Never got the sensor to work for Pedal assist on my P Line Brompton but the throttle works really well on its own. I get well over 20 miles with a good amount of throttle use with the Max battery. I believe Swytch batteries are one of the best designs out there. It should become an industry standard in my opinion.
This is great. I was thinking about getting a used Brompton and adding this to it. I already have an ebike but with, I know I'll be able to bring this on the NYC subway system with ease
It's a good kit. I fitted one before Christmas; though i use a larger after market battery stashed in my front bag. Make sure you check it's set for the US limit of 20mph rather than the UK limit of 15; a setting from the hand controller menu.
@@BromptonFamilyTime I've checked my settings and top speed is accessed from menu item 2 ( as numbered from the bottom) and value 2 (again numbered from the bottom) maximum speed. In England that is set as value 1 by default. Do make sure your power setting (menu item 3 from the bottom) is as high as it can get (mine will only set to value 4 not 5; perhaps a limit for my geography).
Thanks for the tip. We are trying to figure out the settings now and see how the battery life is since we plan on using it for longer rides. I think making it go 20mph will drain the battery much faster. We will continue testing it.
If you think your wait was long. I ordered one before the pandemic. Almost 2 years later it showed up. I seriously forgot about it. Easy to install. Input it on my 24in folding bike. My son loves it Mine base the older heavier battery. As bike kits go it isn’t that heavy. That one would be better The throttle makes me lazy. I use it to get around the neighborhood
@@BromptonFamilyTime I Live in Munich but work 25 km South of Munich. I use the brompton to commute every day with the train. I got the Swytch kit for 3 reasons : steep Slope, fast 8 minutes 2x journey before and after the 11 minute train commute and if needs be I can do the 25 km commute without the train ….very good where there is a train strike. Having Said that i only take 2 batteries with me to work. I can charge them with the fast charger in 90 minutes. Love it. Once my chain failed and I managed to go Home with the e kit on. Clever and practical.
I had an ARCC kit fitted to Brompton C6 ( it’s only available in the UK) it gave 178% assistance. Front wheel drive scrubs a bit at times and is a little underpowered compared to other ebikes I have owned. You will really enjoy but may need a second battery in due course.
i recently upgrade to Swytch with the Max battery....i got a very VERY big chainring - 75T which help me going to slight hills here in Florida....the power level is set to P2 and works like a charm....didn't want to pedal going uphill coz i know i'll break my chain....made it 27miles round trip with some battery life to spare....i was so happy
@@BromptonFamilyTime it seems i could go farther but the trick is my Swytch revs around 9-13mph when i need a push....but my speed goes over that most of the time...i know its a pedal assist but not sure if i'm getting juice out of the battery when i'm going 17-20mph
Hi BFT ご家族さま!Wannabe Brompton owner, and came upon your channel and useful videos. Love them all! 本当に勉強になります。 Still thinking of what line to get, and with what gears. New P-line 12-gear, or C-line 6-gear + Swytch? BTW, what Brompton model with how many gears is the Hot Pink one you've installed the Swytch kit onto? VERY curious, as this could be my (near-)future commuting/hobby bicycle setup (sans the throttle). 大変楽しみにしてま〜す!引き続き、Brompton系ビデオのアップ、よろしくお願いします。
The T Line is the best one to get if you can afford it. Depending on where you plan on riding, it will determine what gear or electric kit that will be useful. I would recommend you try them out at a Brompton dealer.
Watch out e-bikes are addictive! I bought one for my wife and I’ve probably put more miles on than she has at this point! We went with a mid drive motor and no throttle instead of a hub motor because it feels a lot more natural, like riding a regular bike - but with POWER!😂
I agree I have a mid drive pedal assist bike. I love going farther and faster and still pedaling and changing gears. I also have a swytch kit on my folding bike and that one has a throttle. On sadly when I see a hill I just push the throttle. But it is fun.
I pre-ordered a Swytch kit for my Brompton last year and after months of waiting they sent me a 26" wheel mixed with Brompton parts, unusable for anyone... Pretty wild lol
@@BromptonFamilyTime I was too frustrated by then and just asked for a refund. At this point I've decided to just keep my Brompton as-is w/dynamo lights and get a CYC Photon kit for my gravel bike. If I hadn't already paid for the Brompton dynamo, I might have stuck through the Swytch process.
Does an additional Display extension cable require to connect to Bro Block? Also, will we still have enough room to install OEM Brompton Cateye 500LM Front Light with this Bro Block setup? Thanks.
I have a disc brake on my 20 inch bike. So I need to take out the disc and put it onto the Swytch rim rite? Is there any special adapter required to fix it on? Also, how much did you pay for the whole thing?
I believe Swytch designs the wheel to be compatible with disc brakes. I would ask them just in case since it may depend on the wheel size. I paid about $750.
BROMPTON ELECTRIC. "THE WORLDS MOST UNRELIABLE BIKE?”.. Both of my Electric Brompton"s continuously keep braking down. The poor quality bearings & electronics keep failing. Brompton knows about this. But just keeps replacing them with same the parts. Buy yourself several Chines copies for the same price. Or better still a Honda CBR 125cc motorcycle for the same price. Feel less disappointed & save yourself a fortune.
Aww the dog wants to "help." The switch is a nice addition to your Brompton stable. Enjoy.

I was thinking about setting it up that way. The pedal sensor makes it feel less like a bike. Shoko likes it so far.
I was surprised to see you buying a Swytch kit. I would have passed out if you would have fitted it to your T-Line.😂👍
I don't think it's compatible with the T Line.
She is going to love the E-assist!

I tried to change it when I first got it but it is still maxing out at 15MPH. I'll try again. Thanks.
@@BromptonFamilyTime I'll get the manual out and have a check; still runs out of speed at about 18mph (err, not that I'd know being in England)

I have This kit with 3 batteries to extend the range. Love it. David
Wow 3 batteries! You must do a lot of long rides.

The ARCC kit looks excellent. I like that design with the battery.
Good luck!

I love camping too. I just finished building my gear for the summer. Hopefully I will be able to get out more this year.
I've got the gen 2 still going strong after 4 year's 👍 probably still the lightest ebike on the market. You want on the front block.

Price? Swytch doesn't want to show that on their website.
It varies depending on how long you're willing to wait for delivery.
It was around $750 total.
I bought one for my daily commute. Not everything arrived and still waiting 1 year later. Customer service very poor. ☹
A brompton kit? I got mine in a few months. What country are you in?
