    This is 1968 and metal years before metal. The Beatles, always ahead of their time. This what makes them the greatest ever, they were always three steps ahead of everyone else. All other artists were always trying to play catch up which never happened. Beatles = Greatest Band Ever and it's not even close.

    That look on your face was just priceless! Paul McCartney is just full of surprises. He can sing the sweetest, silkiest love songs and then turn around and do this!! An early Beatles example of this is “Long Tall Sally”. Paul can belt em out when he wants to. In reference to this song, he was once quoted saying “I just like noise!” That sums it up. The idea for this came from a British amusement park ride. 😊

    This was like punk (at it's most sophisticated) 20 years before punk. That's how innovative these guys were.

      Agreed. I know this song is viewed as early metal and that's partly true, but I also get a punk vibe. It has a sort of primitive uncouth energy which I associate with punk, even if technically it may be closer to metal. Regardless, it's not only one of my favourite Beatles songs, its one of my all time favourite songs of any act.

      the earliest punk music was being made some years before this, bands like The Sonics or the MC5
      were playing as energetic as this, or even more, since 1965 and 1966... you need to get your facts straight before talking

      @@JulioLeonFandinho Thank you, I had never heard of either band, but I did look them up, and saw that they are given credit for influencing punk. To be fair to the Beatles, they were heard by a wider audience.

      Less than 10 years, not 20. Punk began in the 1970’s.

    Apart from the fact, that the Beatles produced music in maybe 20 genres, sometimes in an innovative and always very convincing way, one must not forget, that they originally played a hard and maybe even punky rock'n'roll in front of a sometimes infrequently nasty audience in Liverpool and Hamburg, before they made their global breakthrough. They had been producing exciting rock tracks before 1968, but "Helter skelter" and "Revolution" are probably their most enduring loudspeaker killers.

      Very true about those songs but it's interesting that a lot of people don't react to the Beatles song birthday. That's quite a rocker as well that just didn't stick. Still a great song though.

      @@daletwin1 I love “Birthday” myself. Didn’t know that it was underrated.

    Enny, when it comes to music The Beatles could do anything!! They were so advanced it is staggering to consider in its entirety! You have a long way yet to go with your journey! For something completely different I encourage you to try "Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite"!! Keep up the great work on your channel!!

    That was Ringo yelling out "I've got blisters on my fingers!" And he did! A lot of drumming that day for Ringo. For another kinda heavy song do "Oh! Darling" off the Abbey Road album. Another cool Abbey Road song you would like Enny is the first song on the album "Come Together" and is consider by some as a Beatles rap song. And for another really fun song off the White Album try "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da". I'm sure you'll like these and I didn't see them on your video page. ✌️😎

    The surprise is that it doesn’t exactly have a definitive end. Back in the day the radio stations wouldn’t play it to the very end because there was too much empty space.

    the first ever heavy metal song

      @SRG1966 2 роки тому

      Nope, not the first metal song. Nine months earlier, Blue Cheer's cover of "Summertime Blues" beat them to it. And earlier tracks by the Kinks can be considered early metal as well. But it's a great, iconic track.

      Led Zeppelin 1 came out in January, 1969. The White Album came out November, 1968. Not a tough one after all, is it??

    The Who claimed they were the loudest band in Britain - this was the Beatles response ;)
