with the mclaren ford incident around 7 minutes: even ignoring the track limits stuff, the ford is putting itself into a non-existent gap assuming that the mclaren is going to immediately move over to the outside for the parabolica, mclaren did nothing wrong and the ford was just being super impatient and stupid

Mclaren did nothing wrong, but he potential could have ruined other peoples races by not just moving left. In real racing you have to let the ford back on the track for saftey sake and let the stewards handle it.

True, the McLaren is in the right. But it also got them wrecked out of the race. So the McLaren probably should have given a bit of space ultimately if their own race was of any concern, and not being annoyed that someone is trying to illegally pass you.

Can we pick some more controversial clips to review? The top clips on that subreddit are always super obvious and rarely debatable. I recommend sorting by "controversial" so we can see how to evaluate less clear cut situations. I still love this series and will always watch no matter what. Keep it up and as always thanks for the incredible videos Jimmer!!

6:49 ACC Driver here ... thats all legal (inside) Track Limits ^^ You can abuse the white Line and the Curb A LOT in Ascari. Even on the Exit, if you are right beside the Curb (with the left Tire being BEHIND the Curb) its still inside the Track Limits.

    • @Kompoism
      @Kompoism Місяць тому +6

    • @RotGoblin

Dunno why that Mustang was decided to overtake where there was no room. Regardless of track limits they had a better exit and opted for the 3% on the right and not the 97% on the left. I bet "I want the inside line" mentality was at play and they ended up doing whatever they could to stay on the inside, and not take the outside and, honestly by the end of the straight probably just be fully ahead.

Can you do that?). There is so much ego in Sim Racing, even from that weirdo down in 29th who's defending like he's trying to win the GT World Cup. It is simply a fact of life that at some point and sometimes, someone will be better then you or IS better then you. Its pretty much as certain as Life, Death and taxes at this point so stop fighting it. As one particular Alien once said (Threatningly): "You merely delay the inevitable"

No offence but I think you haven't tried the Mustang in Monza, nor even played ACC. ACC has very tolerant track limits, in some places being 4 wheels out of the white line IS valid. Watch a hotlap on Monza with the Mustang in ACC (such as Fri3dolf's) and you'll see that the guy at 6:16 is in track limits. You need to jump over those kerbs with the Mustang compared to other cars in ACC due to it's ride height and soft suspensions. That's how you become fast, by going to the limits.

It’s the same in iRacing. You can cross it without a penalty. But from a stewarding point of view it’s still a white line that assists in marking the track boundary, and you need to take into account the fact that he chose to drive beyond it before trying to squeeze his way past on the right. If there was no McLaren there it would be fine.

What you said on the last clip is really important and something I wish so many people would understand and start applying. Overly defensive drivers are the most insufferably petty individuals I've ever seen. If someone is being overall faster than you, let them pass! At equal car status (fuel, tires, brakes etc), if you have to constantly defend for more than a full lap, you just don't deserve that position and should let your opponent in front cause you're just being an oversensitive capricious killjoy there.
Depending on what state of mind the person behind is in, you'll either cause a wreck, get somewhat deservedly punted out of track, or just make them extremely frustrated of having to be nice and clean with you when, despite being within the rules, you're obviously being an asshole.

The Corvette Le Man Ultimate, the rejoining Corvette stayed on the inside, and the racing Corvette was cutting into the apex WAY TO SOON. In my opinion.

Indicent 2 on Forza happened to me yesterday. I ended up punting the guy into the barrier and only got a 0.50 second penalty (we were in 2nd and 3rd).
I ended up rage quitting because even though it wasn't necesarrily my fault I felt guilty.

The thing i don't understand about the LMU clip is why did the guy rejoin to the right side of the track unless it was an intentional crash?
Not only are you putting people in danger by doing so, but you're also compromizing your next corner by yourself for no reason... 🤦

Hey Jimmy, and the wider community! I need some help. Now this problem is completely a ME problem, its self inflicted and self depreciating. But id love some advice from anyone who has been there, done that and got the tshirt. Cocaine is my issue, i waste my money on the stuff every weekend, its a habit, i wish i didnt, i wish i could save that money for my own projects. I have an E36 turbo build and a 28ft classic racing yacht that should be taking priority. But as soon as friday hits i throw my spare change at beer and gear. Its not taken over my life, but it certainly blocks my progression, its not within the week, but its £50 every weekend. I know its stupid, i want to stop, i make that promise to myself and then i brake it as soon as i finish work on a friday. Im not influenced by anyone, its my own decision. Its a massive waste, of money and my morning the next day. I wish i could stop but i dont know how, its like impulsivity overrides my logical thinking. I dont want to do it anymore, i want to put my time, passion and money into my projects instead but its like i dont have control over myself, can anyone help? Has anyone been in my shoes? I know it seems like such a trivial thing "just dont do it" but its not that simple. The obvious is to say stop drinking, which makes sense, but i love to have a end of week drink with my girlfriend. I cant go to the pub and not drink, i cant drink without cocaine. I wish i could just stay inside on the weekend evenings and blast on Asseto Corsa but i have to go and socialise, and the minute i do that i make poor decisions. Help.

And before anyone gets petty and comments about my lack of money earnings, im a self employed marine engineer, most of my money gets invested into my business for tools, an accountant and cashflow so that i can serve my customers by purchasing parts and charging them in lieu, i pay myself just enough to cover rent, expenses and some "me" money. The issue is i throw away my "me" money on my habit.

In the first video the BMW is DOUBLE guilty IMO. They were so erratic in the beginning and took themselves out.
