- I now have a portable hide for wildlife watching. I took it out a couple of times to give it a field test, I'm looking forward to making a few modifications and taking it out to varios different locations over time. All in all I belive this to be a useful bit of kit. This video isn't a review buy a first look at the hide.

I wasn't aware that anything like this existed. I would have enjoyed having one of these for last year's moose hunt for the warmth that it would provide.
Hi there, neither did I until I saw someone use one and I thought it looked great, it certainly traps the warmth and is cosy, it has a cup holder, it's a weird material though, it's not waterproof, so I might have to apply wax or something. I will gladly trade you for your Russian bear tent ha ha!
I liked how portable that hide was, just what you need for your photography. Nice one Chris, cheers.
I took it out again to take a thumbnail picture and ended up spending 5 hours out there, so easy to sit like that. I reckon I can read the dummies book in there too pass the time 😀. Thanks Gregor.
A great day in the nature! ❤️❤️❤️
I have the Dummies book for Algebra 🤣 Great video Chris love the scenery ❤️
Mrs V Ryan, my best subject at school was English, my worst was Math, I failed, and Algebra caused me sleepless nights lol, I think I would need Algebra for thickos..my eyes glaze over and I take on the lost rabbit role.. thanks for watching my videos and the support you gave as I said before, I really hope you have a great 2022, all the best Chris
What an awesome new way to enjoy the outdoors Chris. Hopefully you can weather proof it; it'd be so cosy! Great looking woodland
Thanks buddy, great wee bit of kit eh, you been out lately?
@@northernembersoutdoors1045 Unfortunately not, has been a busy new year but in a few weeks will be embarking on something big! Cheers
@@ReviloNZwalks sounds good and looking forward to it 😎
Looks like a great way to spend the day Chris! I'm glad you are happy with the hide even if it's not perfect, it's pretty hard to find anything that is.
I enjoyed seeing the photos and footage of the deer and I'm looking forward to seeing you improve.
All the best man.
Cheers
Hey Zeb, so good to hear from you, happy new years cheers, I know I've some catchup to do mate, on holiday with the wife so quality time lol. So much to learn with the photography, where to start ha ha. I can quite happily sit in there for five hours, a good place to read the book.
Speak soon, all the best bud, cheers Chris.
@@northernembersoutdoors1045 Cheers Chris. Enjoy ya holiday mate.
Great idea, Chris. I was thinking for some time to buy a hide. Btw, that piece of woodland is amazing. Cheers, mate.
Thank you Sir, I love it there, I'm taking the pipe up there tomorrow, your last video was awesome, you said what I've been thinking, all the best Val
This place is stunning!
I really love it, it's beautiful, thanks for watching and happy new year.
@@northernembersoutdoors1045 *Happy new year! *
That hide is a neat piece of gear.
For wildlife watching and hunting too I reckon, it won't last forever but for the price it's OK, it needs some tweaking though, cheers for watching buddy.
That looks just the job for observing and photographing wildlife Chris 👍. That sigma lens is a beast. Looking forward to watching you develop your new skills buddy. I hope that you and the family have a great New Year and I wish you all the very best for 2022. Cheers, J 🍻👍
Hey buddy, someone once said to me snow is a poor mans compost, as a gardener I read between the lines heh heh, and so it is with the Sigma lens, I sit in the hides near here with people, one day I made the mistake of asking how much someones lens cost, 15 grand was the reply, 15k and that was the end of my dream. The Sigma lens is my snow, and I am so grateful for it, you saw what the phone camera couldn't pick up but that lens worked a treat. I thank you deeply for watching the videos this year, there will be less next year, but also I always look forward to your next, happy new year to you and the family and all the best mate.
@@northernembersoutdoors1045 It's been my absolute pleasure bud. I'm sure that you'll get massive amounts of enjoyment from the photography. Priceless. Sorry to hear that you'll be doing fewer films mate but you have to do what gives you the most pleasure. Take care my friend and I'll catch up with you again in the new year.
Great spot and a really well made video, Happy New Year Chris!
Thank you, happy new year to you too, all the best.
OMG very nice place,😱😱😱😱
Hey buddy, it's a special woodland, I hope you are keeping well, your channel is a good sucess, well done, this is Scotland here, all the best, chris
Happy New Year
Happy new year to you too, cheers Chris
That looks interesting, but its the gloves i want to know where you got them, its the thumb option that I like
Thanks Lezley, I bought them from an RSPB shop. The one near here was Loch Leven, you no doubt will have a centre down there too. As far as the gloves go I really love them, one of the best purchases I've made. I bought a similar but black pair from amazon, I'll send a link over the weekend when I find it as they were cheaper and also I personally have struggled to find a second pair of the green gloves. I'll need to find the black ones and check the thumb, I also recommend the hide lol. Happy New Year, cheers Chris
