In the vedas different caste are supposed to be different parts of "God" and those who people thought were untouchables were actually supposed to be the feet(Isn't touching people's feet a thing in Hinduism). It was somewhat needed in those days as they didn't have schools. So you usually had to learn whatever you can from your parents. Suddenly a Brahmin started to feel like he was superior than the rest of the castes and so on. It's the people's fault.

It was supposed to be based on their occupation not on their birth, as there are many examples in Mahabharata and Ramayana. And thing about originating from "God", they just used the analogy to "classify" not "discriminate". Read about Ambedkar's views on the origin of this caste system.

When u study vedas and puran's you will become a bipra And lastly when u will have brahmma gyan I.e when you can recognize your inner god you will become a brahmin. It doesn't forbid a hindu from believing that Mohammed is the messenger of God and that Allah alone is to be worshipped. He is expressing a brand of Hinduism that our generation grew up with in middle class homes and liberal parents and catholic schooling where diction was more valued than denomination and Sanskrit was a tiresome subject and the Gita was nowhere at home and too esoteric to fathom...a brand of Hinduism in urban apartments and material comforts. The lived faith in small towns and villages is getting a voice now and we the urban well heeled are cringing in discomfort. Yes there is a book...yes there is a creed. First of all, there is probably not a single Malayali who hasn't contributed in some way or the other to the relief work in Kerala. There were private individuals, organizations, film-actors, temples, churches, mosques, government officials, IAS officers and most importantly, the army and poor fishermen who risked their life to save others. But only one group felt the need to advertise their alleged 'role' in the rescue operations. Even more shameless, they were was caught circulating at least half a dozen fake images, including from Gujarat, Bengal, even old pictures from unrelated events in Kerala. That group was the RSS. Initially, they also tried to use fake news to prevent people from contributing to the relief fund. They were caught running empty vehicles with Seva bharathi posters tied on them. They tried to forcibly take over relief materials we had collected in a school near us and police had to be summoned. I'm not saying that RSS didn't do anything good at all - they probably did, like every other Malayali did! But then, those are probably good human beings belonging to the organisation, who acted of their own accord. What the RSS organization did was try to create fake credit on one hand and try to sabotage relief work on the other. The kerala floods really exposed how cruel and shameless these people are! PS: Many relief camps were in Temples, Mosques, Churches and schools - I didn't see anyone clamouring for credit.

1- Believe in god ! Astik - accepted
2- Don't believe in God !- you're accepted as Nastik
3- You want to worship idols - please go ahead. You are a Murti pujak or idol worshipper (ie "Tratak" pooja)
4- You don't want to worship idols - no problem. You can focus on Nirguna Brahman ie. Shapeless , formless , infinite, without beginning or end (nirvikalp brahama)

When u study vedas and puran's you will become a bipra
And lastly when u will have brahmma gyan I.e when you can recognize your inner god you will become a brahmin. Ultimately everything is based on your karma that's why krishan said in the Bhagwad geta that
Chaturvaran Moya sristo Guna karmena Bhivageshu. Which means varna I.e caste system is fully based on the karma and your qualities.

He is expressing a brand of Hinduism that our generation grew up with in middle class homes and liberal parents and catholic schooling where diction was more valued than denomination and Sanskrit was a tiresome subject and the Gita was nowhere at home and too esoteric to fathom...a brand of Hinduism in urban apartments and material comforts. The lived faith in small towns and villages is getting a voice now and we the urban well heeled are cringing in discomfort. Yes there is a book...yes there is a creed. Yes there are prayers and yes there are rituals. But we follow them when our parents pass on...

Anybody can follow the core beliefs of Hinduism, but there's no ceremony to facilitate the conversion. Precious. I believe that alone is enough to describe how peaceful it is.
Everyone born in this world is a hindu, what I mean away from God. That is why God invites them to come out & choose Life. Jesus said I am the way, the truth & life, no one comes to the father (God) except thru me.
People all over the world adopt it. So it will be unfair to deny them the right to call themselves a Hindu.

I believe in RSS too.. I believe that they are a terrorist organization which is the Hindu equivalent of the Islamic terrorist organizations.. They are trying to replace Hinduism, which is diverse, colourful and defeats categorization, with a homogeneous, restrictive religion, much like Islam. The end goal would be to capture and retain power, like ISIS. For that, they'll need to first take over the temples. They're trying hard, but still unable to do that. Which is why all they misinformation of temple income going to government, etc.. Meanwhile, they spawned BJP to get control of the government.The only problem is that people who are stupid enough to believe in their ideology are also incapable of running the country. Hence the Modi mess that we're seeing today!
There is a good example shown in kerela by Rss they work for them not by asking religion and with that they also clean churches and mosques...but know about Rss for that just fir 2 or 3 month go to shakas after that give ur opinions.
@sanjay yadav Oh please don't talk about the Kerala fake relief.. I am from Kerala - every keralite knows the kind of unethical things they did. First of all, there is probably not a single Malayali who hasn't contributed in some way or the other to the relief work in Kerala. There were private individuals, organizations, film-actors, temples, churches, mosques, government officials, IAS officers and most importantly, the army and poor fishermen who risked their life to save others. But only one group felt the need to advertise their alleged 'role' in the rescue operations. Even more shameless, they were was caught circulating at least half a dozen fake images, including from Gujarat, Bengal, even old pictures from unrelated events in Kerala. That group was the RSS. Initially, they also tried to use fake news to prevent people from contributing to the relief fund. They were caught running empty vehicles with Seva bharathi posters tied on them. They tried to forcibly take over relief materials we had collected in a school near us and police had to be summoned.
I'm not saying that RSS didn't do anything good at all - they probably did, like every other Malayali did! But then, those are probably good human beings belonging to the organisation, who acted of their own accord. What the RSS organization did was try to create fake credit on one hand and try to sabotage relief work on the other. The kerala floods really exposed how cruel and shameless these people are!
PS: Many relief camps were in Temples, Mosques, Churches and schools - I didn't see anyone clamouring for credit.

I am soon going to write a letter to you about some of my unanswered questions regarding to Cultural nationalism as to what extent it can be maintained. I am in awe of the way you separate the line between it and Territorial nationalism. Also one liners and parables in between are worth pondering over. Thanks once again. This was not experience for me . It was REALISATION.
