The maturity of your perspective is really impressive. You’re going to look back on this in the future as a medical doctor having overcome all the bullshit the UK education system has thrown at you. Wishing you all the best!
Never give up. I didnt get my desired A levels, did biomed, scraped a 2:1, applied to med, got zero offers, applied again and got 1 offer. I sailed through med school without failing a single exam. You are gonna face adversity on the journey but if you really want this and you work hard enough you will get there. DON’T GIVE UP👊🏿
11:45am update: the medical school said the biomed offer thing was a formality on UCAS so I can take the autumn exams for 2021 entry which are in ~50 days.. but I rightfully will not have to reapply with personal statement, interviews, and sit the UCAT entrance exam again😭

This was so hard to watch I remember the feeling on results day my heart was beating out my chest. Sorry on not getting in to medicine but I know once you sit these exams you’ll bang! You can take a year out and apply next year too! Don’t worry the journey isn’t over and there are so many different routes you can take do studying medicine. Wishing you all the best 💕
I feel for you guys in your final year of A-levels, this year really has just been a shambles 😔 as other comments are saying, please don't let those letters define your self worth!! You had your med school offer (that in itself is a huge achievement), you just need to pull those maths and chem grades up and you're in! I always try to see these downfalls as blessings in disguise. Trust me, med school life is hectic and I wish I had a gap year before coming in because in hindsight a year really is nothing. Although your gap year isnt a conventional one since you still have to do exams, if you put your mind to it, you really will smash it I'm sure (and you'll get to enjoy the rest of your year🥰) Sending you lots of love and good luck, we're all rooting for you xxx
Leah I feel for your right now girl but you've got this, next year WILL be YOUR year I know it!! Keep pushing, keep going, YOU CAN DO IT AND YOU WILL DO IT!! ❤️❤️❤️
My heart really breaks for you, i too applied for medicine but didn’t get any offers, so i wanted to do biomed and do post grad medicine, but now i can barely even get into biomed. So now i have to retake which i really don’t want to do bc now i have to add even more time to my already lengthy uni process. We didn’t deserve this and we have been robbed of our effort, but maybe it will be a good thing and in the future it will be a good thing that things turned out this way.
I missed out on my vetmed offer today so I know exactly how you feel :(:( going to to bioveterinary sciences for a year then try and switch. Good luck for resits!!!
Hey lovely! Just wanted to say that I was worried about how the years add up but as soon as I got to med school I acc realised that 5 years isn’t that long and I was enjoying every second anyway so it didn’t matter. I know it doesn’t change how disappointing today must have been but just wanted you to know the extra few years aren’t too bad 💖 best of luck with your application!!
The irony is that we already have a medics shortage and 2020-21 was / is meant to be a medic dense cohort( I’m including 2021 for the fact that Im in year 12 and so many aspiring medics are already thinking of dropping it because we haven’t been taught for 6 months and nothings being done about exams ) so the government really have potentially cost themselves not one , but two cohorts of medics . This isn’t just exam results Gavin Williamson has toyed with. They really are relying on people’s willpower to persevere with medical ambition after 3 years of biomed instead of going into research.
This is honestly so sad. I’m so sorry for you!! I just received my A-level results a few days back (I live in Asia). The anxiety that I went through when I was waiting for my results is TERRIBLE. But at the end, I got the results that I wanted. I really hope you’ll get through this!! Stay strong!!
you are so so amazing and I am so sorry that this has happened-the results and the rejection does not determine or discredit how hard you have worked especially with how these results have been calculated (your results were still so amazing though!) I honestly believe that everything happens for a reason-and your path is such a bright one and you will thrive so much. You also made such a valid point about mocks too-people did mocks at different times/different intensity’s/people cheated so these results definitely do not reflect or determine your hard work at all. When you can please take time to enjoy yourself and do what you love to do as you deserve it so much. Praying that things work out for you and well done for all the hard work💕💕💕 (edit-you are also going to absolutely smash those Autumn exams! Wishing you so much positivity🙌)
I have a friend living in Abu Dhabi, she told me that even there students were screwed over with grades and they have to pay per subject to appeal- it's bad all over. I wish you all the best, as a fellow Medicine offer holder, my place at Glasgow is deferred to 2021 and I had to take several gap years before even applying. It was honestly the best thing that I could have done. You will get there in the end, you have shown such strength of character- I have no doubt you will be a fantastic doctor.
Leah I just want to say how proud I am of you. You have the most incredible work ethic and I know you will make an amazing doctor in the future. We are in this together and I will support you every step of the way. Love you so so so much and sending you are virtual hug!
Don’t give up! If it is your destiny and you work hard, you will make it ❤️ I applied during A levels and got 1 offer but failed to meet it because I achieved A*ABa instead of AAA. I applied again in my final year of biomedical sciences with a predicted first class and got 3 pre interview rejections and 1 post interview rejection. The third time around (this year) I received 3 interviews and 3 offers and will be starting med school this September. Keep pushing on and you’ll make it. Just know that so many people don’t get in on the first time
Don't let a system make you give up on your dreams, there are so many paths to get to medicine. Life can be so unexpected sometimes, but take a deep breath and keep going, your passion for it will get you there. Personally I didn't make it into my chosen uni's for medicine in the U.K but I'm in my 5th year of medicine in bulgaria, and when I start working in the U.K soon,I'll be back in the same boat as every other junior doctor, all people will see is my title saying Dr, without realising the journey it took for me to get there. Don't ever feel embarrassed or ashamed of these experiences, they are just growing pains, you need them to build the character of that successful person you will become one day.
I’ve had all the feeling you’re having right now when I was going through the process 💔 “Good things come to those who wait”, I know it sucks but keep pushing, you will achieve everything you want in due time!
Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m currently watching this as I’m on hold for my firm choice to see if they’ll let me defer.. good luck with exams ❤️
You know ofqual has really screwed this year over,, but as you said remember to keep positive! Grades don’t define ur self worth. You have such a kind personality and however far in the future it is, you will definitely become a doctor :)
I got results this year as well (which I posted on YT as well.) It was so stressful but luckily I didn't have to go through what you did. I have so much respect for you - you seem so smart and grounded and mark my words you WILL be a doctor! These grades don't define your worth, don't define your potential. Keep at it hun - even an offer for medicine is worthy of HUGE congratulations xx
Nooo. Thats very unfortunate but I am glad they allowed you to defer the conditional offer as long as you get the grades which removes the stress of re applying etc. You have this in the bag easily. 50 or so days is more than enough. You WILL study medicine and it isnt long now. I will try and give advice for improving on A level chemistry and Maths as I myself got a C and D in chemistry and maths in Yr12 but improved on this massively in YR13. You can do this ! Your very lucky to have this second shot and with the stresses of applications being removed all you have to do is study chill and get that offer :)
Leah, just know that for yourself and for people who truly know you as a person you know are deserving and completely capable of that med school place. As your friend I cannot tell you how immensely proud I am of you and I know that had we had the opportunity to actually take those exams you would have excelled at them. You have to know you are so amazing and kind and that the future definitely holds better and more amazing experiences for you. Love you so so much.
Omg, they rlly took centuries to send out the results😭 I know you’ll be fine! You’re super hard working and you’ll get to where you want to be in due time, good luck💚
Don't give up! I got ABB at A-level and took a gap year out to retake my exams in Summer 2020 (obviously miss corona had other plans) but as I was self-studying I couldn't get any assessed teacher grades so didn't get any results on results day. I'm now sitting Autumn exams like you to get in for 2021- don't fret we have got this!! We will look back next September and laugh at all the adversity we've faced to get there- like someone else said rejection is redirection!
Absolutely don't be giving up hope. I remember getting rejected from dental school the first time I sat my A Levels and missing out on every single one of my grades, including my biomed requirements. It was the worst feeling in the world and thought I would never get into dentistry. I left my old school which wasn't right for me at that time and resat my A Levels the next year in a further education college. I got no offers for UK dental schools but I still focused on my grades which were my main priority. I went from BBC to 3A*s in one year, and got offered a place in Dentistry in Trinity College Dublin. I am now in fourth year and am so happy how things worked out. It also gave me more maturity by taking that extra year to try my exams again. if you have your heart set on something you can absolutely achieve it and you will become a doctor! Also don't settle for the UK medical schools, try those in Ireland or Europe! (given they aren't financially straining or taught in a foreign language) Best of luck and I've every faith things will go your way :)
Aston have been extremely unfair with this year's offer holders. I'm in the exact same position, missed my grades because of unfair adjustment. I don't even understand why Aston don't even let us defer, absolutely disgrace of a Uni.
I really hear and feel for you like trust me😭 But I believe we we will get there and make it even if it is with a little more grit than we thought . Let us struggle in solidarity and hopefully we can come out of this predicament even more resilient and ready to smash med school . Love 💙
You’ve been so brave and taken such a mature approach to this! I think that it’s important that you shared this online to show others that it’s not the end if you don’t reach your goal the first time! Everyone has hurdles and this attitude is what helps to progress and become successful 🤍
You are going to do so well in life, I know it! These grades don’t define you and I wish you all the best for the autumn exams! Just know, everything happens for a reason and it will work out for you. I wish you all the best for your future and keep thriving!
I really feel for you girl. I've been feeling the same, like a mixture of anxiety and sickness. Just know that you will be okay, even watching your videos you can tell you're such an intelligent person, so don't feel to bad about your grades, they definitely don't reflect your potential. In my mocks I got BAA* but I've come out with ABB today, so you're not alone! Just see what your options are and take things one step at a time 💕.
You are really inspiring in how you are dealing with the results. I wish I was like that I literally cried. I got AAD that D really hurt I wish the exam boards were more lenient considering the situation. But I wish you all the best and hope that you can achieve your dream. Don't give up! 💜😊
As a parent my heart broke watching your video. I equally felt nauseous with the A levels fiasco. You have an amazing spirit and you are going to be an excellent medic. These results in no way defines you. Stay strong
your resilience throughout this whole time is actually very inspiring. your mindset will carry you through life so successfully. you're not allowing this demonic govt get to you and you're the best.
I’m absolutely gutted for you. These predicted grades aren’t it at all. But everyone’s journey to medicine is different and I’m sure you’ll get in soon enough💕
Back in 2016 I was rejected from med and forced to take a year out to reapply. That year out was one of the best things I ever did and I’m now about to start my fourth year of medicine at uni. Your hard work will pay off in the end - everything happens for a reason! You will get there, there is no rush ❤️
Can I ask you how you applied later to the med school? Did you go to grad med school? Or you applied with your high school results the next year? And really happy that you made it to med school, keep up the hard work! I'm cheering for you!!
Don't let the obvious unfairness of the current situation turn into despair. Remember that you aren't alone in this and that while the obstacles put in front of you might be undeserved, they aren't insurmountable. You will persevere.
@@LeahRebecca I'm sooooo stressed for GCSE results day. I'm shaking, sorry this has happened to u. But if anything goes wrong for me, I'll remember this vid and that I'm not suffering alone too
aw i'm so sorry, i know it's hard but you will get where you are intended to be in the end. the government did so so many people dirty this year. so so many people are in your position. I'll be rooting for you and i can't wait to get updates from you in the future. i'm sure your future will still be bright
This is by far the craziest video I have ever seen! Really gave me flashbacks to last year oh my goodness! You have the strength of... I don't even know it's indescribable! I don't know if things have turned around with CAGs for you. But if you have to do the Autumn exams, think about it you have plenty of time. This is as if you started revising in Easter. Of course, because you haven't had school it's going to be harder but you have one less A-level to worry about! I really really hope it works out for you and I'm so sorry the government has thrown you around like this. Don't give up you're so so close! Best of luck!! 💖💖
leah!! i've already said this to you on ig but you're going to smash the autumn exams, periodt! you're so hard working, i just know you'll end up being an amazing doctor in the future
There is always a way, My brother 3 years ago did 3 A levels, he did Maths, Physics and Computer Science, he ended up getting DDB, and he's now doing a maters Degree in Computing (I forgot what course specifically for computing). Anyway what I'm saying is even in Turmoil, there is always a silver lining for the future.
You know that you could’ve done better than that!! Congrats for the hard work you’ve down over the past two years, and I hope everything works out for you💓💓💓💓
I got messed up by the system as well! I got downgraded both my A* to an A (vid on my channel) which meant I almost missed out on going to Cambridge!! Honestly thank god that they have now changed the way grades are assessed. So hopefully all you guys get the grades you need! But by far its been the most unfair situation I've gone through so far. Subbed for the journey ahead :)
Aww I can imagine how stressful that day was. God has a plan for you and with your hard work, dedication and attitude you will do amazingly well ( I don’t just feel it but I know you are gonna get far and have a bright future) keep on working hard lovely you got this 💪💪
very disheartening that genuine people who dont cheat and actually revised their a levels had to go through this. Im just happy Alevel exams are next year for me and it will be a true representation of who you are.
I’m so glad you’re not basing your self worth of these grades. If you want any inspo for your gap year or just want to talk about resitting, give me a message on insta because I’ve been in the same boat 💖
I got rejected from medicine because my moderated result brought me down 1 grade (I got ABB, but was predicted AAA), so I've got a place for biomedical science and I'm going to apply to do medicine as a postgraduate. Another 3 years but oh well it will be worth it in the end, are you able to apply for medicine for next year if you do well in Autumn exams? 50 days is a bit short to study for the exam considering you haven't been taught it, hopefully they will account for that. The system is so messed up.
yes all routes are are worth the end result🥺 i’m a bit worried but ive been doing some over lockdown so hopefully I can do well😭 good luck to you too🙏🏾
I applied for biomed eng at ucl. They gave me an offer for AAA, and i got ADD biology maths and physics WHICH IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. i dont know how i got D’s, i have never got such bad grades in my life😔. Ucl obviously rejected me and my plan is to sit physics and maths in autumn and do chemistry As and A2 in june so i can apply to med school for the 2021 series at king’s london. I got straight A* and A in igcse and got bbb in As so the Ds were out of the ordinary but what can you do.
Bro appeal your grades you can still get into ucl. I missed my offer needed AAA got BBB felt violated....but they said appeal and they’ll hold your spot for all students who had offers and if your appeal is successful and you meet the grades you’ll get it. I’m appealing and hoping for the best, if not I have a clearing choice back up as I didn’t even get my insurance 🤧 it’s a shit situation fr idk how they managed to fuck it up this bad.
Hassan Khan man youre close im way off. At this point id be needing a miracle to study biomed at ucl this year. And how the appeals be set up, i doubt they’d change my grade that much. I mean the only way would have to be what the scottish did. I think ima just stick to applyin again next year😔 cause i need a scholarship and they give it to the top unis so clearing wouldnt cut it.
It's not about the situation, but rather how we react to these situations. My heart definitely goes out to you and I'm praying God's plan for you will always work out. No matter what happens next, i know at the very end you'll be able to look back and be grateful. You know yourself better than the government ever will and know how much hard work you put in. Please take sometime to control your thoughts and take care of yourself. May your autumn exams go wonderfully. Sending God's Love xxx
APPEALLLL!!! I just got a D grade in Maths (I retook this year) when I got a C last year and was predicted a B this year! Luckily I got into my firm but I'm definitely appealing and I suggest you do too because some of these grades make NO sense
The government should permit for school in terms of appeals where the student can take the exam with the right ppe at school and prove they can get the grade. Hop it goes well for you!!!
Honestly, you're not alone. The same thing has happened to many people. Just stay motivated and prepare, the autumn exams are only 2 months away! Dont forget to see this as an opportunity to take a year to sort out other things that you might want to do e.g. driving or other hobbies. How are you feeling now?
HEY REMEMBER me. I got rejected to, was given an acc, centre assessed grades were aab , recent mocks were abb. Didn't give me a flipping chance to appeal .
my head of year personally wanted to look into my case and see what happened, but right now im gonna appeal for my mocks or something and get in to clearing
I’m in the same shoes 😭 got rejected from UCL to do Geography (AAA) and ended up getting ADD (D in maths and physics 😬). I’m gonna try to appeal them but I have no clue what to do 😣
Thanks for sharing. Shame on Boris and the rest of the fools he employs. It’s utterly despicable that they lock you out of school and then mess up your grades. Why is the Education Secretary still in a job?
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱 Leah, that was such a rollacoaster of emotions- mostly from me watching in suspense!! 🤣 You are amazing and STRONG. 💪😤👊🗣. One thing I’ve learnt this lockdown is that life is not fair. But we have to make it bearable with our strength and power. You go and show the idiots who gave you those grades who’s boss and prove them WRONG 😡. I’m so happy that you were pleased with your EPQ and Bio though- you deserve that and more. Exams are a time to prove people wrong, and that’s why I was so gutted back in March. Say to yourself everyday- “I AM STRONG” and maybe some other affirmations- spray paint them on your wall or get a tattoo with it (😂). I am getting my GCSE results next weeks and I know that I have to give myself this advice as well or I’ll be a hypocrite 😅. 50 days isn’t long, but you are bigger than the books and will smash those exams. I believe in you and I know you do too. You are an inspiration to us all- keep us updated on the autumn journey you’re on. Sone day you’re gonna be a great doctor- not only in skill, but also with your inner strength and compassion. Also- celebrate the fact that you made it through those hard too years. I haven’t even started my A levels yet but I haven’t ever heard them being called easy. I am also doing Bio, Chem and Maths (and EPQ and f maths- if I can cope though) to do medicine most likely, so thank you for inspiring and reminding me to work hard and fight against adversity. Have an amazing year and thank you!! Xx This will make your even better if you decide it to be. (Don’t mean to be so forward in this comment, but I’m gonna read this to myself next week to calm me down and stoping me from having a another panic attack)
SO SO SO PROUD OF YOU LEAH👏🏾❤👏🏾 ❤ So brave of you to share your entire application journey with us online! I know so many people will be able to relate to this video and will be in a similar position. 🙌🏾 So proud of you getting an A in biology btw!! You have such a great mindset, you're right absolutely everything happens for a reason, you'll look back in a few years time and be glad that everything happened the way it has now! I have absolute faith that you WILL get into Medicine! It's just a matter of time, whether you choose to do Biomed and transfer or do the autumn exams, I believe in you!! ❤❤
@@LeahRebecca Don't mention it. My own daughters narrowly escaped this particular fiasco - allthough, if you've followed education policy for the last few years, you'll be aware that fiascos are not uncommon. At least our excuse for a government has been forced to go back to teacher predictions. I wish you all the best for your future. Sadly, my generation failed to make the difference that we believed we would, so It's kind of all up to your generation now - so, no pressure then 🙂 From meeting my daughter's friends and coming across people like you online, I have every faith in your generation. Good luck for the future.
I'm so sorry Leah, this situation has been so tough on you guys and it's shame that this is how this has turned out :( I missed my offer for medicine due to illness and I took the year out to reapply and resit exams and now I'm just finishing my third year of medical school! Everything happens for a reason and only God can see the end of a anything but I would 100% resit and reapply! Feel free to DM me if you want any advice or just to chat
Don’t worry too much - these things happen for a reason, even though we don’t know why! A,B and D gives you a total of 8 points out of 12, which makes your overall average 2.6 which is between C and D. I am surprised you didn’t have to do physics - when I did ‘A’ levels for medicine, only 1 person (out of 3 applying for medicine) at my school didn’t do physics for medicine, and she got into 1st year. She also failed chemistry. The 2nd person failed physics and chemistry and got into 1st year - at a different University. I did 4 subjects (biology, physics, chemistry and maths), and passed all, and went into 2nd year. This was a LONG time ago (1970) and women had to have a B average - men only had to have a C average!!
im praying things work out for you after the announcement that were getting the centre assessed grades! im in the exact same boat, predicted A*AB, graded ACD :( please consider grad entry medicine! Im going to study med science for 3 years then applying for Grad entry medicine!!
I really feel for you, girl. The government has completely screwed you guys over. It is vile. But don't give up hope, this is a disappointing setback (to put it very lightly), but you're going to go places. Best of luck xx
I can relate to this video. Keep refreshing the webpage but failed every time. I got my results through my school’s email first and was so afraid to open it.
Hey as long as you tried your best it's fine and remember there are other careers too. I am going into year 10 and I am really stressed about my gcse's and I want to go to medical school too.
I had the same problem with UCAS yesterday. I even had to try on the way to school- was allowed to go in . I’m sorry that you didn’t get the grades that you needed but good luck for your exams in September- which one(s)are you doing . In my school some of my friends were downgraded by 2/3 grades so it is definitely is messed up.
So sorry Leah about this! I’m rooting for you to get in next year. Keep your head up, this is not your fault. I’m an incoming grad first year medical student, feel free to reach out to me if you want any advice/support.

They really are relying on people’s willpower to persevere with medical ambition after 3 years of biomed instead of going into research.
yes they definitely need to expand medical schools to prepare for the ageing population 😭 I hope all goes well for you 🥺
This is honestly so sad. I’m so sorry for you!! I just received my A-level results a few days back (I live in Asia). The anxiety that I went through when I was waiting for my results is TERRIBLE. But at the end, I got the results that I wanted. I really hope you’ll get through this!! Stay strong!!
😭😭 thank you
you are so so amazing and I am so sorry that this has happened-the results and the rejection does not determine or discredit how hard you have worked especially with how these results have been calculated (your results were still so amazing though!) I honestly believe that everything happens for a reason-and your path is such a bright one and you will thrive so much. Wishing you so much positivity🙌)
thank you 😭😭😭😭
What is so amazing about these young chavs please tell me ?
You're so strong for uploading this for real, when they rejected me I hid 😭, All the best on your journey for real 🤞🏾
You will get there in the end, you have shown such strength of character- I have no doubt you will be a fantastic doctor.
thank you so much! it’s very unfortunate but there’s no rush🙏🏾
Leah I just want to say how proud I am of you. You have the most incredible work ethic and I know you will make an amazing doctor in the future. We are in this together and I will support you every step of the way. Love you so so so much and sending you are virtual hug!
Also our college did us so dirty with sending the email out late
Elisa Vice thank you elisa you too we will have a garden of banana trees 😭
kmt they gave extra stress for NO REASON
I’m in the same position as you don’t worry, we’ll get there eventually ❤️
definitely we can get through this🙏🏾🙏🏾
Don’t give up! If it is your destiny and you work hard, you will make it ❤️
I applied during A levels and got 1 offer but failed to meet it because I achieved A*ABa instead of AAA. I applied again in my final year of biomedical sciences with a predicted first class and got 3 pre interview rejections and 1 post interview rejection. The third time around (this year) I received 3 interviews and 3 offers and will be starting med school this September. Keep pushing on and you’ll make it. Just know that so many people don’t get in on the first time
congrats! thank you🙏🏾🙏🏾
Don't let a system make you give up on your dreams, there are so many paths to get to medicine.
It’s alright Sis , God is in control ❤️
I’ve had all the feeling you’re having right now when I was going through the process 💔 “Good things come to those who wait”, I know it sucks but keep pushing, you will achieve everything you want in due time!
thank you😭🙏🏾
Thank you for sharing your experience! I’m currently watching this as I’m on hold for my firm choice to see if they’ll let me defer.. good luck with exams ❤️
thank you Meg I hope all goes well for you 💜💜
The pain and stress in your eyes, my heart aches for you . This is only the beginning; you will have a prosperous future!
ItsHelena 😭thank you
Aww, so sorry, it's not your fault at all! I wish you the best of luck for your autumn exams, you will get in for 2021 entry okay!!
thank you 😭💜💜
You know ofqual has really screwed this year over,, but as you said remember to keep positive! Grades don’t define ur self worth. You have such a kind personality and however far in the future it is, you will definitely become a doctor :)
😭😭😭😭 thank you
I got results this year as well (which I posted on YT as well.) It was so stressful but luckily I didn't have to go through what you did. I have so much respect for you - you seem so smart and grounded and mark my words you WILL be a doctor! These grades don't define your worth, don't define your potential. Keep at it hun - even an offer for medicine is worthy of HUGE congratulations xx
Thank you😭😭💜
this seemed so stressful for year 13s it was all over twitter that ucas stopped working this morning. i’m so sorry you’re disappointed ):
Your very lucky to have this second shot and with the stresses of applications being removed all you have to do is study chill and get that offer :)
thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Leah, just know that for yourself and for people who truly know you as a person you know are deserving and completely capable of that med school place. As your friend I cannot tell you how immensely proud I am of you and I know that had we had the opportunity to actually take those exams you would have excelled at them. You have to know you are so amazing and kind and that the future definitely holds better and more amazing experiences for you. Love you so so much.
Annie Hsieh annie love u too💜💜 thanks so kind i’m crying 🥺🥺 i’ll have to come visit 😭
Omg, they rlly took centuries to send out the results😭 I know you’ll be fine! You’re super hard working and you’ll get to where you want to be in due time, good luck💚
really made it feel sm worse smhhh😂 thank you
Don't give up! We will look back next September and laugh at all the adversity we've faced to get there- like someone else said rejection is redirection!
thank you we’ll do it🙏🏾
Omg I feel for you 😭😭 ur gonna smash those autumn exams and get to where you want to be xx
thank you🥺💜💜
Absolutely don't be giving up hope. (given they aren't financially straining or taught in a foreign language) Best of luck and I've every faith things will go your way :)
thank you so much such an inspiring story
Aston have been extremely unfair with this year's offer holders. I'm in the exact same position, missed my grades because of unfair adjustment. I don't even understand why Aston don't even let us defer, absolutely disgrace of a Uni.
Ali Khan I had the same problem with them
I'm halfway through this and I can already tell that you are an intelligent soul..just the particularity in your sentences screams wisdom!
thank you so much 🙏🏾💜💜
I really hear and feel for you like trust me😭 But I believe we we will get there and make it even if it is with a little more grit than we thought . Let us struggle in solidarity and hopefully we can come out of this predicament even more resilient and ready to smash med school .
Love 💙
thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾
You’ve been so brave and taken such a mature approach to this! I think that it’s important that you shared this online to show others that it’s not the end if you don’t reach your goal the first time! Everyone has hurdles and this attitude is what helps to progress and become successful 🤍
I really debated posting this so thanks for your kind comment🥺💜
Leah Rebecca no worries! I’m struggling through the UCAT rn so we’re all in this together 😭🥺🤍
sorry to see this :// i hope you smash the autumn exams, good luck with revision!!
thanks Abdul!
You are going to do so well in life, I know it! These grades don’t define you and I wish you all the best for the autumn exams! Just know, everything happens for a reason and it will work out for you. I wish you all the best for your future and keep thriving!
Thank you so much!!
Just see what your options are and take things one step at a time 💕.
thanks for your comment 🥺 I hope all goes well for you too
You are really inspiring in how you are dealing with the results. I wish I was like that I literally cried.
I got AAD that D really hurt I wish the exam boards were more lenient considering the situation.
But I wish you all the best and hope that you can achieve your dream.
Don't give up! 💜😊
thank you🥺🥺 it’s such a terrible situation I almost felt disconnected to them😭 I hope all goes well for you💜💜
Leah you are amazing ! These grades don’t define you 🎉🙏🏾🥰 you got this baby girl !
thank you😭😭💓
As a parent my heart broke watching your video. I equally felt nauseous with the A levels fiasco. You have an amazing spirit and you are going to be an excellent medic. These results in no way defines you. Stay strong
💜💜 thank you so much
your resilience throughout this whole time is actually very inspiring. your mindset will carry you through life so successfully. you're not allowing this demonic govt get to you and you're the best.
🥺🥺🥺 thank you John💜💜
DON’T GIVE UP!!! DON’T LET NUMBERS ON A PIECE OF PAPER DEFINE YOUR INTELLIGENCE AND SELF WORTH!.
Multi Fan 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I’m absolutely gutted for you. These predicted grades aren’t it at all. But everyone’s journey to medicine is different and I’m sure you’ll get in soon enough💕
Back in 2016 I was rejected from med and forced to take a year out to reapply. That year out was one of the best things I ever did and I’m now about to start my fourth year of medicine at uni. Your hard work will pay off in the end - everything happens for a reason! You will get there, there is no rush ❤️
That’s encouraging thank you
Can I ask you how you applied later to the med school? Did you go to grad med school? Or you applied with your high school results the next year? And really happy that you made it to med school, keep up the hard work! I'm cheering for you!!
hey girl I’m in exactly the same position as you, wishing u the best of luck, we can do this!!!
thank you!! we’ll prove them wrong
I encourage you to try again next year, dropping isn’t an issue. Giving up is.
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Don't let the obvious unfairness of the current situation turn into despair. Remember that you aren't alone in this and that while the obstacles put in front of you might be undeserved, they aren't insurmountable. You will persevere.
🙏🏾🙏🏾 thank you
Thank you for being brave enough to make this vid. Your doing great, dont give up!!! We are all with you!! :)
🥺 thanks Zack💜
@@LeahRebecca I'm sooooo stressed for GCSE results day. I'm shaking, sorry this has happened to u. But if anything goes wrong for me, I'll remember this vid and that I'm not suffering alone too
aw i'm so sorry, i know it's hard but you will get where you are intended to be in the end. the government did so so many people dirty this year. so so many people are in your position. I'll be rooting for you and i can't wait to get updates from you in the future. i'm sure your future will still be bright
thank you😭
This is by far the craziest video I have ever seen! 💖💖
OhMyGhoshDoc 😭😭 thank you they have increased but still need As in autumn saying easter makes it feel less scary really reassuring 🥺💜
You didn’t deserve this results experience! It’s so unfair to make you wait and I’m so sorry that you’re disappointed x everything will be okay ❤️
thank you 🥺🙏🏾
Keep going girl, you will be greater in the end 🕊
thank you🙏🏾💜💜
Everything happens for a reason. Don’t be worrying! You WILL BECOME A DOCTOR! 👍👏
Aleisha's Vlogs thank you!
leah!! i've already said this to you on ig but you're going to smash the autumn exams, periodt! you're so hard working, i just know you'll end up being an amazing doctor in the future
thank you ella😭😭😭😭💜💜💜💜
There is always a way, My brother 3 years ago did 3 A levels, he did Maths, Physics and Computer Science, he ended up getting DDB, and he's now doing a maters Degree in Computing (I forgot what course specifically for computing). Anyway what I'm saying is even in Turmoil, there is always a silver lining for the future.
🙏🏾
You know that you could’ve done better than that!! Congrats for the hard work you’ve down over the past two years, and I hope everything works out for you💓💓💓💓
thank you 😭💜
I got messed up by the system as well!
God has a plan for you and with your hard work, dedication and attitude you will do amazingly well ( I don’t just feel it but I know you are gonna get far and have a bright future) keep on working hard lovely you got this 💪💪
thank you so much Teddy
very disheartening that genuine people who dont cheat and actually revised their a levels had to go through this. Im just happy Alevel exams are next year for me and it will be a true representation of who you are.
I'm praying for you sis, dw you can do it I know that God has a plan for u💗
thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾😭
In the same boat... rejected from Medicine at Bristol aswell!
🥺🥺 I hope all goes well for you
You got this, just keep pushing 💪🏾
I’m so glad you’re not basing your self worth of these grades. If you want any inspo for your gap year or just want to talk about resitting, give me a message on insta because I’ve been in the same boat 💖
thank you Faye💜💜💜
I got rejected from medicine because my moderated result brought me down 1 grade (I got ABB, but was predicted AAA), so I've got a place for biomedical science and I'm going to apply to do medicine as a postgraduate. Another 3 years but oh well it will be worth it in the end, are you able to apply for medicine for next year if you do well in Autumn exams? 50 days is a bit short to study for the exam considering you haven't been taught it, hopefully they will account for that. The system is so messed up.
yes all routes are are worth the end result🥺 i’m a bit worried but ive been doing some over lockdown so hopefully I can do well😭 good luck to you too🙏🏾
Esc Shane How do you know it’s 50 days until the Autumn exams?
@@Ferb747 I think she said it in the pinned comment.
Esc Shane Don’t know where she got that idea from then. They only said they’ll take place ‘in October’, not a specific date in October.
I admire your resilience and I’m so sorry that Ofqual has done you so dirty!!! You’ll make an incredible doctor one day :)
thank you so kind🥺😭😭
I applied for biomed eng at ucl. They gave me an offer for AAA, and i got ADD biology maths and physics WHICH IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. i dont know how i got D’s, i have never got such bad grades in my life😔. Ucl obviously rejected me and my plan is to sit physics and maths in autumn and do chemistry As and A2 in june so i can apply to med school for the 2021 series at king’s london. I got straight A* and A in igcse and got bbb in As so the Ds were out of the ordinary but what can you do.
aww it’s really unfortunate the way they have been standardised. that sounds like a great plan! I hope all goes well for you👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Bro appeal your grades you can still get into ucl.
Sending God's Love xxx
thank you😭🙏🏾🙏🏾
Always rainbow after rain, pls dont be disappointed its definitely part of gods plan for u
thank you💜
I wasn’t happy with my grades today either! Sending love and hope your way 💓💓
ah the standardisation has not been good🥺 I hope everything works out for you too💜
APPEALLLL!!! I just got a D grade in Maths (I retook this year) when I got a C last year and was predicted a B this year! Luckily I got into my firm but I'm definitely appealing and I suggest you do too because some of these grades make NO sense
I definitely will thank you
If you appeal would you have to resit?
g • d • a • w • g not if the appeal goes through all correctly
Elodie Delens Jackson oh ok thank you.
Elodie Delens Jackson for me it’s gcse so I was just wondering if it would be the same appeal process.
The government should permit for school in terms of appeals where the student can take the exam with the right ppe at school and prove they can get the grade. Hop it goes well for you!!!
And you’re right good things do come to those who wait
Honestly, you're not alone. The same thing has happened to many people. Just stay motivated and prepare, the autumn exams are only 2 months away! Dont forget to see this as an opportunity to take a year to sort out other things that you might want to do e.g. driving or other hobbies. How are you feeling now?
i’m ok thanks been planning my revision😭
Thank you for sharing this with us, you are so brave. Keep working at it!❤️
Thank you, I will
girl you NEED TO APPEAL !!! this whole situation is horrendous, the system is so unfair
I missed my medical place too, I literally had the same feeling
🥺🥺 we’ll get through this
HEY REMEMBER me. I got rejected to, was given an acc, centre assessed grades were aab , recent mocks were abb. Didn't give me a flipping chance to appeal .
🥺🥺 def try to email them
my head of year personally wanted to look into my case and see what happened, but right now im gonna appeal for my mocks or something and get in to clearing
😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱
Leah, that was such a rollacoaster of emotions- mostly from me watching in suspense!! 🤣
You are amazing and STRONG. Xx
This will make your even better if you decide it to be. (Don’t mean to be so forward in this comment, but I’m gonna read this to myself next week to calm me down and stoping me from having a another panic attack)
😭😭 thank you such a compassionate comment I know you have a bright future ahead🥺🥺 big up danielll👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
SO SO SO PROUD OF YOU LEAH👏🏾❤👏🏾 ❤ So brave of you to share your entire application journey with us online! I know so many people will be able to relate to this video and will be in a similar position. 🙌🏾
So proud of you getting an A in biology btw!!
😭😭😭 thank you Christina you’re actually such an inspiration to me🥺❤️❤️
You are a remarkable young woman.
One way or another, things will work out well for you.
thank you so much!
Sadly, my generation failed to make the difference that we believed we would, so It's kind of all up to your generation now - so, no pressure then 🙂
From meeting my daughter's friends and coming across people like you online, I have every faith in your generation.
Feel free to DM me if you want any advice or just to chat
thank you Toni!! very comforting 💜
I got my results through my school’s email first and was so afraid to open it.
right very stressful ahh
Well done !!❤️
Tayo Tijani thanks I’m glad it’s not all of them
2020 was not supposed to be like this!! But girl you got an A* and an A in biology that’s so good xxx
thank you 😭 this year has nottt been it😅
Hey as long as you tried your best it's fine and remember there are other careers too. I am going into year 10 and I am really stressed about my gcse's and I want to go to medical school too.
aw the exams were cancelled so that why but good luck i have many med advice vids!!
You will succeed in life, mark my words
aww thank you
I had the same problem with UCAS yesterday.
