Ah, she was simply spectacular. She had immense power and grace and a stellar temperament as well. She is the ultimate Friesian mare. The world is sadder with her passing but her genes live one in her foals.
She is was the Queen .. regal even when young....
Uniek was not only beautiful and majestic no matter what she was doing, but she was the sweetest too. And I loved how funny she could be. It was so easy to love her.
Some of my favorite memories will always be those times when Uniek would stop what she was doing and turn her attention to something happening in the distance. Yvonne would ask her what she saw and then we could hear Yvonne laughing quietly once she found out.
I loved that too. And always wanting to turn around and go home during a walk... and scratching her leg on the stall door... and giving Yvonne such precious hugs ❤😭👑❤
It makes me tear up to see her in all her glorious beauty. Her soul and personality were so powerful and real, and I can't imagine what it's like for Yvonne that she has gone. I miss her and never even met her...

Very interesting to see Uniek at her inspection. I love the flowing movement of her mane as she elegantly trots. I remembered that Yvonne didn't own Uniek at that time. I'm so used to thinking of Uniek as Yvonne's horse - they always had such a good bond.
