That's Fitzgerald Rods. Love em! I treat them rough and do not worry about over stressing the rod. I have not had any issues. Many folks say I put too much pressure on the fish...but my goal is to put the fish in the boat quickly. Thanks for watching!

I'm using a Penrod with 6lb Nanofil and a modified lure,its now a lipless Jerk Bait,originaly its a 2 1/2" diver /floater from Rebel but i removed the lip so now it stays on top.Shane has on the Rapala Skitter Prop which actually surprised my and caught some really nice fish!

No I have not. I'am using the Fitzgerald Rods now. I was using the Shimano brand for years. They make great sticks.

This is crazy, peacock bass in Florida! Who brought that to such a distant place?
andré Garcia Andre, we have had peacock here since 1985. The government brought them here to control the other exotic fish in our water ways.
They don't seem to jump much when hooked so I guess I'd prefer the smallmouth over 'em.
The Peacock is pound for pound a harder more aggressive fighter.

How soon will Florida see a 10 or 15lbs Peacock bass? I've also heard that peacock bass love Snakehead small fry...is this true? If so, why isn't there a bait that looks like a small snakehead? Many thanks Capt. Shane!
they brought peacocks to to control the invasive species and thats what they are doing but peacock bass are not native so they dont feed on just 1 type of baitfish so if you throw something that stands out in the water i can almost guarantee you can catch a peacock
