It is worth it. I just completed the Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate today 5th June 2023. Although, I spend an average of 12 hours every day for 30 days. I enrolled on 05th May 2023. I started the program without any background other than myself-taught python basic, both today, I can use Linux, Suricata, SQL, Python, and Splunk tools. It helped me to develop security mindset. I am really happy. Mind YOU, IT ALSO GIVES 30% discount for CompTIA certification. Next two weeks will be preparation for interviews and elevation pitch is next. I am sure I will be in the first 10 CANDIDATES to complete it today. That is if there are people are also crazy marathon learners like me. I penned down every word from the videos, made note from the reading and worked all the lab activities. My notebook is about 600 PAGES. I just wanted it to sink into my brain so I recall them unconsciously. It was a great moment for me especially someone who is new to cybersecurity. During this month, i spent 318 hours learning cybersecurity, checking your reference resources and caught extra bit completion certificate from Cyberprotect and DoD unclassified training. It is time to go and complete my IT SUPPORT Professional Certificate that I stopped at course 2 to enable me complete Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate. I can assure you that your life will change if you take the courses lie your life depend on it. Use the extra suggestion resources. The more you expose yourself to cybersecurity resources the more it becomes easier for you. Increase exposure to those materials is more like you are training your brain repeatedly. It is difficult, especially, if one is new to tech. But it is doable

I discovered the awesome talent of Google while working on my MS in Organizational Leadership, Project Management Specialization. Then my mom suggested why don't you get a job in IT, so Cyber Security was the next logical thought for me, given the rapid growth of the digital age. I'm absolutely loving these videos and courses. Will jobs be satisfied with this course? Or will still require a bachelor and 10 years of IT experience. The job market is so competitive right now. I have a bachelors in psychology with a background on UX design but I fear that’s not what they want.

This isn’t the complete course. I’m actually taking the course and I use these videos for study and refresher. If you want the complete course you’re going to need to pay for it. The complete course has the practical exercises and tests.

please help, iam a BCA Cybersecurity final year student,last two years of my collage i learned nothing even the basics ,my cgpa is very low ,what should i do now, should i focus on certificates from learning basics to up,or should i focus on collage getting some marks i have seen your videos and understand the importance of skills and the certificates which help us to achieve the skills,but iam asking this question because here while hiring everyone is asking about degree and cgpa also,in my collage itself 80%marks is required for attending interviews
I'm very interested in this certificate program. My main concern is that I see that the vast majority of cybersecurity jobs on hiring websites require a bachelors degree in IT and/or several years in IT tech support. Am I missing something?
That's my big concern. I feel like we are going to complete this and then they will be like well... You actually still need this this this and this. It's a small price for the first step though if that is the case.
@@josereyes1148 I think there is some truth to that but I've heard it said many times that this is a field where you never stop learning. This is intended to get you on the right track and start with fundamentals. CompTIA Network+ and Sec+ would probably be great next goals to achieve. You may get lucky and land a job right out of the gate but I suspect in most cases the more hands-on you have with tools and the more in-depth knowledge you have will greatly increase your ability to be hired and income.
It's been roughly a month since I wrapped up that course, and let me tell you, the deeper I delved into it, the more I realized how much I still have to learn. Cybersecurity is a field where the more you know, the more you realize there's so much more to explore. The constant changes and updates keep you on your toes, always pushing you to keep learning. After updating my resume, I decided to give it a shot and applied to a few places. Surprisingly, I received some calls, but deep down, I didn't feel quite ready yet. So, I made the decision to buckle down and focus on studying for the security+ certification. I believe that additional credential will help me gain the confidence and knowledge I need to excel in the field. Oh, and if you're considering pursuing a degree, you might want to check out WGU. Cybersecurity UA-camrs swear by it, claiming they were able to obtain their degrees in just a few months through this online university. It's definitely worth looking into if you're keen on furthering your education in a flexible and efficient manner.

I went to Cousera but, I couldn't find any contact number for support. I did go through the community as well wherein students were sharing information but in some cases where the needs were not getting addressed, it made me reluctant to join the course. I was hoping to get continuous support throughout the course. Can you please help me in this?
I suscribed at Coursera. What kind of support you expect during all the course? If you have not the ability to work by yourself and search on the Web thé things that you dont understand, may be IT and especially Cybersecurity is not where you will find your safespace. At the contrary, you will have for the job to always search by yourself, and if you done your job properly, what will happend is something you dont know and for what there are no guidelines ou momy to watch you. You will be mostly by yourself all thé time, even when people are friendly.

I went to Cousera but, I couldn't find any contact number for support. I did go through the community as well wherein students were sharing information but in some cases where the needs were not getting addressed, it made me reluctant to join the course. I was hoping to get continuous support throughout the course. Can you please help me in this?

What kind of support you expect during all the course?
If you have not the ability to work by yourself and search on the Web thé things that you dont understand, may be IT and especially Cybersecurity is not where you will find your safespace.
At the contrary, you will have for the job to always search by yourself, and if you done your job properly, what will happend is something you dont know and for what there are no guidelines ou momy to watch you.
You will be mostly by yourself all thé time, even when people are friendly.
i want to ask google cybersecurity free or not ?
The course is $49 a month on Coursera, after a 7 day free trial period.
