Beautiful Hall of Fame Masterpiece from Chicago, Peter Cetera's greatest song, top of the line solid gold standard of excellence, very beautiful piece of music
I think back. Close my eyes. The joys of growing up as a teen in the 70's and a small, one stop light town come flooding back and the emotion is almost too much.
This glorious melody was flowing out of my transit van's speakers as my wife and I drove in the glorious summer of 1976 out of Cambridge England onto London as a newly wed 24 year old on a working holiday in Europe. What magnificent memories this song evokes. Wind in our hair, young and free and in love.
This song is still Great to hear. The lyrics are meaningful, and sung with feeling, the instruments are masterfully played, and at the exactly right time, to give a Grand Effect!
I've been on a nostalgic journey for the last several months, mostly missing what I grew up seeing and feeling and wishing I could get it back. As a kid growing up in the Chicago suburbs, music was a huge part of my life. Listening to WLS radio on a small AM transistor radio and a little ear plug, hearing songs like this from Chicago, I guess I sort of thought it would all never end. Hear I am now, 50 something years old, I would give anything to have all that back. The music, the simplicity of life, just that sort of "feeling" that is so hard to explain. Most of the places I grew up are gone now, the neighborhoods consumed by time, the people I once knew all gone their separate ways. I miss it.
I was 17 and joining the Marines in 76. I have had the same effect roll over me countless times. Now I am sharing all of these things with my 8 year old Grandson I guess in attempt to bring it all back. At least he knows good music and loves it! I'm with you as to the "feeling" even though I grew up in a small one stop light town in SW Kansas

This is my escape to joy and youth and a sort of less complex form of love. It takes me to the 70s, summer, love, nostalgia and a more optomistic world. Now older, in lockdown and more fearful of climate change and covid this is a simple and beautiful escape.
The Live Instruments, Live Singing, Violin, Trumpet, Sax, Viola, Cello, Trombone, Drums, Background Singers, Keyboard, Bongos, and More -- ORIGINAL. That's why I love this song. Masterpiece!
I saw this performance but can't remember what this show was!! A freshman in high school - I played this before a football game across from the school on a restaurant jukebox -- I will always remember the girl I sat with later at the game!
You need understand this brother is on his last legs. I was 7 when i understood the message this song was sending across, were talking all relationships, marriage, work, family & friends, this is beautifully orchestrated, near faultless song, relevant to the point, i would love donny hathaway or the prince of soul marvin to have covered this tune let alone own it.. Pete 👏👏👏 rock it, send it, own it... Its beautiful 👊
I was born in 1970 , in a house full of music. Cried at 7 years old when Elvis died . I knew who he was and the songs he sang . I grew up loving 70s disco and 80s pop. Best ever times before adulthood takes over ❤
I was born in 1968. I remember playing on the swing set, my dad was mowing the lawn. The radio was playing, they announced Elvis was dead. My dad thought I was pulling his leg. Funny the things you distinctly remember.

I just saw this video and "Saturday in the Park" - they are both CLASSICS
Thank god indeed.
Amen!
As evil as youtube is with their censorship, they do have their moments.
just only to revive the music!
Geração abençoada essa... Nasci nos anos 60, Deus me permitiu viver este momento maravilhoso, ouvindo e dançando músicas como esta, de rara beleza...
Verdade meu amigo, falou as palavras correta !!!
Gratidão por tudo nos proporcionaram.
Nasci em 64, nossa geração ouviu músicas maravilhosas ❤.
@@mrorionfan1 this was shown in Germany, I don’t think in the US. Could be wrong.
That little tune played by the trumpet....REAL MUSIC!!! Love it....brings back such great times in London!!🥰
Chicago was a great group. I listened to their beautiful music for hours on end.👍🚀🚀🔊
1976 wow, this will never grow old, just started high school then, seems like yesterday!!!
Most poignant love song of all time. Breaks my heart.
I was born in 1970 , in a house full of music. Cried at 7 years old when Elvis died . I knew who he was and the songs he sang . I grew up loving 70s disco and 80s pop. Best ever times before adulthood takes over ❤
Hi Helen,hope you’re okay ?
same here. born in 1970.
still remember my dad's album's collection.
I was born in 1968. I remember playing on the swing set, my dad was mowing the lawn. The radio was playing, they announced Elvis was dead. My dad thought I was pulling his leg. Funny the things you distinctly remember.
Um conjunto de voz harmonia, letra👏 e tudo mais. Um dos mais belas vocais masculino de todos os tempos.👏👏
First record i ever bought, never forget it. Thank you Peter and Chicago 👍🙏💖❤💓💗💖💖💖💖💖
Good memories, although he left me. Will always be in my heart, after 50 years.
Shaun, I think you'd ought to watch this video on records...

His name was Mark. We were married for a minute but he longed to be free and so he left me. This song brought me to my knees.
