched between the building and the Treehouse. I miss knocking on the doors and having people inside the building knock back. But the line does change every few years.
Probably not, but it’s frustrating that they’ll probably try keeping on Genie+ after Haunted Mansion opens back up.
Everyone forgets Pirates used to be on fastpass. They got rid of it because it wasn’t needed. I have no doubt pirates LL is temporary.

FreshBaked. David, The best thing going at the moment is having the Main St. vehicles out at night. Who ever decided to do this should be the next president of Disneyland. The "Plaza Inn" is still how it was when it re-opened in 1965. The movie set designer who modelled "Walt's Apartment," ( Emile Kuri ) scoured Los Angeles old mansions to find individual items to grace the interior dining rooms. Walt and Lilly even brought items back from a trip to Europe for the Inn. A great day all round. Cheers, Chris Perry.

there are yes. they're to the left of bag check area as you face it before entering. on the bullseye side.
We were at Disney on Sunday and for pirates they were testing mixing guests at the doors. They let the left side line enter both doors, then switched and let the right side line enter both doors. New left side queue went all the way back tween pirates and the treehouse
My guess is it will be similar to Star Tours where there are 2 lines after the mix point and both LL and Standby can be sent to either side

Mickey and Friends was closed in the morning for some reason, friend had to drive to the pixar entrance assuming you know how to get there. Also, noticed Storybook was still in holiday skin

Why are the walls up between the Blue Bayou and the ride? Is that permanent? I always loved seeing the people sitting there, and then the one time I ate at the Bayou, the ride.

It’s been awhile but I’m trying to get back into my Disney phase. I love the parks but they’ve changed SO MUCH since the last time I went. I feel like I don’t know any of the secrets anymore since even the lingo seems to have changed
I’m at the park today and the pirates line has absolutely ruined the experience, I was so mad that I didn’t enjoy the ride at all. Then I politely filed a complaint with CM’s. I recommend anyone who feels the same way go talk to the help desk CM’s.

When i first learned about how easy it is to get DAS and how it isnt only people who actually need it is really disheartening. Watching large groups of people walk on to radiator springs and such with DAS with no one in their group with mobilities issues is really challenging
I appreciate Disney being inclusive and their efforts have paid off vs the 70s - early 2000s where people with disabilities largely couldn't make it very long in the park or just abstained
It just seems that people are really abusing DAS and how easy it is to get and abuse

i thought that at first, but Pirates will basically have the run of NOS. Haunted Mansion closes the same day, so there will be nobody else in the area to clog up the streets.

DAS is the Disability Assistance System that helps folks with mobility issues.
When you got in the Pirate's queue, you said you were starting your wait time. When I figure queue wait time, I don't start till I stop walking for the first time.
In most queues, that would be a massive 15-30 second difference. How detailed are your review criteria? Down to the second? I think most folks wouldn’t be more detailed than how many minutes the line takes.
Question: It's been years since I've been in it BUT why doesn't Disney use the extra queue space along the left side of the building? There are 3 (or 4) extended queue sections (separated by doors) beside the building that they don't seem to remember that they have. It would shorten the grossly long queue that winds around aimlessly before making it's way under the gateway/bridge. Every time I see the "outside the ride boundary" queue I'm reminded of the vacant queue space beside the building that isn't being used. The queue has turned into the new "stroller parking" eyesore. Eventually Disney did what they could about the stroller encampments but queues that extend deeply into the pedestrian walkways are equally bothersome. If the side queue could be implemented, the extra queue in the walkways would be significantly shortened.

@@FreshBakedDisney Thanks for commenting on my post. Could you shine a light on the current state of Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room? I visited it a couple of weeks ago and was taken aback by the level of malfunctioning animatronics in there. The "girls" no longer "go round and round", the tree of life in the forecourt no longer has "new life falling". The decending planters are populated with mostly non-moving singing flowers as are the corner plants who have bent and misshapen "mouths". Is this attraction up for a refurbishment anytime soon? Both the attraction and myself were "born" in the same year (1963) and whenever someone asks me what my favorite thing about Disneyland is, I always tell them "Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room"...and that's no lie. I feel Walt presence in there.

Ironically, the queue setup at Pirates highlights the major issue with every other LL - the mix point. That's where the problems start - standby guests have to wait around while LL get sent through, lines grind to a halt, and wait times go through the roof. With no mix, everyone can just keep moving like normal. At Pirates, the standby queue will probably continue to regulate itself, because it will still be constantly processing riders - and if it ever gets too long, people just won't get in it. Meanwhile, LL guests can still "skip" the line, because they'll have their own dedicated entrance. Maybe they could even backfill LL boats with standby guests as well. Dare I say, this actually feels like a win-win? TBH, if they're reworking the Mansion queue, I hope they find a way to avoid the mix there as well. I think it could also be implemented at Matterhorn, or any other ride with multiple loading zones.
i'm hoping they stick with this so we can put that to the test, because so far, I have to agree with you. it's the mix that kills stand by.
