    Excellent set! The Kesh and Morrisons are two of my favorites. I found this video searching for a good version of The Blarney Pilgrim to learn off of.

    Nice version and a great tone. Used to play this stuff 40 years ago - after a trip to Whitby Folk Festival this summer I'm inspired to try again :-)

      Funnily enough, I have just re-recorded this set of tunes because I enjoy playing them so much. Will just work out the exact notation to what I actually play and should have it on UA-cam later this week. Ready for St. Patrick's day

    I like it! But I usually play them in a different order. Kesh, Morrisons, Blarney. Major, minor back to major. The classic trilogy.

    the third one sounds very similar to Drowsy Maggie, but could be variations of each other or something.

    I can play the tunes as written, but how do I learn to play up to speed and with your inflections? I can't play along with you here.

      Hi Kathy, have you seen my two new series of instructional videos aimed at the beginner and intermediate player. I give lots of advice about ornaments and bowing exercises, which may be helpful. I made 14 videos so far, 7 in each series so maybe there might be something useful there.

    Is that a bazooki or mandolin in the background?

    • @peakfiddler
      @peakfiddler  4 роки тому +1

      It's a Fylde Mandola which I bought off ebay some years ago, I think it's one of his earlier ones. Plays well and since I have strung it with octave strings it sounds really well.
