in Lost Omens 12 - Travel Guide, there is a statement regarding a conflict over the span of "three days, and ended in six deaths, two marriages, and at least one blood feud", due to half the population inexplicably being convinced that leap years happen every 4 years instead of 8. it also names the leap day "Fey Day".
Just wanted to say, thank you so much for this channel! You’ve really helped my grasp PF lore! I’m going to host my own homebrew game in PF2E and these videos are so damn useful! I may be adjusting some aspects to the babayaga lore though, not a huge fan of Rasputin 😂😂
I have, at least once, dropped the actual real-life band Visigoth into Golarion for a one night show that rocked Varisia like never before. I'll do it again.
This is so cool. And I love all the story hooks this could provide along with a unique evil vs evil story that one has to choose the lesser evil to work with. Also I find it funny self reliant Baba Yaga is a witch when the witches are you get power from a patron and certain actions call them directly Love the serious and always excited for what comes next
My current Pathfinder 2e campaign is actually about the PCs helping Queen Anastasia negotiate peace with a (homebrew) new Linnorm King from the region of Hagsreach. Interestingly, an evil giant has been attempting to derail the peace talks...
Baba Yaga is my favourite NPC I like her because you don't know if she will help you or not in my upcoming Kingmaker 2e campaign my winter witch is the great grandson of Baba Yaga he got sick and tried of the constant backstabbing and cruelty of the winter witches to the common folk so he is looking to start a new life and build something that is better than his homeland
As an FYI, Kostchtchie will be getting dropped from Pathfinder in the Remaster. This is due to him being too strongly connected with OGL content, and was revealed by Luiz Loza in a thread talking about Godsrain.
Yeah, I thought that might happen, but it wasn't fully confirmed (that I could find) as I was writing/recording this script. I'm not sure if it will meaningfully change the existing canon or if they'll just remove him from material going forward.
The Czech Legion wasn't confused. Their path back to Europe was blocked by enemy forces. They had no choice but to flee East. Making them sound like hapless buffoons diminishes their courage, the adversities they faced and their actual history.
Leap years on Golarion are every 8 years, sometimes called Fateless Day
You're right! My bad. I have no idea why they would make that one minor change.

I'm glad these videos have been helpful. If I'm facilitating more enjoyment at the table for my viewers, then I've accomplished my goal.
THE SWORD MENTIONED? Absolutely excellent. That kind of heavy metal is exactly the vibe I like in my Pathfinder games.

Excellent choice of band to drop in! Would love to see them live someday!

Baba Yaga really does provide some of the best story hooks in the setting.

Nice. Solid idea for a campaign. I would love to explore the politics in that region at my table someday.

Love that. Great character motivation.
Keep the hits rolling Phillip! Your channel is a fantastic repository of knowledge!
Thanks!
i was grinning like a maniac thru the whole section on the reign of winter plot. thanks for bringing this hilarious pathfinder lore to my attention
It's one of my favorite AP plots, just for its pure goofiness.
Ah 1e Mythic... I miss it dearly. It was so busted

Another great one
Thanks very much. I really enjoyed writing this script.
Ah, sweet grandma. So kind and terrifying!
12:20 Dr Yaga
so we can play an isekai with pjs ffrom Earth??
You certainly can. Bonus points if you play him like Kazuma from Konosuba. Assuming your table-mates are on board, of course.
Hopefully we get Old Mage Jatembe as a Pathfinder Person.
I'm hoping for next year, around when I cover the Magaambya and Strength of Thousands.
We'll see how my schedule shakes out.

I'll admit I mis-remembered this story as I was writing this script. My bad.
I wish reign of winter wasn't as cringe as it is
Interesting. I didn't find it particularly cringe while reading it for this video. If you don't mind my asking, what about it bothers you?
