A super sward of grass Graham 😍. If that doesn't make good silage you may throw your hat at it!! Be v interesting to see what difference the inoculant will make👌🇮🇪
Be interesting maybe I should be treating it all and keep a few aside to see difference but I’ve been stung with some products over the years being a bit too safe
Good video Graham, you got a great yield from the seven acres. Of course being a little late and no early grazing helps. Good luck with the hoof trimming.
Very interesting Graham. As you say , a tough year, not much dry silage so far.I have a lely tedder with the hook tines.Very good and you can drive fast but i think they all struggle in heavy wet crops.
Hi Graham, have a look at farmer Phil and new rake last Thursdays video, looks a great job ,remind of the lily throwing out in a big fan of grass , god be with the 35 and pz 275, take 2 years to make hay I. Wet time .I was on for a ,, ai course and didn't bother then would have been handy tool as well .
Few farmers in my area have few dufferent makes.from what i saw of there work the malone is best to prevent lumps even in heavy crops.anither contractor with a sip tedder tedded out a light crop for me and it lumped it all.
I use a Lely hay Tedder and it’s the same as that throws out lumps when heavy, my uncles uses a Mchale propel and is very good in heavy grass, quite expensive tho

Ah they will in heavy wet silage but I find the krone can give bad results in average crops sometimes

Ya it’s no harm to do these courses when you get the chance no load to carry
You mean tedder not rake

Have seen a malone working look a good job whatever their like in wet and heavy crops
I use a Lely hay Tedder and it’s the same as that throws out lumps when heavy, my uncles uses a Mchale propel and is very good in heavy grass, quite expensive tho
Haven’t seen a mchale working they are all expensive now
Great video is there a tedder made to spread damp silage as for the field a run of a grass harrow would do it good
Don’t think any make will work when wet. I think ground a bit to wet for grass harrow
I have krone tedder and find them great. Most of my stuff is heavy.
Have yours got the new curved tine I’m told those are better but ours isn’t great once it gets heavy
@Grahamkavanaghfarming normal tines and found it great. Have got a new 1 with the curved tines so il see how that 1 goes.
Even whether you follow the mower or go against direction of mower makes a big difference in some fields
First
Good man paddy
What are you having to pay for a roll of plastic Graham? 150NZD down here last season. Hopefully not more for the next. Always a good watch thanks. 👍
I was using the last few of last years pallet and I think it was €105 or €107 haven’t priced any this year but supposed to be gone down a bit in price
Wrap this year is €90 so has come back a fair bit
