Dark, suspicious, conservative… this is what is left of the Vaulters’ identity. The only survivors of Auriga’s tragic fate, asleep for centuries, see that their rebirth draws near. Yet a question remains: will Zolya, First of the Bloodline, be able to lead them in this new era?

They've gone from fighting vampiric robo-Knights and a plague of all-consuming insects to fighting vampiric religious zealots and a plague of all-consuming cyborg bugs. Not much of an improvement on their previous situation.

Not to mention spooky space-wraiths that just wants everyone to get along - The fact that there's a broken lord hero in ES2 so one of them most have been brought along as well into space, etc. etc.

To have the ship's power restored and its FTL drive restored at just this moment, seems like it could be nothing short of a miracle.
It's such a compelling tale.

What I don't get is why didn't the Vaulters and other Factions put aside their differences and GTFO of the planet?
Why didn't the Vaulters bring some of the other factions with them?

can you add minor events or missions to the game? i dont tell you to copy but if you can,plz sit down and try out Stellaris.nothing wrong learning about the others.they event let their players base develop their own in-game events

if by space vikings you would call femanazis then yeah.. I loled at their heroes cultural enrichment skills.
Dima S doubt that vaulters are feminazis, they're bunch of half viking scientist that take women as leaders because for them it works much better that way (their race's ass are notoriously saved by female heroes, so for them its an obvious choice).
Also, outside of leadership, their males have alot of rights and have alot of flexibility and freedom on their career and life choice. They also valued as advisors in many aspect of society. Doesn't sound so feminazis for me.
The Vaulters are too fucking smart to be Vikings, they strive for scientific supremacy, not the statistic of plundering the most planets in the galaxy.

OMG OMG. Lemme get this straight. Are these the VAULTERS that escaped AURIGA from Endless Legend??? It has to be right? The Auriga we find in-game is an ice planet. Connecting the games together and expanding the lore is thumbs up imo.
You got to play vaulters in Endless Space (1), with the disharmony DLC too. So you've not made the biggest discovery.
This is well established since ES 1....
They bring sisters of mercy with them too.

Besides the Sisters of Battle (Let's be honest) i'm really interested to see if they'll expand on the state of the current dead(?) Auriga and the other factions from it. Like if there's a relation between the Vodyani and the Broken Lords at all.
I don't normally comment, but, You can really feel the sadness in the ai's voice when he says he cant save his people
Fun fact, the ring around the Vaulter ship is a Torus Warp Ring/Drive (AKA, "Alcubierre drive").
Considering the theories around such rings, it'd explain why Vaulter ships are actually able to warp around their empire much more quickly than other empires' ships. The problem is, it's also theorized that you'd need at least two rings to keep the ship intact during a jump *and* the force created by both rings could destroy a planet if the ship were to decelerate while facing a planet (no idea how much space is actually needed to decelerate without destroying something somewhere).
As no planet (or anything else) is destroyed upon a Vaulters' ship arrival, one can guess that the deceleration issue was figured out. But there's also the issue how much energy is actually required to meet such speeds through space.
You guys have some of the best backstory intro prologue cinematics. Please never stop.

Topher_69 Eze The voice actor did a great job of mixing his mechanical nature with what comes across as a powerful, deep sorrow. When the power came back on, I'm sure he was doing whatever is his version of crying.

This is still one of my favourite game trailers/prologues of all time.
Have built and waiting to use a D&D character based on OpBot on this short.
Also in a campaign I ran I had a whole race of people inspired by the vaulters.
Such a compelling cinematic, I keep coming back to it.

definitely when it comes to actual downloadable CONTENT, Paradox.
I am of the opinion that both suck at making 4X as the games of both publishers have *huge* flaws.
Still, few can get close to Amplitude in injecting art into their games. Names like Banner Saga, Hellbalde, Homeworld, and Trine come to mind.
I like Stellaris' mix and match and variety of factions.

Wish they would do this with some of the other factions of Endless Legend, I would've loved to see The Cult on space, using religion to erase anything related to the Endless... They would've been a good rival of the Vodyani.
SumaTJessT Ikr. But I think the idea of the Vodyani is to incorporate the concept the Cultists. And with religions planned for the future, the Cultists would be obsolete.
Don't think so, as a unique faction I still see potential in them and no one hates the Endless more than them, this gives interesting interactions against Horatio (cloning endless tech), The Vodyani, or The Cravers. Besides they have strange but interesting leaders: "The Unspoken" and "The Queen".
SumaTJessT on top of that, their gameplay flavour of mega metropoly and small pockets of influence scattered across the rest of the map, combined with the heavy emphasis on interacting with minor races is something ES2 doesn't have atm.
Well I'm not the fan of Necrophages but I'd pay to see Necrophages vs Cravers.

Both are Bioweapons, but Cravers seem to be far stronger, even there normal "friendly" Drone could almost kill all those pirates in that one comic.

@@EndlessUniverse Haven't played ES yet, but from what I've been looking at, it'd probably be either United Empire or Horatio. I'm inherently drawn towards the UE, but who knows? Maybe they end up as Roving Clans or the Forgotten(Mega Cool, but not favorites). Vaulters have got the best intro though. opBot lol!
In Endless Legend? Choosing between Morgawr and Mykara is hard! Probably the shrooms, by just a tiny bit. I'd really want to give the Forgotten the third place, but they are just ... not that good, just cool. So, the third place goes to the Ardent Mages. Bloodragers extraordinaire!
To be perfectly honest, I was kinda hoping we get to see some Forgotten accompanying the Vaulters. Sisters of Mercy are cool, but I would really like to see the Forgotten and Vaulters make up and join forces to face that galaxy together as one people.
Cool thing I think the Necrophages won Endless Legend. According to the comic at least.
