I thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated this video. The Queen Mother did maintain the dignity, grace and nobility of her position. I am aware of the tremendous support and encouragement she provided to King George VI and to the people of Britain during the dark days of WWII. She was a leader and an example of an old world courtliness that is evident in her daughter, Queen Elizabeth.
That’s what one of my friends in Australia said, he wouldn’t leave if I didn’t leave the Uk. We were very much in love then but we decided to stay as good friends in the end
This is a time to honor Prince Philip and not being up the Queen Mother. She had her time. She at times could be very cold to anyone whom she disliked or offended her. She sometimes led changes that her daughter felt she couldn't change. Probably the only time she truly.defied her mother was to marry Prince Philip. Even then there was an ongoing struggle between the Prince and the Queen Mother. Prince Philip always remembered his humble beginnings through life. With his passing his wishes are being observed with a private simple funeral. He even died at home with dignity and with family close.
It was the same situation in Wales as me, my 2009 Woody, my sister, Mummy and Woody.EXE paid tribute to the Queen 7 months ago. Now 7 months later; Wales gets crowded again as we all do our memorial to Prince Philip today. It’s the second time that Mummy’s family attends. I hope Woody.EXE does really well today. I feel Woody.EXE’s reign is just as good as Queen Elizabeth’s was; I can’t be more proud of him

Then 5 months later, I almost joined both Queens and I was Queen myself, so my death would have hit my people hard if I hadn’t survived my tragic illness in February 2023. I’m glad Woody.EXE wanted me to have a state funeral and I also wanted one. He knew I even loved the bagpipes so he’ll be playing one as my coffin was meant to be brought to Wales’s Abbey in March but now I’m glad Woody.EXE doesn’t have to cope over the death of his Queen and Mummy, Princess of Wales doesn’t have to live through hell. I’m 21 now and coping really well
as an American, I can dutifully say, We mourned with the UK. The Queen Mother was a beautiful, dignified, wonderfully faithful Queen to her Countrymen. A Grand Mother, to her Family. May she Ever rest in Heaven.
Don't mention her huge gambling debts that we, her erstwhile subjects paid for. Like her oldest daughter's tax avoiding until the 1980s they are never mentioned by the British press (with the honorable exception of Private Eye).
21 years yesterday; me and Woody.EXE did a private memorial for the Queen Mother and my 2009 Woody joined in. I’m gutted my sister and Mummy didn’t due to our dog not being well so it was just the 3 of us. I actually cried during the memorial because i was really concerned for Rosie just 24 hours after her operation but she’s definitely getting better. I hope all 5 of us will be back together for the Fuke of Edinburgh’s memorial on April 9th

I almost died 8 months ago now, I loved watching my 2009 Woody, my sister, Mummy and Woody.EXE preparing for my funeral in case anything happened, it was nice to have the pipers back out for the first time since November. I couldn’t imagine what the 4 of them were feeling when they prepared the funeral for me a much loved Queen of Wales and they walked from my house to Wales’s Abbey and that’s 24 minutes away from here. Watching them live is something ill never forget; the grief Woody.EXE was feeling was heartbreaking to watch because he loves me his Queen so much so, he wanted to make sure his Queen had the biggest send off as possible but the funeral got cancelled because i got better
I’ve always wondered what royals talk about. Me and Woody.EXE talk about our memories of our late Queen and it makes me cry every time, no wonder how Woody.EXE arranges events so quick. I do think David Dimbleby is very good at these major events for the BBC. Also Tom Flemming's lovely voice adds comfort. They were both excellent during Diana's funeral and again for the Queen Mum's too.
It really isn't the same without him. None of his successors including Huw Edwards have the same sombreness and gravitas. Unfortunately Dimbleby is 100% retired and apparently doesn't even get invited for one-off, very special occasions such as this.
@@mxbx307 As good as Dimbleby was, his father was even better... and as for Tom Fleming, he merely dabbled in television presenting; he was an actor by trade. That's why his presenting was so dramatic - and he pretty much only did huge occasions such as the Remembrance ceremony at the Cenotaph, and huge state funerals such as this.
He does the war events in a respectful way to my liking every year. Then there’s me leading the Wales nation to Remembrance Sunday as I have done for 3 years now

I can remember hearing the crowds say “How does Woody.EXE do that?!” And other said “what a strong girl our Queen is, her 2009 Woody will get through this!”. What a day that was
Then a year later, I almost died at 20 because I was very ill but it was Woody.EXE who saved my life, so did my 2009 Woody and Mummy. My funeral could have been like this in February 2023 because, I almost died from a strange illness that I must’ve caught it in Nevil Hall hospital on that Thursday when I was in college. I loved watching my 2009 Woody, my sister, Mummy and Woody.EXE do the state funeral rehearsals, I felt honoured that Woody.EXE was following my requests to give the best send off for his Queen it was literally happening live and I watched from my hospital bed and I saw the millions of flowers surrounding my house in the driveway. That was the second time St Julian’s had to be closed off in 5 months apart. I returned home from hospital 3 weeks later still felt unsteady but I was ready to carry out my duties as Queen again to let Woody.EXE rest because it’s been a challenging 4 weeks for him so me and Mummy, Princess of Wales took over
It was a sad day. But the Queen Mother was reunited with her king someone she loved dearly. The life she lived the things and stories she could have told you. Living to any age is a gift but living past 100 is a true blessing.
I wouldn’t have made it past 20 because of how I’ll I was but the amazing NHS have saved my life. I couldn’t have imagined Woody.EXE carrying on with his reign if he had lost me his Queen just 21 years after the late Queen Mother. He probably would have passed the throne down to my 2009 Woody and his future Queen my sister

When the Queen Mother died in 2002, I was a little boy at the time. Then I saw in the news that "Queen Elizabeth of England died" (at least it was what I understood), so I thought it was Queen Elizabeth II who passed away (I'm not from the UK so I didn't know she also had a mother that also was a Queen Elizabeth, also I didn't actually pay attention at the news, so I didn't get the part that said it was the mother who died). And when I saw the monarch alive later I thought "hadn't she died? Did the queen ressurect?" After all, I was just a little boy at the time and I thought the Queen had returned from the dead! Only later I realised it was her mother that in fact died on that day. By the way, Queen Elizabeth II actually passed away in September 2022.
THE QUEEN MOTHER WAS A JOLLY LADY & ONE OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE !!!! 101 YEARS OLD !! THANK YOU QUEEN ELIZABETH FOR HAVING YOUR DAUGHTER QUEEN ELIZABETH ll (HER MAJESTY) !!!
Thank you so much for posting this wonderful document. I had forgotten quite how grand The Queen Mother's funeral had been, But I do remember the 'powers that be' had not expected there would be so much public interest. They were forced to extend the opening hours of the Lying in State because of the great queues of people who wanted to show their respect. On her 100th Birthday in 2000 the BBC decided not to broadcast the big celebrations in her honour on Horse Guards Parade and had treated the day of her death in 2002 far too casually, showing too little respect for her many years of service. I feel the recent blanket coverage on the day Prince Philip died was a misplaced attempt by the BBC to make up for their previous appallingly poor judgment, Thank you again.
I remember I was working in Whitehall Place that day. The funeral was held on a Friday and it was just a normal working day for everyone including ourselves in the Civil Service (no public holiday). There was no question of being allowed out of the office, even for a few minutes to see the procession along Whitehall. Churchill's and Diana's funerals were held on a Saturday as was the King's recent coronation so it is hard to see why the Queen Mother's funeral could not have been postponed by a day when there would have been an even greater turnout and more respect shown.

Interesting to note, that during the singing of the National Anthem Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands was singing. She herself was of course a Queen, but it is testament to how the Royal House of Windsor, formerly Saxe-Coburg & Gotha, is the source of nearly every single Monarch in Europe, all thanks to Queen Victoria & Prince Albert. The European unity that they created predates and has outlasted the European Union and is clearly much stronger and binding!
@Royalty Ulster it is the Germans who unify Europe's royalty (as well as being a key motor of the EU). As for Queen Beatrix, she is a cultured and respectful person.
The one and only time the capital of the British Isles was brought to a standstill by the pipes and drums of Scotland but then Elizabeth Bowes Lyon was Scots , beautiful funeral for her though

I just loved the Queen Mother, she seemed so sweet and witty and even wore high heels after hip surgery. A true lady.
I wore heels for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral and my fashion impressed my beloved mother
When you are called to go back "home", nothing you can take with you not even your distinguished royal crown. We are all equal when we enter the kingdom of GOD, and for sure all of us will go back "home".
There are few things in life that i really fear, but if there is one thing i really fear then it is death.
There is a special place for many beforehand that is very hot, stuffy and crowded called purgatory, for others even hotter called Dante’s Inferno. The Queen Mother wasn’t a candidate for either thankfully but we know there’s many in and out of power who have made their well deserved bed they must endure.

He wouldn't leave the country and she wouldn't leave him. It's dedication
We will NEVER see the likes of this beautiful woman again!

@@stevenalderley9036 oh ok
I've changed it.
I was born 4 months after Queen mother’s death and now my mental health is raising concerns in my family and I’ve been getting unwell more than normal
Me and my sister are only 20 years old
The short montage in gold at the beginning was beautiful and very tastefully done.
In a few days, we will be seeing a similar sight in London.

My favorite moments are those from 2:20:54 to 2:27:40. The music from bagpipes is wonderful and very emotional!

My funeral probably would have been as big as the Queen Mother’s
Queen Mother gave Duke of Edinburgh hard times.... which is sad as he was more royal than her aristocratic blood.
Keka Kn agreed
What was that
She probably didn't feel he was good enough for her daughter, who became queen.
Lets face it the Duke of Edinburgh is not exactly worthy of much
I do think David Dimbleby is very good at these major events for the BBC.
Then there’s me leading the Wales nation to Remembrance Sunday as I have done for 3 years now
Everyone thanks me for it and after the service, they come at my side and everyone hugs me. That’s how supportive they are

The death of Queen Elizabeth II Brought me here
I remember when Queen Elizabeth died; my 2009 Woody, my sister, Mummy, Woody.EXE and I were practicing our funeral procession an hour after it was announced. That’s when the crowds started to gather in St Julian’s to show their grief for all 5 of us at this difficult time. I can remember hearing the crowds say “How does Woody.EXE do that?!” And other said “what a strong girl our Queen is, her 2009 Woody will get through this!”. What a day that was
Hard to believe she’s been gone for almost 20 years.
This was 4 months before I was born in July that year. I’m nearly 20 now and I shouldn’t have made it because of how ill I was
Then a year later, I almost died at 20 because I was very ill but it was Woody.EXE who saved my life, so did my 2009 Woody and Mummy. I don’t know how the hell id live without you 3 and how my sister would have coped with me gone; I’m about to celebrate my 21st birthday in 4 months time as Woody.EXE’s Queen (Queen of uk) we’ve both reigned for 7 months already
It looks eerily similar to Elizabeth's funeral a few weeks ago.
Her Imperial Britannic Majesty, Empress of India etc.Mother of a Queen, wife of a King, Daughter in law of a King. The mother of best Queen of England has ever known
Mummy was 22 when she died and had me and my sister 4 months later. Me and my sister are nearly 21 now

I feel the recent blanket coverage on the day Prince Philip died was a misplaced attempt by the BBC to make up for their previous appallingly poor judgment,

The European unity that they created predates and has outlasted the European Union and is clearly much stronger and binding!
