      João César And about the keys? If you tested other Piano models before buy the Arius,could you do a "comparative"? Im looking for a Celviano AP-700 but I read that the Arius GH3 Keyboard is heavy and great. I need a great keyboard to play classic.

    Hi, I always watch your channel! I have two questions. First: What is the difference between this piano and the P125? Which one is the best in your opinion? Thank you!

    • @kraftmusic
      @kraftmusic  4 роки тому +2

      The YDP163 has been discontinued and replaced by the YDP164. The most noticeable difference between these models is the key action. The YDP164 (like the YDP163 before it) has the GHE graded hammer action, which is superior to the GHS action found in the P125 (and YDP144). You'll also notice more powerful built-in speakers and a few additional sounds on the YDP164. Thanks for watching!

    Hey, nice presentation. I wanted to know if you would recommend this piano for a player that is serious about playing the piano and is going to start taking lessons? And if so, how long can I play on this one until I need to upgrade to a new piano? Thanks in advance.

    • @mikeythemouse6270
      @mikeythemouse6270 8 років тому +1

      As a professional piano player, personally I would not recommend this piano . It is great for performance but in no way it is great for learning the piano. You see , as it was explained in the video , this piano has a "grand piano feel" to it . The mechanics of the keys are made so that it is easier for the player to play and enjoy his music . As a second instrument it would be just great to have this in the house or elsewhere. But easier does not mean better - the fingers get used to the "easy playing keyboard" and if you play elsewhere on another piano , it may be a struggle to play and get used to the stiffness of the keys of a proper piano. Remember , the real pianists only choose the real instrument over a digital one . Good luck in your studies!

    Which one is better? Yamaha YDP-163 vs Roland F-140R
    sound sampling from Yamaha or sound modelling from Roland? Roland claims sound modelling is much more natural. Is that true?

    • @yiiyatschan1395
      @yiiyatschan1395 7 років тому +5

      Personally, I go for the F-140R. I've played quite a few digital pianos of both Roland and Yamaha, including the YDP-163 and F-140R, and both Roland's touch and sound make it feel more alive compared to Yamaha's, in my opinion.

    • @Katsgezellig
      @Katsgezellig 6 років тому

      ehsan83 I played this piano in a store and compared it to a Roland f140r and it was so digital sounding compared to the Roland.. better go for the Roland f140r. Of course you have to see for yourself since everyone has their own taste. But i was very dissapointed by the Yamaha ydp 163 it sounds so different from this demo.. very cold sound and unrealistic.. also lower tones didnt impress

    • @benjaminsmith2287
      @benjaminsmith2287 6 років тому

      I play a f140r a lot. It's not bad. But ultimately, I prefer the Yamaha's sound and action. At first, the Roland's action seems nicer but in time, I feel the Yamaha's works better. But, I tihnk when it comes to sound and feel, that's personal. You shouldn't go with anyone else's opinion but your own. I don't think one is "better" than the other. Roland and Yamaha are both very solid pianos and their marketing will always say they are better than their competitors.

      Better go for the Roland f140r. Speakers of the Roland rp102 are Just too weak. I was very dissapointed by the sound of the Yamaha ydp 163. Very cold and lower notes didnt impress. I personally would not buy the ydp 163. Yamaha makes good piano's but the ydp 163 is not one of Them in my opinion. Sounds very cold and digital (i tested all 3 piano's in the store in mentioned above)

    hi. how good is this compared to yamaha p115?

    • @bilarion
      @bilarion 7 років тому +3

      Hi, I tried both at a music store today. This has far better (and bigger) speakers than the P-115, so better sound in general.
      Also the keys are made from synthetic ivory, so they feel better, unlike P-115 that feel a little clunky and plasticky.
      Finally, the action on the Arius YDP-163 is supposed to be closer to the real thing. It's heavier than the P-115 action (heard someone say that the keys on 163 are slow and sluggish), but in the end, it comes down to personal preference.
      In summary, I rate the quality/clunkiness of the keys to: P-115 < YDP-143

    • @patricknunez16

      bilarion what is better. The YDP 163 OR the P255?

    • @bilarion
      @bilarion 7 років тому +1

      P255 is more of a stage piano (portability). The YDP 163 is a furniture-style piano.
      Now for the technical stuff:
      Both have the same sound sampling (CF Engine)
      Both have synthetic ivory keytops and matte black keytops.
      P255 has the GH key action, YDP 163 has the GH3, which is better (3 sensors vs GH's 2). This allows for more expressivity. You won't notice if you're a beginner.
      P255 has more polyphony (256) vs YDP 163 (192). Not a huge difference to be honest.
      P255 has more voices (24 vs 10).
      YDP 163 has more powerful speakers (2 x 20W). P255 has 2 x 15W.
      So, if you want a more basic piano with good quality that you don't want to move around at all, go for the YDP 163.
      If portability is an issue for you, get the P255. They are similar quality-wise.
      Note: Key action is the most important feature of a digital piano. Even though GH3 is better, some people find it heavy and sluggish. I would strongly recommend that you test both pianos before making any purchase!

    At 1:12 the cable sticking right out of the earphone jack indicates the sound is not coming thru the piano's internal speakers. Why can you not be honest and use the internal speakers when filming an official demo, or at least disclose what kind of amplification you are using?
