If you like the shoes, buy the shoes and wear the shoes. They will look like you if you like them. I think you go wrong when you pigeon hole yourself into only wearing this or that. If you love it, wear it and enjoy it :-)
Yeh I agree with this most the time, but I also really value the opinions of those I trust around me to stop me making any spontaneous decisions that I'll later regret. Sometimes I love something so much I don't care what people think! Mix of both x

I liked those shoes, they'd look great with narrower, shorter trousers. If you stopped worrying about other people's opinions and just focused on what you like and trusted your own choices more you'd probably struggle less with fashion. Those shoes looked great on. Other people's opinions are just that, opinions. Your opinion is just as valid. They would have looked looked with that pyjama feather outfit as well.

I love Mary Janes, for me the key was to buy ones with a higher heel, since it was a block heel they are very comfortable. Also patent seems to look more intentional somehow. But they are definitely not for everyone!! Enjoyed your vlog x

Thank you for sharing a bit of the beautiful festive streets in London. I was there at the end of 2019 before the pandemic, and had the best time just walking around and exploring. I also remember how chilly it was, and seeing you all bundled up on that grey day was so nostalgic for me. Love it!!!
I have a similar issue with shoes, I feel like back in the skinny jeans days, they went with everything and ankle boots were an easy go to. Now with all the wide legs and baggier styles anything other than trainers looks weird.

Why the hate for the shoes? I love them. Very handy for smarter events (weddings etc) where trainers wont do, and you dont want to wear heels

Hey Lily 🤗 you will find the right shoe eventually but don’t overthink it if you can. I think a nice ballet style would suit you, maybe one with a little bit of sparkle or embellishment to dress it up a bit but if you want a heel then something like what you picked up is absolutely fine. I love the boots you showed, shame they didn’t have your size. 🩷 xxx

with the shoes, it might feel 'not you' because you go for a casual soft style (cotton, denim, oversized), and the sudden addition of something like leather heels or a patent hard shoe is too jarring?
if so, try pairing the shoe with a same vibe accessory - black leather shoes + black leather bag, silver shoe detail with silver jewellrey, smokey eye, a black blazer etc - basically adding something sleek or sharp to match the shoes' vibe if that makes sense.
