You are so right on the change of clothes for the second half of the day. And even if you don't change clothes, putting a fresh pair of socks is helpful. And YES, Water is life... Drink it often!
Just finished 8 days at Disney and Universal and all of these tips are perfect - especially the water- it is essential! My granddaughters and I looked for you, Molly as we love your videos, your personality and your “roller coaster giggle”…. I will add that an umbrella with UV protection serves double duty for light rain AND it will keep you much cooler. I used mine all day every day to beat the heat! Add a portable fan, and you will be much happier in a long line.
Yes… we use the umbrella to keep the sun off (I live in AZ and we use umbrellas for this a lot!). We just returned a couple weeks ago and our granddaughters loved having this option.
Disney should sell after 4:00 tickets -- ESPECIALLY during the summer! Parents dragging their toddlers and parents around the parks in 90-90 heat is nothing short of abuse. But they do it every day! -- and for no other reason than to squeeze every penny of value out of their $120+ theme park tickets.
Molly, great info, but you forgot my favorite quick service location for sitting down and eating in Magic Kingdom - Pinocchio Village Haus. Not only are you out of the sun, but some tables let you see the boats departing to go on It's A Small World (I didn't see any of the sign that you used to be able to show pre-COVID, but the windows are still great places to sit.).
Love these Molly reports! One trip I put on a rain jacket, took it off, put it back on, took it off and this was just going down Main Street AND it was humid. I don't know who was controlling the weather that morning but i was prepared. Totally agree that going back to your hotel break is best! We did that last time and it helped so much before we went out for dinner. PS: I always have a water bottle with me.
Off topic question. Where did you get the Dino shirt? Me and my girls love it and want one. Thanks for all the tips. We love your videos. Presser Family.
The drinking water part is no joke - on our first visit in August 1995 my brother was 14 and my parents kept telling him to drink water but all he drank was Coca Cola. He ended up throwing up in the outdoor line of The Great Movie Ride (RIP) and my mum sent him to First Aid with my dad because she wasn't making me miss the ride when he hadn't listened!!
IDK who needs to watch this video, but my guess is ANYONE going to WDW anytime. This is all great advice. We are not rope drop people typically, but we do love park entry around 3 and that is typ[ically when it rains..we schedule an early dinner and catch some indoor rides! We love Disney cruising to avoid the exhaustion!! Hoping to see you boarding the Wish soon so we will be ready!!
I just got back to CA from the Magic Kingdom a week ago. I can attest that the weather is the absolue worst part. I was DYING. I lost 5 lbs in sweat. Do not take the weather lightly. I thought I would be ok because I thought most of the ride queue;s were inside. But the ones inside were still as hot as the outside, I was not happy :P
Last summer I made it into Peter Pan seconds before it started to pour. We watched everyone in fantasyland get completely soaked. It made the 75 minute line less awful🙈😂
Can you make a video about what it's like during the off-season/Winter? I'd be interested to know tips for rides, packing, busy dates to avoid and weather.
Thank you so much for this! We're finally taking our canceled April 2020 trip. I was looking forward to April Florida, not really looking forward to June/July Florida...
I am currently sitting in our fifth wheel in south Georgia, it is hotter than the surface of the sun, we are in the middle of a rain storm with 45 to 55 mile per hour gusts so I agree with all your tips, except maybe water parks cause like you, I don't like them.
we neeeeed a video with molly going to cosmic rewind and how the virtual queue works in action in the park. when is the best time to hit it to avoid crowds? how bad are the crowds? how to ride remy and cosmic and frozen etc. would loooove this!!!!
This Month On June 27, 2022; Me And My Asian Soulmate (Maya) Are Finally Getting Married At Disneyland Resort In Anaheim, California; Where She Grew Up At.
I have to keep repeating the mantra to myself every time I go to WDW in the summer: Iced coffee is not water...iced coffee is not water...iced coffee is not water...
Last trip my husband and I decided to go in when we woke up and stay until park close. We are more night people so it was a more natural schedule for us. Rope drop to close is just not something we can do anymore.
Don't discount the quick service at your hotel if you take a break during the heat of the day. Even All Stars (at wdw) and Surfside (at UO) have good food at the quick service restaurants. My only nit pick is that the seating area when I was at Surfside wasn't all that big, but it won't be all that crowded during peak park time for a lot of people, and the options were basically a burger or a different burger (but this was a bit ago) . At All Star Sports I was able to get delicious food (I got the plant based tuna salad and a whipped 50th cheesecake dome) and they have plenty of space to sit and chill out right by the bus stop.
Very helpful, Molly. I appreciate the drink water, not soda, coffee, or alcohol. Some people don’t understand caffeinated beverages are dehydrating. We are going to Disneyland next week, and as a WDW person, I was shocked from all of the differences thus far. You should do a video about that. Booking packages online is a huge difference, like not seeing your tickets in the app until 4 days before the trip. Also you can’t book theme park reservations until like 90 days before the trip. Dining reservations are 60 days prior, so if you want to book a dining reservation each day of the trip, you have to book each day in advance, and reservations don’t open till 9 am EST. How do you scan LL in without magic bands for your whole party. Keep in mind kids cannot create a Disney profile in the app. Booking LL after park entry. So many differences!
Not Molly here, but I agree, DL and WDW are completely different trips. As for the LLs in DL, most people use their phones since MaxPass and now Genie + were built on the phone app, but you can use your entrance ticket.
You definitely can see your Disneyland tickets in the app once booked. I'm going at the end of Sept. and tickets are visible in the app. It's annoying because you have to use the My Disneyland account on a computer to link everything. It's weird that My Disneyland and My Disney Experience are not the same, and My Disneyland is not user friendly at all.
@@rebeccareznicek3478 Thanks Rebecca. I talked to Disney about why I didn’t see my tickets in the app and they said I couldn’t link them until 4 days before. I bought a package: tickets and resort together
I think it's hilarious that I was drinking a large bottle of water at home in my air-conditioned house when Molly was like 'look at me in the eyes; drink water'... Yes ma'am!
@@akdisney it does get very hot, I’ve been in the summer, many times. But the heat is dry and it doesn’t get hurricane season storms so…still wins for weather.
Hi Molly, regarding the mobile app does it accept the travel card visa as there are a lot of places that still don’t ? When travelling from the uk you get charged by the bank twice every time you use your bank card so options are travel card or cash as using your bank card lots over a 2week period will add up in charges….! Are Disney and Universal considering this with the app. Many thanks xx
Not at all! Last year we used umbrellas to shade from the sun. In the mid-day outdoor line for Minnie and Mickey's Runaway Railway they saved the day and people told us how they wished they had brought umbrellas.

Is this statement correct?:
The ONLY advantage of going to WDW/US in the Summer is that kids won’t miss school.
Is there ANY other advantage?
That’s why I take my kiddo out on off season, missing a week will/does not hurt in my opinion.
This is super interesting and helpful both for Disney vacation interests and potential carryover application for living in the area.
Where did you get the zip lock bag holders for your kitchen drawers? I need some now!
Thank you molly
We always travel to Disney in April and October. We plan assignments for the kids who always earn credit to cover missed school days.
I would also add one of those battery operated mist fans and a cooling towel.
