So crazy how you post certain videos right when I need them! You helped me SO much and I sleep trained right after you, now we are ready to potty train! Just got all the items yesterday! Thank you Kayla!!!
Well… no words enough to say thank you!. It has been a little bit crazy trying to help our little princess in this transition.., but you made my day.. really!. And yep, I do have one of that kind of books…, but honestly.. it didn’t help as we needed it.. Thank you again, and God bless you more. 🙏😘
Thank you. I watched this before, read the book, have a plan.... And I feel like I'm failing today. Just hearing your success gives me the confidence to keep going with this.
"Are you excited?" "Yes" "you're a freaking liar" This is my favorite potty training video. My kid is 3 and I have been so worried that because he's older it's going to totally suck. We're on day 2 and it's going amazing. Thank you for being so honest and real. This is what I needed.
Well done Riley!! And to the parents who worked so hard! My daughter cried her eyes out the first time we tried as well so we postponed it for about 6 month too. Tried it again and for sure she was ready then because it went a lot smoother and no tears.
@@KaylaBuell Thank you for this video 😭. Just came in time for me. I tried potty training my daughter @18 months because she showed some signs she was ready...and other family members kept telling me how their kids started 12-18 months... anyway she ended up being scared to sit on potty and started to hold and being constipated so my husband and I decided to postpone. My daughter will be turning 2 next month and I want to try again and it’s making me feel anxious again.
Great video, my mom taught me how to potty train my kids and used a lot of the same advice, so in return I’m teaching my daughter with her first child and she’s 20 months now and we are continuing the same traditions lol
Thank you for this video!!! So helpful! My son is 18 months and has been telling us when he is about to go so I thought he was ready but he does not like sitting on his potty at all!! We put it away and I'm doing some more research before we try again lol. Looks like many kids take a couple rounds of potty training before it sticks. Glad to know I'm not alone.
Potty training almost killed me but we did it! We also used the "Oh Crap" method and it was fantastic! My little one was 21 months and it was THE BEST decision! She pees and poops in the toilet and diaper free life is a bliss! Good job mama! Great way to share the information!
You’re such a great Mother! I have a little 4 month old and I’ve been sleep training her this week and it’s completely life changing! Thank you so much for your Ferber Method videos! I’m now excited to potty train and will be coming back to this video in a couple of years😆
"Make sure you know you still have to clean them, even when they can poop in the potty" I was babysitting my youngest nephew when he yelled for the whole neighborhood to hear "SOMEBODY WIPE MY BUTT!!!!" and I am prepared now for my own lol
Thank you so much for this video! It was very helpful! My child is about to be 3 and this is a new life for me since I did not have any siblings. Everybody pray for me!
I’ve been watching your channel for some time and I just wanted to say thanks! I’m not a mom yet but I hope whenever I have kids I can be a mom like you
Ok so I’ve been getting really frustrated because my daughter is 3, but literally wants nothing to do with the potty she throws tantrums or will hold her pee and poop in and it’s so frustrating bc I live with my husbands family and they are always on my back making me feel like I’m a bad mother bc she’s not potty trained yet but idk what to do it can just be so frustrating 😣😣 help me
Don't worry about what your family thinks. I know it's easier said the done. My family is on me about my 3 yr old not being trained overnight. And she's just not ready....I tried...it failed, and we'll try again in a couple months. Every child is different. You know what's best for you and your child. Stick to your gut. ❤️
Such good tips mama!! I totally agree how the parents' mindset is so important to make it a positive experience! also, love the Minnie toilet. my toddler loves Minnie too! I just uploaded my video of tips for potty training too! Love how each mama has different things to help because each kid is different!
There is a brand called Peejamas (I DMed you their Instagram page). It’s just a normal pajamas but it’s absorbing enough just in case if your baby has an accident at night. Maybe you’d like to check them out
We're right in the midst of this.. we also tried about 6 months ago at the 2yr mark and it was a no go... waited and did this commando technique and its going well!! Little guy has only 1-2 accidents in chones :)
@@KaylaBuell yep my daughter been potty trained like 3 months now I did pull ups at night for 3 weeks now I don’t need too she wear under wear at night so I’m so happy 😀
Happy for both you n Riley! I have a small doubt.. you said you made her carry the used bowl to flush down the big toilet.. is that what’s usually done? I used to empty it myself when I trained my kid. Does it help in any way?
This book looks awesome I read the excerpt. I got a potty excitedly for my 15 month old lol, we hate diapers and already he does his poops (in the diaper) in the bathroom, it's crazy, I'm hoping he will be ready early 🤞
I know this video is older, hopefully you see it! But just wondering how your son did with the potty in the room? I have a 2.5 year old daughter and 16month old son. We’ve brought the potty out and he thinks it’s a toy lol do you have any tips for that? I want my daughter to have access to it but they play in the same area obviously
Haha I love you , your so real and just like us not like the other you tubers who try to sugar coat their lives ! By the way Jackson and my daughter have the exact same birthday ❤️❤️
Can't wait for Jackson's video, I have this theory that girls are easier to potty train than boys and considering I'm a boy mom, not looking forward to this 🙈
I've heard that too. A lot of people have told me that girls are easier to potty train. I'm a girl mom so I have no idea what it's like to potty train a boy 😂
I always heard that too! I will say, it is very much a child to child situation. My son (he is now 4) had turned 2 end of September, potty trained on his own pretty much mid November and hasn't needed a pull up since that following January. So he wasn't even 2.5 and didn't even need a pull up at night. It was amazing! So my experience, my boy was a breeze! Now I have a girl and totally dont know what to expect 😏
Glad to see the travel potty. I don’t like public restrooms so the thought of my child using a public toilet grosses me out. I know I’ll eventually have to get over it but appreciate seeing an alternative option.
My grandson was 31/2 and he has lived with his since he was born and he went to spend the night with his moms sister and her little ones and she told him that he was a big boy and she wasnt gonna change no diapers and he needed to use the potty and low and behold he did!!! Not one accident even over night!!!!! When he got back home i told him that the diaper fairy had came and took all the diapers and we disnt have anymore and that he had to go potty on the big potty and he did and he is now 4 and has only had 1 accident since. We are so proud of him. I hope this helps someone else train their 3 yr old boy
When it comes to potty training Jackson in the future are you going to use the same potty training method? And when will you move Riley to a big kid bed?
Why can’t they have regular underwear on at the stage when they are wearing pants and when is it time to put them in the undies? Thank you for sharing! It was very helpful 💕
A lot of times toddlers (in the beginning) will pee/poop in their underwear because it feels “secure” like a diaper. If you wait til they’re more regularly using the potty, they are a lot less likely to have that kind of regression when you introduce underwear :)
That.is around the sake age i.potty trained my daughter she also started.using a little potty and also had it nearby i.never forced her to go I only told her where it was going to be she picked up very quickly she was potty trained by the week now she uses the adapter to the regular toilet and she has mastered it now just started at night as well she has only had 1 minor accident at night in 2 weeks but she's doing great
Im not sure about the whole training concept. My daughter is 9 now and she was out of diapers at age 3 and it came by itself without having to train her or anything. What's the rush anyways? At some point it comes naturally and they won't even have accidents.
Concern for environment can be a reason for rush. And by your logic of no accidents, you should not let your child feed herself till 3, so they don't spill food around while eating. Children make mistakes and learn from them. Same with toilet learning. 1-2 years is the best time for potty training. After 2 they start resisting the potty because, to them the diaper has become the norm.
@@sarahmustakim3471 Of course children learn from accidents! I just found that by putting no pressure on my 3 year old she did better and was WAY more successful with learning how to go then "training"her. There is no need to rush things. Rushing only creates fear in children to have to do something they might not be mentally ready for. I'm more for a gentle approach. I know from my parents we lived the first year in a RV (they loved to travel). Potty training wasn't an issue. I was in nature the whole time and learned to go outside. Eventually we moved to a house and I learned to go inside. Also a completely healthy adult here.🙋♀️
I have a one year old & I want to start potty training but I feel like she's too little or won't understand the concept! I do have the Minnie potty as well she loves pressing the button 😂love the tips & your potty training journey 💕
My daughter is two and a half. We've been trying to party train for like 2 weeks now. She was doing good at first, but now she has no interest in it, and she tells me she don't like it. So I think I'm just going to hold off. till she is 3
My 2.5 year old has the issue where she loves to sit on the potty but after 10 seconds of nothing she says she’s all done. I keep telling her she needs to squeeze the peewee out but she doesn’t seem to get it yet. I’m just happy she like going on the potty
Great job Riley! Just a suggestion to ease your anxiety on your first couple outings. You could always put rubber pants on over her underwear in case she does have an accident so everything doesn't get soaked. They're like little rubber underwear, you would just put them over her regular undies.
Something i forgot to say was before that time when my grandson was about 3 we had tried and tried to get him to go potty he would refuse over and over and over so we finally gave up. He might of if my other daughter had taken him to spend the night..he might hqve been potty trained sooner but he would not do it for his mom, Nana.or Papa Lol I guess he just wasnt ready. Lol
