It was interesting to me that she chose to conclude the Christmas concert with this cover. She was 15, and about to launch some really big, powerful covers like the Adele pieces and her originals. This performance was like a whole different Angelina vocal, IMO. A new direction. I remember thinking it was going to be very exciting to hear her new stuff in the near future. I also prefer Angelina's version to Lauren's.
Every time she brings tears in my eyes cause it is so beautiful. Angelina Jordan ASTAR (the name says it all), this young norwegian genius is imo the best singer on the planet! I am 71 y old and have never heard a singer like her in my whole life. Her voice touches my heart and cleanses my soul.

Thanks for the lyrics summary. Thought of the song as uplifting, but probably because of the beautiful vocals and I like the melody. I agree with your assessment. I think Angelina & Lauren sound nearly identical until parts when Angelina adds embellishments that upgrade the song for me.
Your recording issue was classic serendipity in action bro..always enjoy sharing time with you Ellis. You’re an artist Ellis so you’ll understand the relevance of the lyrics when you know she dedicated this performance to her angels..till next time..I’m not sure this is a sad song though..it’s, in essence, a recognition of our influence on Angelina as an artist..we are her support network..this is her thanking us for that..
👍👍Angelina is has "superpower" vocals. This performance is one of my favorite Christmas songs. She is singing to the Lord. This is not a sad song, it is an uplifting song. 😊 🖖❤

From Angelina's "VALERIE" to her rendition of Baby Fuzz's "I'M STILL HOLDLDING OUT FOR YOU", she manages to bring us from joyful ecstasy to heartbreaking depression. Maybe with a bit less bourbon my words would make better sense.

that is no backing track. I watched this show live on stream. The musicians who played with her are in the epic range, and the pianist was a last minute subsitution for someone who couldn't make it. I can't remember his name, or how many Emmies and Grammies he had (or the rest of the musicians who had a ridiculous number between then and did the most amazing interviews live)

If you read this Ellis, you should check out her new song on why she sings bare feet. It was premiere on it in Las Vegas show 29. february this year. It is called "Princess of ruins". Various quality on what is out there. Can say that Knut Hegland version(Norwegian) is quite good. Filmed by cellphone, but surprisingly good compared to others. Hope you read this. Love from Norwegian subscriber. But if you wait until James Thiel or Big Angie fan puts this song out, quality will be guarantied.

Ellis, based on the distorted sound of Angelina’s voice, in addition to my having watched this performance about thirty times, I’m detecting a slight increase in the tempo and pace of this video. This is not the correct pace of the song.

I guess that you weren't saved by Lauren's religious treatise. A moving vocal performance however.
She is covering songs for more than 10 years which she has done it perfectly but when it comes to her own material it's so disappointing that she is way to far from being a pop superstar who knows maybe she is just OK with that maybe she knows something about her limit that we don't know and she knows she can never be a global pop star and she is just happy with arranging a concert once in a while with just a few thousands old audiences and then posting video clips about herself and her mom(gucci pack) and sister and putting all her family members including her cousins on the spotlight
I Totally dissagree with your viewpoint on Angelina. She done so many covers we have more of that to like than her own songs . My favorite songs of hers are usually adele covers which I like better than adeles. she has some great original songs of her own. Adele is a better song writer than angelina but angelina is a better vocalist than adele IMHO. Angelina isnt going for global pop star? Shes more of a JAZZ or Ballot singer. shes just very versitile so folks get confused what she is. God Bless Anyway.
