The end with the thrown Tivo, the movie alluded to it throughout as Matthew's character was constantly playing those Wii games, preparing him for the ultimate toss at the end of the movie.

The good news is that we're back to laughing at all of the ridiculousness of this movie and recognizing it for the satire it is. I still remembering watching this opening day in the theatres. Everyone at the end laughed so hard when the credits said it was Tom Cruise. Even the beginning, there were no other movie previews and they went straight into the movie. So when we saw the Booty Sweat intro, everyone looked around like "wtf is this?!" Some families had kids in there haha.
I heard (cannot confirm) that the NAACP previewed this movie and was ok with the Robert Downy Jr. Character ... The idea is that is spóofs the many times white actors played ethnic rolls.
What makes this entire thing even more funny is that if you listen to the commentary track with all of the actors, RDJ stays in character throughout and only changes in the commentary in synch with his on-screen character. It's even more funny than just the movie.

The movie is going out of its way to ridicule these men. Stiller’s character is a mediocre action star who is trying to adopt a third-world ethnic kid because he thinks it’ll be a good career move. The actual black character explains the various ways how what RDJ’s character is doing is fucked up. It works because it’s satire. It’s not pushing buttons for the sake of it. It’s making fun of actors who have no self-awareness.

It works because it’s satire. It’s not pushing buttons for the sake of it. It’s making fun of actors who have no self-awareness.

Hands down one of my favorite's and underrated. I knew early on it was Tom b/c of the voice, but I gasped when it clicked I couldn't believe it my friends hadn't realized it and argued with me that it wasn't. And your reactions were gold!!
When I first saw it, I didn't realize it was Cruise till the credits, either.

One of the points with RDJ doing this character and going 100% in is that he's mocking method actors (especially with stuff like him refusing to drop the character when he knows that they aren't filming). Secondly he, and the movie as a whole, is mocking the whole unacceptable and reprehensible Hollywood practice of putting A-list actors in movie in black actor roles. I guess we could still be offended, but we can't be more offended than when the Wayons put on whiteface to do the 2004 "White Chicks" movie (which I don't think offended anyone - we get it, it's comedy and not meant to be offensive).
What A-List actors have played black roles???
