It seems that's way it works and all other cars ? My wife car definitely unlocks when the cars putting Park and for sure when car turns off 🤷🏼♂️ if u can help ty very much even if can't thx anyway 👍🏻
I need to replace all 4, the actual GM part is expensive, there are aftermarket parts that are affordable but I’ve read complaints about them, is there a reliable aftermarket brand that anyone used and was happy?

Make sure the rod grommets on the new latch are the same as the old latch. I had to pull it back out and reposition the inside door handle rod so I could install the rod pivot.
Question for you, I replaced the actuator as you did, but now when I lock the car with the remote control, the key entry to open the door from outside and the lock-unlock latch from inside freeze up and won’t do anything until I unlock the car with the remote, what I did wrong?
Your Car Guy DR well, i think I found the problem, the aftermarket actuators and I meant most of them if you pay attention the pin connectors only has 5 but the OM has 6 as the way it should I will replace it tomorrow, hopefully I’m right!!!

Hi Car Guy, I have an 07, and my issue is similar. the lock mechanism for the passenger door will unlock, but not lock.. now here's where the situation is different, the lock mechanism will lock when I press the window up button, and the window does not work at all. Any guess of what this issue may be? some odd wiring issue TIA
Great video. Any suggestions if the window will go down fine, goes back up slowly 1/3 of the way & stops? It then has to be pulled up by hand to close it all of the way. Thanks.

Michael Thompson if you are able to get in the car you could remove the seat then remove the door panel even though the door is closed. It isn’t easy but can be done. Then you could get to the lock mechanism to free it up.

maeaster1967 in this case 3 of the 4 were bad. It is a common issue on these vehicles. They might work the first time and then stop working. Replace all of the ones that don’t work.
Ok so my wife has the EXACT same vehicle shown here. Now her doors do this at random .. say it’s doing it RIGHT now and it will be normal operating tomorrow and for a month or two. But she says it’s just BOTH front doors at the same time. She says the back doors are fine. 🤷♂️🤦🏼♂️ BUT NOW I’ve gone outside to get in her car and NOW ITS ALL 4 DOORS !!! It was fine the past 2 months and it only did it for a few minutes at Texas Road house at that time. But how can it be ALL 4 DOORS when there is an actuator in EACH door FOR each individual lock. When her happens ALL locks struggle to open close. You can hear them but like not enough power. Note: at random while playing with the switches one or two doors unlock but the go out again. I’m confused what exactly to fix ... HELP !!!!
@@TheBiggerDavo looks like I have 4 manual locks as well from here on out! That job is too difficult for me and I would probably mess something up, and the mechanic wants 2.5 hours of labor per door...

Incase you press on the button to unlock does it loose power and the rear doors both dont open they try is it the same issue??

Check the door lock fuses. It could still need the locks replaced.

It needs the new lock actuators. This is a common issue.

TheESTUDIO98 check the rod routing going from the actuator to the handle. Make sure it isn’t binding.

Timboat67 it sounds like the wires have rubbed shorted to each other pull the panel off and inspect the wiring for rubbed spots.

Lynn Moore sounds like a bad window regulator. The cable is probably frayed and binding.

Lynn Moore usually all you need is the regulator. They aren’t expensive.

Michael Thompson that is much more frustrating. Try disconnecting the battery and manually unlocking the door.

How did you know it wasn't the wiring itself; a broken wire and was a faulty door lock actuator?
In this case it is the experience of knowing that the door lock actuators are a known issue.

Thomas Schuler this is actually a common issue on these vehicles. Replace all 4.
All 4 of mine went out as well just the same way as yours. Now I have manual locks! I will not fix all 4.
