I have the Truxedo Lo Pro on my truck. It is very similar. One thing to note is that the seal on the back is supposed to lay flat on your tailgate. That is why it's kind of in the way of the release handle. You have to close the tailgate first, then latch the cover. Otherwise that seal is going to get deformed and chewed up.
I ended up buying a Truxedo X15 It works great I can haul tall items when rolled up. I can fill the bed and close the cover and when it rains cats and dogs only a tablespoon of water gets in
Feel free to reach out when you get it in, and let me know if have any questions on the install. Also, let me know how you like it, I think it is a great cover, and you can’t beat it at that sale price.
Dude thank you for this video. They shipped mine without hardware or instructions and since I didn’t know that you had to do that extra wrap of the canvas at the end before you install I thought they shipped me a defective one. I took it apart and put it back together “right side up” realized it still didn’t work and then found your video. Needless to say this took me an extra hour but I got it done because of your “pay attention” note about the install at the top of the bed.
I have my SRX being shipped now. I can’t wait to install it; however, when I save up I’ll get my dream cover. The RETRAX POWERTRAXPRO XR TONNEAU COVER which also gives me the option of a Leitner bed rack.
It’s definitely hard to beat it for the price. I actually just took mine off. My buddy wants to try it out on his truck, so I’m going to let him try it out for a bit.
Thank you so much for this video! I ordered my cover and watched this so by time I was ready to install it was a breeze! Plus I had this to reference while doing it. I had different brackets but other than that this was very helpful.
Put on same cover...had This running while installing..like i said previously...NO EXTRA LONG unnecessary talk..which is refreshing...When you flipped cover That was a great help 👍
@@zachattackcustoms Got it in tonight. Spent about 45 minutes doing it. Instructions in your video were great. Didn’t need the paper instructions after watching. Cover seems like great quality especially for the price. I purchased from Real Truck Stores EBay store and offered them $20 less than their website and they accept. Cover came in two days in good condition. It’s very sleek. Bought it based on your video and glad I did. Thanks again!
Awesome awesome! That’s why I started this channel, to help people find the products that suit their needs. Glad the video helped and big thanks to your viewership!
Thanks for the video. I'm in central valley CA where it gets 100+ degrees in the summer. Worried about fading. I suppose it's cheap enough to replace every few years if need be.
When I have had vinyl covers in the past I always put a UV protectant spray on them and it seemed to help with longevity. I would just do it every 6 months or so.
Yeah I’m getting this one it’s cheap looks good and it’s actually light weight so you may actually get a real gas savings the others is 75 pounds etc what’s the point.
I didn't see where you went back and tightened down the 2 Front Bolts by the cab? Did you Strech it out and then crawl back in on your back with a light to finalize tightening? Great video, just got mine today, just got to wait till it gets above 30 out. Thanks
I can't see why it wouldn't work with that tailgate. I would check with Realtruck on their online chat just to make 100% sure. They are pretty responsive.
The company says to close the tailgate first then latch the cover. I think maybe your tension is too much. I started on tension 4 as they recommend and it’s working well (installed yesterday on Ford Maverick).
At 4:56 you have the small foam piece above the tailgate. My instructions said to close the tailgate before installing the side rails, making sure there is a good smashing of the foam against the tailgate.
If I had to buy one today, I would buy the gator i got sent out for testing. I have my old one on because I spent a lot of money on it and feel obligated to use it. I thought about trying to sell it, cause when I have to use the full bed it is heavy to take off. The gator roll up cover is just soooo convenient.
Thanks for the video. I need a budget friendly solution after my trifold flew off at some point I was driving to work during the hurricane. That was $700 down the drain. Now I just need something inexpensive to cover my bed
Nice! Yea, honestly it’s just piece of mind but I agree with you, it’s a very small chance. Just the other day I had to pick up shoe mould in the back of the truck and the cover worked great. I unlatched the back and laid the cover over top where there was just a small gap for the shoe mould to come up through. It sat pretty still even though it was unlatched.
Hey I’ve looked at numerous covers. I like the Velcro sides but think they should have aluminum roller panels like the BAK 4S . Best of both worlds and would be better with the aluminum cross panels for extra protection. Then add a flat Matt fabric cover material.
He says to position side rails back towards the tail gate,I did that and couldn’t close my tailgate on my Silverado LT.I had to looosen everything prior to this and reposition so rails are foward towards the window, trial and error, instructions, not so good, video not so good
Thanks for watching, sorry my instructions were not more helpful to you. I tried to be as detailed as I could. The instructions I got in the box said to press the rails to just touch the tailgate as I stated in the video. I apologize that this video was not more helpful to you.
Have a question do u have a instagram or email where I can send u picture of the cover one side of it hangs over the bed than the other side dk what I did wrong
I installed mine with the cover rolled and it was 2” offset. Called Real Truck, was transferred to Truxedo which makes Gator. They said bolt it down with the big plastic washers, then go to the short side of the roll and pull it towards you (it slides on that metal bracket). It worked. (I pulled the roll standing outside the truck.)
This is the best install guide video I’ve ever watched on UA-cam. You cut my install time in half.
Thank you, glad to help!

Yes, when installing anything its good to line everything up before tightening down everything. Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy the cover.
Got mine and your video helped. Thanks. However I cannot unclip mine. Pulling the latch and not releasing.
Thanks for watching, may just need to be adjusted slightly.
@@zachattackcustoms got it. Thanks again
Great video man!
Thanks
I would keep my fishing poles in the house. Of course someone could cut a window screen and take them. Maybe an iron safe or sleep with them
lol, I usually keep them inside, but when fishing early with a buddy I like to have everything loaded up and ready to go.
Much appreciated!
Does it work with a multi flex tailgate,
Awesome video.
I can't see why it wouldn't work with that tailgate. I would check with Realtruck on their online chat just to make 100% sure. They are pretty responsive.
I drive a lot of highway, does it flap in the wind or anything?
Just a little, but it’s not bad. I show how it does in the video.
Can you latch the cover while the tailgate is closed? I couldn’t. I can only latch it while the gate is open just like you did in the video. Thanks!
I honestly haven’t even tried to do that, but I could see where it might be difficult.
Just installed mine today. Push the far driver side corner down pretty hard and it will close with the tailgate shut.
Mine won’t close with the tailgate up either

I’m considering this cover. Does it seal well at the front of the bed right behind the cab of the truck?
Yes, there is a rubber weather stripping that lays flush for a good seal.
is it compatible with the 2024 Toyota Tundra with deck rail system already installed on the truck?
I have no idea.
Which cover do you prefer/recommend,Extang or Gator?
If I had to buy one today, I would buy the gator i got sent out for testing. I have my old one on because I spent a lot of money on it and feel obligated to use it. Is it good in the snow?
I can let you know if it snows this year.
The cover doesn’t fully cover the Velcro on one side of the truck for me. Do you know the fix for this ?
It being a new cover it is going to be very tight to pull. Over time it should stretch more.
Thanks for the video. I need a budget friendly solution after my trifold flew off at some point I was driving to work during the hurricane. That was $700 down the drain. Now I just need something inexpensive to cover my bed
Dang, sorry to hear that, yea this one should do the trick.
I feel like most criminals are lazy and won’t use a knife to cut through that vinyl! It looks great. Mine comes Saturday
