Forgiveness is often portrayed as a gift to the one who wronged you, but in reality, it's a gift you give to yourself. Holding onto resentment is like clutching a hot coal with the intention of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned. By forgiving, you liberate yourself from the emotional bondage of past events, reclaiming your inner peace. It doesn't mean you condone the act or forget the pain it caused, but you choose to release its power over you. In forgiving, you take back control of your own narrative, allowing you to move forward in life unburdened by the weight of unresolved anger or sorrow. In this sense, forgiveness is not just an act of compassion towards another but an act of profound self-love.

If Godly leaders are humble before the mistake, during the mistake, and after the mistake is more understandable acceptable.
If they are arrogant before the mistake, during the mistake and after the mistake not good. None of us are perfect but our approach can allow grace and wisdom.

That works when the individual is not a narcissistic. Forgiveness is still called as people of faith but definitely soms folks who are narcissistics can weaponize those apologies. Your son sounded very mature.

It is true. I had a fall out with my mother in law, I reacted the way I did because I didn't feel accepted by her. It took 3 years of God dealing with me, and I finally went and apologised, without raising any of my concerns. My mother in law now defends me like nobody's business and she sees me as her daughter. It is absolutely true. It is wonderful to be taught by God. And this whole thing makes sense now.

God gave us free will so the ppl that hurt us or betray us deeply was not part of God’s plan for me. He doesn’t want that darkness in my life. Ppl can’t use the excuse The Devil made me do it. It’s verbal and emotional abuse. And you have to let those ppl go for peace. Even if it’s family.

I'm confused why it was okay for David to kill the messenger who said they killed Saul? That part seemed to be breezed by. Wasn't that showing David's offense, taking revenge? What made that a good choice, was that mans life not of value in Gods eyes?

Yeah. Leaders are humans too just like the ones they lead. David is just such a good example of how he honored saul.
