How often is the EEM process checking syslog or is it always checking the policy when a new event shows up in the syslog?

From what I heard, packet tracer lacks CCNP commands. So, it's better to virtulize it up !

Does the applet trigger execution event show up in the log?

You can add an action to enter a log message. For the example in the video add this to the end
action 1.4 syslog msg "This will appear in the logs"
