Yes you actually harvest the green onions cuz the onions grow down the soil..until it like 3 harvests of the greens then you good to pull the onions out
I used to buy floral arrangements 50-125 per month bc my son would cry 😢 when the flowers were cut. He loved beautiful things. From 2-5yo he cared about flowers 💐. He would be so upset. So we bought roses. He would stomp around and get so upset and bawl. We had to buy the flowers 💐. Younger children have a need for beauty.
These are not spring onions. These are seeds of red onions and yellow onions. You can use the tops, but it doesn't taste quite the same.. This is a beautiful video.
Why not cut those root ends in half or 4ths if each pc still has a root and grow multiple onions instead of the same onion ? That's wasted time if you ask me... get more bang for your buck so to speak.

I think it will start to produce flower which will turn into seeds, and then the seeds can be planted to grow new onions... not sure
