- Used the 1404 Gaskets before but just came across Felpro MS94054 exh OEM replacement gaskets. Found them for a good price on Amazon and thought I'd share my find.

Felpro gaskets are awesome, so question. I'm not exactly sure what the point of the video is. The 1404 is multi layered and is made for use with headers, which are notorious for leaking as there is not a uniform, machined surface like an exhaust manifold; thus the necessity for some extra material to make up for tolerances. The 95054 is made for use with exhaust manifolds, which have a much more consistent, machined surface. So consistent in fact, that back in the day many MOPARs came out of the factory without exhaust manifold gaskets. Bottom line, if you're going to spring for those fancy headers, spring $10 extra for the proper gaskets to go with them.
Pay the money for good headers with thick flanges that are welded on the outside as well as inside vs welded on the face of the flange. Trouble is that means you are going to be paying 950-1800 for a quality header. But if you do they'll seal with high temp rtv and no gasket. Or use reflex aluminum gaskets that can be reused with thin flange budget headers.
@@b.c4066the felpro gaskets for my car are not multi layered steel. Should I go for a victor reinz multi layer steel or mahle/clevite brand they look the same and are both multi layer or would the felpro be just as good?

I’ve heard they’re awesome but for my car are not multi layered. And something tells me of the multi layered that was in there leaked, the felpro most definitely will. I’m going to sand the header surface down and can use a sealant if recommended. Have copper gasket sealant or rtv
I've always found gaskets are one of those places where I don't like to go cheap because leaks and such are just plain annoying. That said, Cometic C5415's for me, all day long.
On sale isn't really being cheap 😀
