I purchased my first San Martin watch this year - their Tudor red pip homage and was so impressed that I bought two more in the 11.11 sale. I agree with you that the level of finishing and the clasp/bracelet combo is worth the extra dough. We're talking cheap money for a big return. I keep telling people that if it had Seiko on the dial, it would be selling for $600 or more and it would probably still have a pressed clasp, unsigned crown and possibly even hollow endlinks. They may not be the most original designs, but they do a remarkable job on them. Especially for the price.
Nice comparrison, man. people always ask me why should they pay the extra cash for a san martin over a pagani, or steeldive....and this video sums it up pretty well. everything on the san martin is just a little bit nicer. whether that's worth it, that's up to them.
Thanks man! And yes you’re absolutely right. It depends on how much people want to spend on a homage. But for the price of this one, it’s a no brainer for me
I love both brands and I have a good collection of each. San Martin is the best watch . I can't spend 2000 on a watch but get a san martin and I easily would wear with Oris quality. Everyone is about price. I look for quality. San martin best brand out there. My addiesdive watches are so awsome for the price. When I give these as gifts I really believe that they are the best. If you put a rolex in with the lights out. I bet the rolex would be second. My 1st video with you. Thank you. 😊 👊
Great review! I might get the AD version. Again (& for so many Ali brands), I wish they would rebrand to a nicer name, 'Addiesdive' is unwieldy, and does not suit non-divers at all.
Notoriety is from Notorious so let's hope not! I made a few san Martin watches and love them especially my bb36 with a high beat movment. It's accurate to 3 seconds a day in all 6 positions and was incredible value in my opinion
I have two Steeledives and an Addiesdive, all flieger watches. Have the black 39mm San Martin and for the prices I paid, my rating - including value - would be close... might even give a slight edge to the Steel/Addies watchs but for the prices you quote here... no comparison. The San Martin is very nice. If you didn't see the logo or know the source, someone unfamiliar with AliExpress might think it was a$700 watch. The Steeledives and Addiesdives choices... VERY good for the price, but most people are going to be aware than they are handling a budget watch. A phenomenal budget watch, but still, a budget watch.
The 3-6-9 dial on the AD has another slight disadvantage: the lume on the numerals is slightly darker than on the hands. On the ADs with the snowflake hands this is not the case.
Totally agree with you there, the Addiesdive print ruins the dial which also looks ugly and unnecessary. If San Martin could use the NH38 movement would be brilliant.
I think this Epson movement is a rebranding the movement you can find in Orient Makos. So,very similar to a nh35. Last thing: Can you give us the link to buy that clasp? Thanks. Ciao
I don't think Addiesdive and San Martin are made in the same factory, Addiesdive are produced in Shenzhen whereas San Martin are made in Dongguan, they obviously share component suppliers but, from what I understand, final assembly and finishing are done in their own respective facilities
After finding and watching your review of the blue SM i bought one! Funny, that it was between the SM and Addiess but that Addies logo is huge and their blue dial is matte and not sunburst.
I bought a new Addiesdive and, although it looks brilliant, its accuracy is terrible. Even worse, the accuracy is inconsistent even if you handwind it every day. One day it may be 30 seconds fast, the next day it may be 45 seconds slow. Addiesdive recently released a diver with a VH31 movement; they should just stick with this meccaquartz movement and give up on the useless Seiko (clone?) autos.
Nice comparison, but how are you giving the best 230 dollar watch you can buy a 6/10? Doesnt really make sense if its the best watch available in that price range.
Thanks for watchin! I definitely said this in the video, but it’s because San Martin is not a well known brand yet. Brand is a very important thing in the Watch community, which is exactly why I have a separate category for it. At the end of the day they are still an AliExpress brand from china. I absolutely love their watches though, so I could care less about that personally
@@watchinout8832 AHH ok fairplay I see where you're coming from. Just thought 4 points off for brand recognition seemed a little high maybe as 6/10 suggests it's a very average piece.
It’s an exceptional homage, but it’s still a homage. Until San Martin make some original designs that start to get peoples attention, their brand will not be as respected as it should. A company like steinhart gets away with it because they have been around for a little while, and they also have that ever so important “Swiss made” on the dial. I thought it was an accurate score for this brand. But overall my scores for this San Martin are phenomenal. I don’t think my scores suggest this piece is average at all. I think it got an 8 or higher in every other category. As a reviewer I need to show people the full picture. The brand isn’t about this specific Watch, but the brand as a whole.

I think i will go for the addiesdive. I dont want to spend 250 dollars in a homage and also i dont like the movement the san martin watch has.
Same. But I’m glad San Martin exists. It makes other Chinese micro brands increase their watch quality which is good for us consumers.
Nice comparrison, man.

Can't buy the Sn 020G sunburst blue limited any more :(
It would have been useful when talking about the movement to mention the accuracy.

I have them both (the Addiesdive with the snowflake hands). Like 'em a lot.

The lume is uniform overall on the recent production AD 2112 watches

It is. It’s an orient movement that’s is also used in the Kamasu. And yes I will add the link

Glad my videos helped! You’re going to love it!
The blue AD dial is NOT matte, it's glossy, but not sunburst (I have it).
can the sanmartin sn020 bracelet fit the addiesdive? I'm thinking of getting that addies then changing its bracelet to the sanmartin's
Not sure and I no longer have the addiesdive
When is the seiko5 dressKX vs San martin video? 😎
I thought this was a more relevant comparison considering they’re both homages, but I can certainly still do that comparison as well!
Nice comparison. Useful video
Thanks!

San martin all day .
Those two watches are very different quality wise

Thanks for the video. I would buy the SM for me and gift the AD...LOLOLOL Both very nice for the money.
Sorry but the epsom is a huge no go for anyone in the UK....there are no Epson service centers in the UK
Avoid it like the black death
Are you really going to service a $40 movement though? When it stops working in 10 years you can just replace it
@@watchinout8832 True LOL. We also don't service our mobile phones after 2 years, just replace it.
Addiesdive looks better and has a classy look. San Martin's Logo is horrible.
Addiesdive logo looks terrible in anything other than a dive watch
