Thank you. This has really helped me to understand this computer. Although it is still not that an intuitive a model, your video has made it simply to follow and program.
@olarezable Hi there, it doesn't actually turn off after a dive. When you come out of a dive it will return back to clock mode. Once in clock mode the power usage is very low and it won't really drain the battery. These computers have years of battery life in clock mode.
@bigrock123 The Zoop doesn't include the transfer cable, only the two flagship units (D9 & HelO2) have it in the box. The item you need is the Suunto Dive Manager, USB version. Make sure to choose the correct fitting for the Zoop/Vyper style unit. Thanks
@waternig1 Hi there, this computer is not air integrated and does not show remaining air pressure, if you want a dive computer that shows remaining air pressure please look at the Suunto Cobra, Cobra 3, Vyper Air, Vytec DS, D9 & HELO2.
The Zoop does not have a salt/fresh water setting, it is calibrated for salt water. If using it in fresh water please be aware that the actual depth is about 3% different than the displayed depth, although this does not matter for the computers decompression calculations as these are based on the measured pressure.
Michael Kinney, Glad we could help; it is much easier when you can see someone do work the computer in front of you compared to reading the manual. Safe Diving, Mark
Hi there, the Suunto zoop would require the USB Dive manager which you can purchase for £45.00. This comes with the cable and the software and allows you to download data to your PC. Kind Regards
Hi, If you purchased it from our store then it needs to be returned back to us, otherwise you will need to take it to a Suunto dealer for repair. It sounds like you have a problem with the depth sensor.
Hi really useful video. Please could you let me know if this automatically starts a timer for a safety stop? Also, does it have audible alarms for safety stop and ascending too quickly? Thanks.
Hi drucey99, Yes; the ZOOP will count down the minutes of a safety stop between 6m & 3m where it normally displays your NDL on the right. And yes it also has an audible ascent rate alarm and a scale on the far right of the screen so you can see how fast you are ascending. Safe Diving, Mark
Hi there, we can confirm the Zoop does show the no fly time after a dive. Yes indeed the Zoop does have a built in memory of about 50 diving hours. Kind Regards
Hello, I checked what i received with the product and found that it did not include the cable which connects the device to a computer. Does this product include the cable? And if not, what is the name of the cable which would connect the device to a computer. Thank You in advance
Hi +urgedmoon, one popular option is the bungee mount, a bit neater than the long rubber strap and it self-tightens when your suit compresses at depth www.simplyscuba.com/products/Suunto/SuuntoModuleComputerBungeeMount.aspx
Hi there, This was quite the helpful video, thanks a lot. One question though, on the Puck from Mares there's a select salt/fresh water mode. Does the Zoop detect this automatically or not at all? How does this affect my dive planning?
Hi Garreth Zarb, The ZOOP does not have a backlight, it has a phosphorescent screen that will glow after you shine a torch on it, similar to dials on a watch. Safe Diving, Mark.
Hey Riddhi Shah, the original ZOOP didn't have a backlight, the newer ZOOP Novo does, you can watch the video here: ua-cam.com/video/g_9x_b3F0XI/v-deo.html
Hi +Muhammad Alif, no the ZOOP doesn't have a freedive function. If you're looking for an affordable freedive computer take a look at the Mares Smart bit.ly/1jzUrqi Or the Scubapro Chromis bit.ly/1hd4DmN Or our most popular computer is the Suunto D4i Novo bit.ly/1j2i1Md Safe Diving, Mark
175 euros on the market not too bad considering how expensive some of these dive computers can be and how little waterproof watches manufacturers care about making model with built in depht meters hard to find on the market and maybe not as accurate as that type
Thanks +Eechu Wama, don't let names affect your decision, 'Zoop' is short for Zooplankton and it is the successor to the Gekko so it has a fine heritage. Safe Diving, Mark
Well this is a rather old video... why not check out a more up to date version: ua-cam.com/video/g_9x_b3F0XI/v-deo.html
holy, i saw this video 8 years ago.. now i have a 6 year old son and 2 year old daughter and we all still watch ur videos insane
Thanks for helping me relearn how to use my dive computer. Nice simple video
Much better than the printed instructions!!
@DOTR2010 - The stop ceiling depth is shown in the top right of the screen (if required) and remaining time just below.
Thank you. This has really helped me to understand this computer. Although it is still not that an intuitive a model, your video has made it simply to follow and program.

but how do you turn it off???!?
Perfect explanation to having to read the 70 plus page manual. Well done thumbs up from Sint Maarten

Enjoyed this video, thumbs up from us and cheers from sunny IGY Simpson Bay Marina, Sint Maarten in the Caribbean.
Thanks for the review. I am looking for a second hand dive comp.

@olarezable Hi there, temperature shouldn't make any difference, the battery should last 2-3 years depending on amount of dives.
@4lifediver Hi there, the Suunto Zoop doesn't have deepstops. The cheapest of the Suunto range to have deepstops is the Vyper Air.
@FkRsr Hi, The history will remain, the settings may go back to default though. Regards
Thanks so much. You helped me so much better than the printed instructions.

How do I reset the time/calendar?? They never gave me a manual with this computer and they just reinstalled a new battery.
You will need the Suunto Dive Manager-USB. Kind Regards
@saraatjeh Hi,
This should normally go into and idle state and just show the time.
regards

hi, can you use it as a watch ? does it have a stopwatch?
As an old school diver who learned in the 70s and 80s these computers look a bloody nightmare. How I wish for the simple tables of old.
“The future is now old man”
What an absolutely absurd thing to say
does it show your remaining air pressure

Does the Zoop detect this automatically or not at all?
How does this affect my dive planning?
Hi - if you run into deco where does it show you your stops or time to surface (assuming these are normal stops, not deepstops)?
How do I turn the dive computer off? Why ST i still continuing to increase when I am not using the watch?
Hi Martine, The ZOOP should turn itself off when left alone out of the water for about 30mins to save battery power.
Safe Diving
How do you switch on the backlight please?
Hi Garreth Zarb, The ZOOP does not have a backlight, it has a phosphorescent screen that will glow after you shine a torch on it, similar to dials on a watch. Safe Diving, Mark.
Thank you. I went to the dealer and he changed it for me and i get the suunto vyper. Thanks alot for your answer. Take care.
The Vyper is better in most aspects compared to the ZOOP and will serve you well, good choice. Safe Diving, Mark.
When changing the battery, does all history reset or is it still kept in archive ?
will the computer show a no fly time after dive? it does have a built in memory right?
when I want to plan my dive it displays the no deco limit but how do I set the plan to my actual dive?
Have these computer deepstops?
what is the maximum depth for this watch.??
300ft-400ft Max Depth

Mine turns off in due time. There is probably a setting I have never seen or heard about.

Haven't used it yet. Wish it were more intuitive. The PDF manual should shave been a DVD video. This video is decent.
I did 4 dives with the zoop the a wall Dive 90 feet every dive at 5O it goes to ER why
is that for freedive too?
Hi +Muhammad Alif, no the ZOOP doesn't have a freedive function.
If you're looking for an affordable freedive computer take a look at the

I have done some research into a free diving watch and the Suunto Zoop does have an apnea (free diving) function. Well, it is in the manual...
How can Fixe the Error Mode on it seem at 15 FEET STOP
you can use this computer for free diveing ?
I use it for snorkeling, mainly to keep track of the time!
@simplyscubadotcom thanx!
thanx 4 the fast answer!:)
but- the weather here is about 34 degree ! it will finish my battery, no?
175 euros on the market not too bad considering how expensive some of these dive computers can be and how little waterproof watches manufacturers care about making model with built in depht meters hard to find on the market and maybe not as accurate as that type
Guy has too rapid figure gestures and he flies through critical functions. Slow down, mate.
Can you wipe the history?
Subtitle Indonesia please 🙏
i don't know about you guys, but i'm leaning towards not putting my life in the hands of a computer named "Zoop"
Thanks +Eechu Wama, don't let names affect your decision, 'Zoop' is short for Zooplankton and it is the successor to the Gekko so it has a fine heritage.
