@@OpinionatedOG184 Tesla and Rivian owners complain about that all the time. The fact that there’s aftermarket CarPlay screens custom made for Teslas shows that people want it.
I'm a GM EV supporter, but i am not getting a vehicle that requires a subscription to connect my phone for calls and media. Is that the case here? Straight answer please.
Great question. In-Vehicle App-Access does require an active OnStar planc, however, we have many plan options to suit your needs. From the Connected Vehicle Plan which includes in-vehicle apps, Alexa Built-In, Wi-Fi Hotspot with unlimited data, and real-time navigation and traffic updates or the App Access Plan which includes access to Alexa features and skills. If you have any additional questions regarding service options, please feel free to send us an email at socialmedia@gm.com with the subject line "GeeDeeBird, Chevrolet, UA-cam".
@@Chevrolet Thanks. Sadly, your answer gave me the information I need and didn't want to hear. As much as I'm rooting for GM, I won't buy a car that requires a monthly payment to connect my phone.
Hey there, Casey. Please know, Wi-Fi is needed to power all the feature of Google Built In as well as an active data plan with OnStar. If you have any additional questions or concerns, we encourage you to send us an email to Socialmedia@GM.com with the subject headline: "ATTN: [Customer name or @]/Chevrolet/ UA-cam". We will be sure to keep an eye out on any future responses. -Danielle
I refuse to buy any EV that does not allow Apple CarPlay. Google sucks and I do not trust them. Nor will I buy an EV who won’t let me pick the wireless carrier that my car connects to for the built in WiFi.

This seems so convoluted and a huge step back from just having Apple CarPlay or Android Auto
Yes sounds like they don’t want to sell to anyone using iphone.

Can I plug in my phone using USB? My current Blazer has seamless integration with my iPhone
Any way of having it only show someone texted me and not show the text?
yes, there's an option.
So can we not see text messages from our iPhones?
You can. Mentions it does that near the end of the video.
Bring back carplay :(

You're welcome.
I actually think this is great. But how does it connect to the internet? Is another data subscription needed?

This is horrible for a rental car.
