Crested Kingfisher | Sattal | Uttarakhand | May 2024

The Crested Kingfisher is one of Asia's largest kingfishers. In India, it is a resident in the Himalayas and mountain foothills. The species has a preference of larger rivers at the foothills of mountains in their range. While listed as Least Concern by the IUCN Red List, the species is in decline in China.
