West side Story😊
No Vertigo or Rebecca? Vertigo is easily my no1.
@@greekveteran2715 Vertigo and Rebecca are great movies! 👏👏
Some of these isn't from the "Golden Age".
The best here. Real classics
While I don’t necessarily agree with the order of this list it was certainly an awesome list of classical movies and everyone belonged there. However, because it was a relatively short list it couldn’t help to leave some out. These are just a few of my favourites that didn’t make the list. 1. “To Sir with Love” 2. “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner” 3. “High Society” 4. “Star Wars” 🙏🏼👏💝
Golden days of Hollywood. Now is trashy days of Hollywood.
Since I haven't seen many of my top ten films in years (50 is for film scholars ) if I saw them again I might rethink their inclusion. I also see very few foreign language films so there's only one on my list. In reverse order mostly off the top of my head:
10. A Patch Of Blue
9. Breaking The Waves
8. The Heart is A Lonely Hunter
7. Tootsie (Best romantic comedy ever made)
6. The Wizard of Oz (Best children's film ever made)
5. Vertigo
4. Psycho
3. Sunset Blvd.
2 The Apartment
1. Scrooge (1951, Sim)
1. The More The Merrier 2. Body and Soul 3. The Apartment 4. Mrs. Miniver 5. Lonely Are The Brave 6. Out Of The Past 7. The Third Man 8. The Great Dictator 9. The Producers 10. The Adventures of Robin Hood.
Who is afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966). The movie was nominated for all the 13 eligible Academy Awards. Won 5. Elizabeth Taylor won her second AA.vr
Very good Somewhere in time may someday make that list.
African Queen
That is a great list
With all the great movies out there, I don’t know how anyone can narrow it down to only 50 movies. I’m attempting to build a nice comprehensive eclectic collection. I watch UA-cam movie lists to inspire me to chose more. These 50 are all great choices and each are already a part of my collection 0t over 4,900 titles (so far).
Ben Hur is my favorite movie
Great to watch. Many may not agree. Have other complications of best western, comedy etcs.🎉
There are a few that i don't think belong on this list, but the sound of music at number FOUR?!?!?
