Wendy Ann i think in the case of potty training it’s not a one size fits all. The book covers from little ones to older ones. I watch and love Emily! I also loved the book. Having a few plans in your mind to try is helpful, just incase plan A is a bust
My daughter just turned 2 a little over 2 weeks ago & she has begun to show a lot of signs of readiness. She told me last night she had to pee & was banging on the bathroom door. We didn’t make it in time but I let her sit on the potty, ask questions & learn the controls of the toilet. This video was so helpful! Thanks!
We recently potty trained our third and final baby too! Great advice as always! Introducing the potty early can be very helpful. After a friend told me about her toddler being terrified of the potty, I decided I would just put my baby on the potty before each bath. To my surprise, she (and my other babies) actually started peeing on the potty at about 4-5 months! We waited until they could tell us when they needed to go before really potty training, of course. 🙂

Laura June Baran my boy will also be 3 in october and i was also worried but he really surprised me and now he is fully potty trained in less than a week. He even wakes u p with a dry nappy and the first thing he does is to go wee wee! 👏🏼👏🏼😄😄 my point is dont worry just give it a try and if he is not ready yet, give him more time. I tried the first time just 2 months ago with my son and he just wasnt ready. As Emmily says dont push him/her if they arent ready!☺️ good luck 🍀👍🏼

Perfect timing and good advice! Weve been talking about starting Potty training for our 2 year old son but decided to wait, he’s not talking yet so it’s hard for him to communicate to us if he needs a wee. We have bought a potty that is constantly in the living room though and sometimes sit him on it just to get him used to it. We did manage to catch a morning wee one time and he was super happy. Gonna read some books and keep sitting on it when he feels like it for now and tackle the actual training later.
My daughter just turned 3 and we have finally rounded the corner on daytime potty training, and your video has excellent advise. Could you please make recommendations for nighttime training? I know from my first boy, potty training was more diffucult than giving birth to him. I delayed potty training for daughter till now, she is 3year 2 months, potty training day 1 today, 3 accidents 4 succesfull wee's so far. Very good hacks as always thanks 😊 xx

My son will be 2 years and 3 months on April 12th ! Since he turned 2 I have been paying attention to see if my son shows any signs of readiness. He is scared of the big potty so we have been staying away from that. But he would frequently tell me he needed to be changed. I would also see him run and hide to do his thing. He does not always wake up with a dry diaper. And he refuses to tell me when he has to go potty. So I called it quits since he just did not seem ready and I did not want to make it a horrible experience. (That was when he turned 2) now almost 3 months later I decided to give it a try and OMG he Pooped in the big Potty !! I am soo excited i have pulled out all his underwear back out and stickers and I am supper excited to start this journey :)!!! Thank you for your video it has given me more pointers !!

Thank you so much for this amazing video x my mum and a lot of female family members advised me to potty train my daughter in the warmer months and to let her not wear anything on her bottom half (I’m a single mum so it was only her and myself in the house) so that if she needed the potty she could make it. I always made a big deal of everything and put it on her rewards chart as well - my daughter is 8 now turning 9 in October so it feels like a lifetime ago 🥺 aww. Potty training is so daunting for us. Our daughter was 15 weeks premature, so she’s had a few delays in walking and speech, and I’m expecting delays with potty training. Going to try this advise. My first child trained herself. Huge blessing for a young first time mama. One night when her auntie was getting ready with friends for her high school prom my little insisted she get to go too. We told her she couldn’t go because only big girls get to go to dances. She correlated the “big girls” with our previous talks about using the little potty that had been purchased. It sat there for 6 months because she absolutely refused to even sit on it. Well, they left all excited and she marched right into the bathroom and used it before coming to get me and show me her potty success! After that we had no problems. She never liked being wet, already told me to change her when she’d pooped, so after that I think she was relieved to be dry all time too! And we had a little potty party with dance music! Fast forward 15 years- we’ve had the honor of adopting and fostering. I’m currently training my now teen first daughter to drive while also trying to potty train a 5 year old delayed foster son and a 2 year old adoptive daughter. Wow! Yep. I need all the advise I can get! No chance of getting a conversation about a prom dance to pop up again 😆 So thank you very much for all this advise! Maybe we’ll have a potty party after our first success. I’m think “wheels on the bus 🎶 “ and maybe “if you’re happy and you know it 🎶 “ 😄🙌 🎉
Oh! And I almost forgot- to reinforce with the first I used stickers. We used so many stickers that I had to turn the board over and start again on the back! Stickers for rewards are awesome! 🤩
Just did an entire week confined to my kitchen. My 2.5 year old boy fooled me he used the potty for number 1 on day 1 after his first accident on the floor he used the potty like a champ for #1 i was like wow he was ready. But 7 days later I think he fully gets #1 and 2 but wow knowbody really talks about how friggen hard it is and how stressful

Great video, again! My Little one was also almost 3 when we tried and it made all the difference. Open door policy is the same in our house. We loved our Paw Patrol sticker chart, it hung on the door knob of the bathroom and she loved it.
This is so strange that you’ve uploaded this video just now because I’ve just been out today and bought my 28 month old his first potty..then as soon as I asked him if he wanted to try it he went wee wee within the first 10 seconds!! And then after half an hour of getting on and off it and playing with the toilet roll to dab he then went for a number 2! Albeit a very small one but still!!! Hopefully this wasn’t a one time thing but even so these tips are totally going to help since I’ve been putting training off for a while now because I don’t know where to begin! Lovely video chick
Emily this is such great advice. I have a 2.5 year old who is 3 in January. I've been trying on and off to toliet train for a few months now. I think your totally right to wait until they are ready. My son finds it hard to communicate so hense as found it harder to potty train even though we have had lots of successes. 👍

Love the idea about the shoes! Some tips from friends: A friend of mine only potty trained her kids in the summer when they could run in the backyard with just an oversized shirt on. And another friend had one child who held it in forever, so she gave him as much juice as he wanted, sat him on the potty, and tickled him!

Despite pressure from others I've waited to potty train and I believe my child is finally ready. She even tries to potty train me now lol (If I say I'm need to go potty, she will walk me to the bathroom and tell me to sit on the potty lol) I just want to make sure that it isn't stressful, for her or for me.

My daughter did wees on the potty no problems but was really nervous about doing no. 2 on the potty so we got her a Teddy specially to help her. She held the Teddy every time she needed a no. 2 on the potty and it stopped the nerves and she did a no. 2 on the potty, success!!

(That was when he turned 2) now almost 3 months later I decided to give it a try and OMG he Pooped in the big Potty !! I am soo excited i have pulled out all his underwear back out and stickers and I am supper excited to start this journey :)!!! Thank you for your video it has given me more pointers !!

Thank you so much for this amazing video x my mum and a lot of female family members advised me to potty train my daughter in the warmer months and to let her not wear anything on her bottom half (I’m a single mum so it was only her and myself in the house) so that if she needed the potty she could make it. I always made a big deal of everything and put it on her rewards chart as well - my daughter is 8 now turning 9 in October so it feels like a lifetime ago 🥺 aww. This was such a lovely video 💋 tysm gorgeous and wish you all the best 😘

Potty training is so daunting for us. Our daughter was 15 weeks premature, so she’s had a few delays in walking and speech, and I’m expecting delays with potty training. She’s 3 next month and we want to start teaching her so that she will be ready for school in September. Thank you for so many helpful tips, fingers crossed! xXx

My daughter is nearly 2 and she's sooo interested in the potty, telling us her nappy needs changing.. We feel like we should get started but have no idea how to go about it... Going to try this advise. My first child trained herself. Huge blessing for a young first time mama. One night when her auntie was getting ready with friends for her high school prom my little insisted she get to go too. We told her she couldn’t go because only big girls get to go to dances. She correlated the “big girls” with our previous talks about using the little potty that had been purchased. It sat there for 6 months because she absolutely refused to even sit on it. Well, they left all excited and she marched right into the bathroom and used it before coming to get me and show me her potty success! After that we had no problems. She never liked being wet, already told me to change her when she’d pooped, so after that I think she was relieved to be dry all time too! And we had a little potty party with dance music!
Fast forward 15 years- we’ve had the honor of adopting and fostering. I’m currently training my now teen first daughter to drive while also trying to potty train a 5 year old delayed foster son and a 2 year old adoptive daughter. Wow! Yep. I need all the advise I can get! No chance of getting a conversation about a prom dance to pop up again 😆 So thank you very much for all this advise! Maybe we’ll have a potty party after our first success. I’m think “wheels on the bus 🎶 “ and maybe “if you’re happy and you know it 🎶 “ 😄🙌 🎉
Oh! And I almost forgot- to reinforce with the first I used stickers. We used so many stickers that I had to turn the board over and start again on the back! Stickers for rewards are awesome! 🤩
When your child’s ready they’ll do it. Potty training is the most stressful thing I’ve ever done with my kids. Don’t push it, it’ll happen

Just did an entire week confined to my kitchen. My 2.5 year old boy fooled me he used the potty for number 1 on day 1 after his first accident on the floor he used the potty like a champ for #1 i was like wow he was ready. But 7 days later I think he fully gets #1 and 2 but wow knowbody really talks about how friggen hard it is and how stressful
Glo Lopez that is completely not normal ! Take your child to a dr immediately as it’s likely they have emotional and learning delays. I cannot believe you’ve thought it’s normal for an almost 4 year old to not be talking

I was hoping you'd do this vid before my toddler was potty trained, but it's still very helpful! I actually went the other way arround, I started with number 2 training when he was 18 months because I knew his "schedule"

My Little one was also almost 3 when we tried and it made all the difference. Open door policy is the same in our house. We loved our Paw Patrol sticker chart, it hung on the door knob of the bathroom and she loved it.

This is so strange that you’ve uploaded this video just now because I’ve just been out today and bought my 28 month old his first potty..then as soon as I asked him if he wanted to try it he went wee wee within the first 10 seconds!! And then after half an hour of getting on and off it and playing with the toilet roll to dab he then went for a number 2! Albeit a very small one but still!!! Hopefully this wasn’t a one time thing but even so these tips are totally going to help since I’ve been putting training off for a while now because I don’t know where to begin! Lovely video chick

Emily this is such great advice. I have a 2.5 year old who is 3 in January. I've been trying on and off to toliet train for a few months now. I think your totally right to wait until they are ready. My son finds it hard to communicate so hense as found it harder to potty train even though we have had lots of successes. 👍

Love the idea about the shoes! Some tips from friends: A friend of mine only potty trained her kids in the summer when they could run in the backyard with just an oversized shirt on. And another friend had one child who held it in forever, so she gave him as much juice as he wanted, sat him on the potty, and tickled him!

Despite pressure from others I've waited to potty train and I believe my child is finally ready. She even tries to potty train me now lol (If I say I'm need to go potty, she will walk me to the bathroom and tell me to sit on the potty lol)

My daughter did wees on the potty no problems but was really nervous about doing no. 2 on the potty so we got her a Teddy specially to help her. She held the Teddy every time she needed a no. 2 on the potty and it stopped the nerves and she did a no. 2 on the potty, success!!

When I could get my pants off, up through the last day of nine-years-old, I struggled to get off my underwear! Though, I always get on my underwear, all because I really loved my underwear! While I tried to open my underwear when peeing which I try to get my pee out of my underwear!
